Every moment is a moment

Capture it

Love it

Learn it

Remember it

Before it ceases to exist
What do you think?
Kyle Duran Feb 2020
Neither money nor job title
defines you

It is the impression
and overall experience
that others receive
that fosters your
legacy
What do you think?

Look at yourself,
be proud

You may not believe me,
but you should

Your the ******* queen
on the chessboard

All the moves are ours

Own them

Time is the metaphor of life

It can't be paused
or rewound

Time must always
go forward

This came to me in a dream recently.

blood runs thicker than water

but they don't mention
blood that's like a poison
infection passing through your veins
parasites are hard to evade
when they're part of your DNA

so we drink fresh water
keep gulping it down
until we drown in it
cleanse my lungs of this thick black smoke

family is not always a refuge but a dungeon

Don't waste your time worrying about every mistake you make.
Instead fix your mistakes and learn from then.
Knowledge is a crucial part of a human being.
It is better to learn now instead of learning late.

Don't count the years of your life, instead count the enjoyments.
Keep a positive attitude and nothing will stand in your way.
Be respectful, always be kind to the person sitting next to you.
Live like there's no tomorrow and remember as if it was just yesterday.

Always be honest, don't ever tell a lie.
In any given situation, the truth will always overrule.
Choose friends who are honest to you.
Always be the first to tell the truth.

State your beliefs and don't let them get overruled.
Stand up for what you believe in.
Don't follow the crowd, in many cases that is not the best choice.

Finally be at peace.
Keep the ones who make you feel good close to you.
Spend your time looking for the one true thing that will keep you and only you the happiest person in the world.
I figured I would write something for advice, many encounters I've had and many times these have helped me. Hopefully it will help one of you.

Sometimes you find a person and you immedlately click.
You think it's for life.
They tell you they won't leave you, that they love you, so you just ignore all the times when they hurt you. You think they're using you, but that's just how relationships work, right?
They make you feel so low. You start to think that there must be something wrong with you, that it's YOUR fault.

Well, I'm here to tell you that it's not. Nothing is your fault. You tried, but you can't keep trying to fix a person that just doesn't want to get fixed. You deserve better than to be treated like you're worth nothing. You deserve someone who will love you for who you are. All your flaws. All your mistakes. That person will make you feel safe. And you won't need to beg on your knees to get a little bit of love.

You deserve  to be happy.

New Blithering is where I live,
Some laughs this burb does give,
You can buy plastic sheep here,
Do not know if they are dear,
In a store not far away,
Does a plastic sheep think our way?
Could it talk in an ovine way?
Indeed, what would a plastic sheep think and say?
"How did we all end up here anyway?"
"I guess we just did, okay!"
I assume a plastic sheep can think and say,
"I hope you have an awesome day!"
Feedback welcome, have a laugh.

girls?
or
boys?

I can't
even
choose

what
I
like

or

what's
my
type

I wish I
could say
I knew I

just can't decide
im just lost and everyday i try harder and harder to find myself but today i found her just as confused as she was when i lost her. its only my job now to take care of her and teach her to be true to herself.

These are the ingredients for a poem. But like all recipes, you don't need every ingredient every time:

MUSIC
- beat, rhythm & rhyme
IMAGERY
- pictures painted
IMAGINATION
- describing what's not there.

STORY
- the narrative, the journey within the poem
STRUCTURE
- size & shape (line breaks and stanzas)

Also, you may have a inclination to use a particular ingredient to the exclusion of others - so as you recognise this, experiment with those ingredients which you are less confident about using.

Note
- the first three are where poets typically find their freedom to explore ideas within the poem;
- the last two are where the reader typically finds handholds / the anchor to better engage with the poem.
