Charming Blather Jun 2017
There is something really calming
about the idea of
a sweet barley field.

With the wind moving slowly,
causing a very slow stir.
A scent that is different
up close--better far away.

So far away,
you can see an entire sweet
barley field,
and you can also see the stir.
And you can especially smell the scent that is better
from far away,
but not up close.

That sounds like it would be very calming:
the scent and stir of a
sweet barley
field.
i like the way you look at me,
but i hate it when you do.
i love it when you kiss my heart,
but it hurts, that's just the truth.

when you leave and look into her eyes,
it reminds me your body is owned.
and this fact gets lost in my abundance of thoughts,
when you bring beauty to my sight of grey tones.

i hate you, but god, are you beautiful.

It falls heavily, it falls softly, it falls...
Each carving of nature, formed by divine hands,
Made to its own unique shape,
A pebble, a stone, a monument.
Attacks free of arms, escapes free of guilt.
Leaving its mark on history without a trace.
A simple charm of luck, a complex sign of love.
Holding up the world, until the moment it must fall.
Expanding the limits to block out what once was.
A brave mountain, a gentle church,
Offering open sanctuary like a warm embrace;
Delivering gelid confinement like an icy prison.
It is abundant.
It is forever.
And always.

Suit and tie
or gold stacked high
dreams cast out
take root
for a few

agreed upon reality
of desired traits
inhibit the minds
of never divine
mental states

stay true to yourself,
rebel
I'll stand with you

challenge your planet
with constructs of mind
shape it, form it
and for you,
the earth shall rise
In a world where poetry has a voice.

Desires are a tricky thing. They never stop expanding.
I remember the times I would daydream endlessly about having what I have now, and when you think of it like that, being so caught up in future desires so that you are unable to appreciate what’s right in front of you seems a very big waste of life. For what is the purpose of desires if you cannot appreciate their fruition?
Desires will always lead to the birth of new desires, but to learn to relish in the present abundance while manifesting the future is key, and will bring forth the utmost gratitude, and thus happiness.

I Saw  Desire
And Took It

Oh Wait, Queens Don't  Beg.
This simple sauce: twelve blueberries,
water, vanilla (no, I'm not going to tell
all my secrets!) was everything I have
learned about celebrating frugality.

A red-headed woman, my young mother,
shining elegantly at a cocktail party
in a dress made by her
own delicately beautiful,
strong hands.

One three dollar silk remnant,
purchased in a little shop full of
cardboard boxes, each bursting,
to overflowing with fabric, and
texture, and color, high up on
Upper Broadway, in 1961.
Some confluence here of my life as a personal chef, and of my core life as a poet, and as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation.

Easy-going energy moguls at Exxon Mobil,
Insidiously sip scotch in their ivory towers,
They take no blame for the blame is ours,
We, the worker bees, were employed to **** the soil,
Little did we know it was the hallowed ground under our very own families feet,
Now we look towards our homes and see nothing but ash and hell fire,
Our collective youth and countless hours of precious life,
Traded for false abundance and counterfeit wealth,
When it all burns will you still care about your bank account?

It’s a fire
You and I
It’s a word
We testified.

We grew larger
It’s a flame
Every singing crackle
It calls your name.

We have heat
You and I
Have many colors
Trapped inside my eye.

It’s a dream
Yet so real
Can we deny?
Should we feel?

It’s a fire
You and I
Such a flame
Grew so high.

It’s a fire
Me and you
Such abundance
Where fire stood blue.
