She has a heavy heart. A messy soul.
A reckless mind, that lacks self control.
She wore nothing but shades of grey.
Her finger tips blue, from writing all of the words she couldn’t say.
She’s always been a silent fighter,
with demons on the tip of her tongue.
Taking away her breaths,
right from her lungs.
She won’t take any judgements,
on the bonds she needs to untie.
She won’t listen to those telling her how to suffer,
and how to cry.
Ignoring the murmurs of others she looks up at the sky,
as tears start to roll down her cheeks,
that tell a thousand stories she’s too afraid to speak.
Her heart cries for help,
but her face is all smiles.
Her emotions unsteady,
hiding she’s been crestfallen for a while.
Something she’s learning is that she needs to undress.
Starting with her buttons of worry and stress.
Undoing them one by one,
brick by brick.
She knows it’ll be hard,
for she’s built them up thick.
She was once asked why she sometimes wears many layers on warm sunny days.
She said because they made her feel grounded,
but maybe it would be better to just FlOaT away.
Giving in she wandered around searching for something that will finally set her free.
Lift her off the ground,
high above the trees.
She is like a kite with it’s string still spooled tight.
Closing her eyes she drops all of her burdens mid flight.
After realizing how unhappy she has been,
she choses to live as light as air,
never again to lose sight from there.

I sit at my window seal
Watching the raindrops fall
As people go by
All in a rush
Work, appointments, job searches
Responsibilities, children, lovers
Rushing emotions through their bodies
They are all millions of miles away
But nowhere near the place they should be
The simplest of accusations
May spin their mind so
Till headaches distinguish their thoughts
The way pills no longer employ

Have they forgotten how to fly?
To stand still and look out into the world
To enjoy the smell of summer after a storm
To wear warm laundry in the winter
To see the leaves change color in the fall
To see life rebirth itself in spring
And to reach up to the countless stars
While our imagination would let us touch them
Not in the way we touch our keyboards every day
But in the special way that we touch once in a lifetime
The way our souls intertwine with the Universe
And the stars join us in our infinite journey
Not as individuals but as drops in our gigantic ocean
Pulling us in to clasp each other's hands
And be a part of the circle of life

i hate you

i'm not pushing the shift key
because there's nothing left to capitalize
tantalizing thrones of angry kings
their names synonymous with imperialize

i hate you, and you hate me
one of us is lying, and i won't admit it's me
'cause you're everything i wanted
but you're nothing that I need

hollowed bones and quiet whispers
fill what's left of this tired skin
lonely lovers with lost lives stand in line
and await their goodbyes

so as i smash the space key and i silently brood
i hate the way your eyes flicker, the way you say my name
you claim that nothing is wrong between us
but your expression remains the same

i'm not afraid to tell you i hate you,
i'm afraid of what will proceed
the tyrannizing looks of saints and sinners
all believing i have, indeed, gone insane
for a boy who's afraid of everything

You talk of peace
then you slay me away
nocturnal are your keeps
and i am bright as day.
you call me freedom
and bind me in chains
this love of yours
brings nothing but pain
how can i be ever slaved
in cages that withers with age.
so many times i have told you this
you can't buy me love
just roses won't suffice
this affection of yours
is like a poison dart
shoots through air and breaks my heart
You grant me freedom
and chop off my wings
now flying and soaring
are out of my schemes.
this is what your love
has done to me
i am free and alone
but can't even dream.

My pulse is at 92 BPM.
But it doesn't matter,
I'm the only one who would care,
But I don't.
Not just about the pulse,
But about everything.
It's all a blur,
But not blurry enough to be dreamlike.
It's blurry enough to be sad,
But that's it.
It's blurry enough to see that I'm alone,
But clear enough that it's still sad.
Maybe I should get new glasses.

I woke from revolving door dreams
Faces mixed by the illusion bartender
And stitched together by an Amish quilt master
The attention to detail, the intentional flaw
Her needle poked holes through my comfort and weaved me closer to the bodies of old lovers
I weigh out my guilt on a scale with the ashes of yet another "last cigarette"
And contemplate the linear fashion of myself
Then and here, here and now
Now there is a body upstairs,
Heated and dreaming between sheets
It is neither mine nor yours
But love has no figure, it simply just is.
