Anya Hope
She looked up to the sky and saw all those fallen stars.
She couldn’t believe any more.
She stepped down from the pedestal,
she put away her telescope,
she lay down under the flowery duvet,
shut her eyes,
and went to sleep.
‘She was an amazing woman of faith’.
We hold faith as a virtue, a marvelous virtue. Marvelous because of it’s strength to hold despite the weight of all the things lying on top of it, trying to break that faith – the weight of a gritty reality. But what if we loose that faith? Is that a failure?

There are clouds in the sky,
they mass together,
just a thick swath of gray,
that blocks the sun.

I'm walking home,
all by myself,
I've been doing that a lot now,
but it's okay.

I feel the wind pick up,
the dead leaves are swirling
all around me,
like some strange tornado.

A tornado of leaves,
how interesting.
If only the wind would pick me up
and carry me off.

Throughout my windy thoughts,
one raindrop fell,
slowly from my eye
down to my chin.

I felt it fall off my chin.
The wind left a cold chill
on the wet path on my cheek;
it stung.

Then the clouds finally broke down on me.
The rain poured, but I didn't rush to leave.
I walked at the same pace
with my face lifted to the sky.

I don't mind
I don't mind
I don't mind

Mahogany Eyes

I will forever remember
Those beautiful deep brown eyes
That you thought were so plain.
But darling, you could not see:
how could you possibly see?
The way they shined in the sun
breathtaking hues of mahogany
Melting into golden rays
Circling an eclipse
your “plain brown eyes”
truly aren’t plain at all
they are a stunning mixture
of every color known to man
The most beautiful sunset on earth.
Your eyes are the most vivid memory I have of you, even after all of these months. You always used to call your eyes "boring and plain" and even called them "**** brown." But to me, your eyes were the most beautiful color I've ever seen. You know when you mix a bunch of colors together and it all turns brown? Thats how I viewed your eyes... The deep brown was just a mixture of everything you could offer the world.

Denial.
Slips like smooth ice
Into a delicate mind
Freezes over the wound
Numbs the pain
Til it's only dull and
You can forget
Everything that hurts,
Just for a moment
Let's play pretend
Paint a freezeframe
Of grey emotions
It feels better than
Red and blue.
Part one in a emotion filled, quick write series.

you would think that a friendship like
ours was indestructible.
you would think that friends as close
as we were would always
drift right back to each other.

i know that you weren't intending to
repair the rift between us,
but i'd been hoping - and you knew it.
you know me.

i was stupid, i was hoping.
but you've disappeared again,
and i feel like a fool.
i only have myself to blame.

Sun beam

I’ve been praying at the sky
I’ve been begging under different phases of the moon
I’ve been praying in two
Languages
At different times- morning, night, noon
I’ve been praying unto my
Pillow
Soaking wet
From thinking the thoughts that cause fears
I’ve been praying with my eyes open and shut
I’ve been swallowing my bitter tears
I’ve been praying while imagining the ancient pyramids
And the man on the moon
I’ve been praying while looking at the children
Playing

I’ve been praying while staring at my  mother remembering the smell of her and wishing her hugs could engulf me the way they did way back when I was a small child
Wishing she could tuck me
Smelling like baby shampoo
Sound of the late night cartoons
The warmth of a blanket
and my mothers soft prayers
Floating in the air
Past the sound of lullabies
Past the ceiling
Past the ancient pyramids
And any man on the moon....

I’m
Falling apart
But it’s okay because
He can’t see me fall
But I do fall
And it is
All for
Him
