Nature wakes up with a smile
Beginning of morning twilight
Red sun peeking from the horizon
There is a blush in the sky
Excited, to wake up the admirers
To settle down to a temperate day
A buoyant heart, smiling within
A faint smile takes over my stupor
Infusing faith in me to face the day
Noise is not always Music
and Language isn't always Poetry,
but, when it means some thing to you,
Noise becomes Music
and Language becomes Poetry.

You are a fiery cloud of confidence.
An unbending
tree in the midst of a raging storm.
The quintessence of Africa,
The mother of nations,
An embodiment of royalty.
The essence of raw beauty,
You are the heart of Africa,
An undying flame of perfection,
A glint of hope.

You do not wilt under the sun,
Take pride in the pigment of your skin,
The fire in the color of your iris.
An epitome of courage and strength,
You are haven,
Utopia in dystopia.
You are every woman,
The beat of tribal drums.
You are music, poetry, dance, art.
You are a monument, a sculpture made by the Most High.

You are beautiful
You are Africa
For My Beautiful Black Queens
(And every other woman out there!)
Proudly South African

SG Holter
By Petal Pie and Sverre G. Holter.

These oceans are named *Between.

Yes, I know them all.
They've separated me before
By water's solid wall.

But I imagine when I
Jump and make a splash
At my local Brighton beach
That ripple travels
To your shore so
You're never out of reach!

And at these rugged shores
That ripple reaches land.
As good as any letter penned,
A wave; an outstretched hand.

Like a message in a bottle
I hope it reaches you
Every nuance of my love and care
Dripped in oceans blue

Much more comfort in that
Bottle, than the one before
Me now. Its insides shared
With me; still I am emptier
...somehow.

Well you can't run on empty
So let me fill your cup
With seashells whispers
Wisdom pearls
And jellied joy to
Fill you up

A whispered wish
An uttered prayer.
That space that pushes
Here from there to
Disappear; give room for
Place to share as lair,
There's places everywhere...

Your heart brought with Amnesia.
To study it ,
I slid into your heart ,
making way through your tears
it was dark.
Placing a candle at the grave of your sorrows,
I stitched up your battered ,bleeding heart.
Tendering to the grave turned gardens,
I smuggled sunlight to your dandelion soul.
Drugging you 3 times daily with comfort,
was what I prescribed.
Nothing stays forever , so didn't your illness
and you don't remember me any-longer.
Happy laughter of love echoed ,
in the skies of your fist sized heart.
Wished you a healthy heart ahead,
only with the desire to treat it again .

today words don't play
the hearts game .
feelings my ace
to play blackjack..
they say words
and words are all the same
you gambled
I'm dealing my broken heart

playing a Switch
you emptied my hand
foolish ! merely did I
trusting my cards
that's how you won
leaving the game bland
you gambled
making me your trump card .
Ah! I remember you played
a
Blackjack
Blackjack the player must compete with the dealer .
life's not a game , loves not a card.
just thought of the game and penned it.

I prefer classical music
On days when I'm feeling numb
The exquisiteness of it all
Breathes fire into my soul
Slowly bringing me back
From an unending abyss
Until I feel almost human again

There are times
When I seem to be consumed
By an utter sadness
That not even I can write about

Should I explain?

I like to light cigarettes
Only to watch them burn away
Gradually turning into bits of ash
I miss their taste
And it's only then that I realize
That I don't drink enough
It's another weakness I'm not allowed

These days,
Pride seems to be my only salvation
Or perhaps it's stubbornness
A sheer force of will to get through the day

Either way,
Dreams remain pain filled
Life is a constant fight against the bleak
And I break mirrors every day
Cracking my reflection with ease
To fragment this forced smile
It's a necessary evil...
To hide everything that I feel
Because surviving is the only thing that matters

To be honest,
Happiness is something I can't touch
An emotion that I can't quite fathom
Though I can't seem to stop trying

Every jungle needs a queen
I'll be ****** if it isn't me

Hollow
Do you smell that? The rich, smooth aroma in the air?
An omniscient amalgamation of flavorful anomalies
Ooh, I like it! What could it be? I haven't the slightest...
A persistent, wayward poet writes lonely words in the night
You mean like...? Oh dear me, shall I check the time?
Do you remember our last nightly adventure?
How could I forget? We must check the time! Quickly now!
Alas, our worst fears have thus been confirmed
A midnight poet, the most unpredictable form of writing...
Do you suppose the poor soul has had any coffee?
Well, I should hope so! What ever shall we do?
Naught. We let the pen run it's course, and in time...
But the destruction... think of the mayhem, woman!!!
Leave the poor thing, it's already a shame it's awake
No! Lay your weary head down, fellow poet, and rest...
Hollow, the best ideas remain trapped in mind during consciousness
Hogwash. I will not be hornswoggled with temptation
Though, I am correct to assume that you understand my reasoning?
Night-Write are the right-writes, yada yada yada...
So you agree then, do you not?
Well, of course! However, a midnight poet should never be left unattended!
Then we will write in the morning
Then so be it
Are you coming?
Go to sleep
Who are you talking to, Hollow?

an accord of peace shall never be found
while ever the weapons of war resound
man has not heeded lessons from the past
over centuries countless souls killed
endless rivers of blood hath been spilled

an olive branch ushers in tranquility
too many souls lost through inane hostility
the world sees conflict and is most aghast
put down the rifle let it's powder rest
leaders must hear this imploring request

the dove of peace the symbol of brotherhood
may it fly over our orb in quietness
armaments bring vast amounts of sadness
may we have hush in every neighborhood

Spanish proverb " the belly rules the mind " ..
Let's start then..

Firstly you must have all the ingredients ready
Your mind ( as per you )
Imagination 50gms
Dreams 20 gms
Inspiration 30 gms
Feelings 100 gms

Now
Rinse your mind thoroughly
With universal calmness
And marinate with sanity

Next
Butter it up forever
With inspiration
Make sure it's lucid

Now again
Create a wrapping of feelings
Careful add the least hate
And let it heat in the oven of trials

That's enough not more than a lifetime
Very important the plating

Take a clean sheet of life
Lay it over carefully
garnish with your experiences
And I guess that's ready

THE PERFECT RECIPE!
Life isn't perfect ...we are created to shape it !
If I walked a thousand miles

Would you greet me with smiles

If I braved the desert heat

Would we ever meet

If I looked deep into your eyes

Would I see where your soul lies

If I came and kissed you today

Would you come take my breath away

If I reached up for a glittering star

Would you come to be with me from afar

If I could only give you the silver moon

Would you run to me very soon

If I ever gave you my very fragile heart

Would you promise to not break it apart

If I was to give you my body to treasure

Would you give me yours with untold pleasure

If I was to ever give all this just to you

Would you tell me what you would do

If is a word that is there and only

Would you leave me being lonely

Summer sun and car rides.
We drive with Third Eye Blind and Oasis telling us where to go.
Which beach do we jump on today?
Doesn't matter, I'm counting the waves.
We came, found that peace and left our stress.
Sifting sand through laughter and digging holes with hands.
What else could we ask for in life?
That moment. Go find it.
Let's get back there.
