It's so peaceful and quiet at night,
It's as if the world just kind of fades away,
I'm laying on the pavement in the middle of the road,
No cars are around,
I can hear the wind flowing through,
The trees rustle in response,
And the sound of the river flowing.
It's peaceful and for once it seems as if all the worries and  responsibilities are lifted off of my shoulders.
I look up at the sky, but no stars can be seen tonight,
The clouds are pink from reflecting the city lights,
I watch as they slowly roll by.
I am not necessarily happy, nor sad, but rather alive.
All I know is that I never want this feeling to end,
I don't want to feel that weight on me,
Not when I finally know what it feels like to breathe.

She reminds me of a cool summers breeze,
Or that feeling you get when you watch the sun set or rise.
She is the feeling of beauty and simplicity.
She is the feeling of awe and amazement that you get when you look into her eyes.
She is the air that I breath.
She is the feeling of joy when you dance around in the rain.
She is the fire that keeps you warm on a cold winter's day.
She is the very essence of my happiness,
And I love her with every piece of my heart, mind and soul.

I think I’m afraid of letting go...

I apologize if I am not the same hopeless romantic poet I once was.
I am sorry to say that I have wasted my words on poems that were written for temporary romances.
I am sorry that I can no longer write poems that sweep you off your feet.

Some nerve you have,
To break up my lonely,

To ruin my miserable,

Because I wasn't looking for love,

Nobody asked you to get me attached to you.
In fact you tricked me,
And I wasn't trying to fall in love,
But girl you pushed me.
So all that I'm asking,
Is that you handle me with caution,
Because I don't give myself often,
But I guess I'll try today,

Because I've had my heart,
Broken before,
And I promised that I would never let me hurt anymore.
But I tore down my walls,
And made room for one,

I wasn't trying to melt this heart of iron,
But the way you hold me,
Makes the old me pass away.

If I said I wasn't scared to fall again,

If I can make a difference in the world,

I just had a vision. 3 years from now, one late night at my university campus, I look out the window to see the moon.
I ask the moon to send a message from me to you saying,

And I know that wherever you are, you'll look at the moon and hear my message. We'll spend the night having a conversation through the moon and I'll make a wish, just like Brendon Urie once said,
"Hey moon, please forget to fall down. Hey moon, don't you go down."

Dear  Love,

When I first met you I had no intentions of loving you. I did not believe that someone like you could love someone like me; and so I hid my emotions. I saw you with my eyes but not my heart. Yet you were still kind to me and you made me laugh. Our friendship grew and as I started to let my emotions go. I saw our friendship evolve into something great. You always stand by me and give me advice even though it may not be what I want to hear. You help me through dark times and I will always do the same. I love you unconditionally. We are inseparable, nothing can tear us apart. Although we may have our differences, we are connected. We are tied together by an invisible force. We may not get along sometimes and we may fight but I want you to know that I will always love you no matter what. You are the fire within me. You are my heart and soul. And you realized that it was your life,
Spelled out on every line,
Would you hear my voice with wonder,
As it brushed across each word,
And pray my arms had the strength to hold,
The truth about your world,
Would your view on life be different,
And would it shock you the most to find,
That the things you thought defined you,
Could be summed up in just two lines,
And all the ones you took for granted,

Play a bigger part in who you are,

It's funny how life works.
When I was younger
I used to not care.

Fall reminds me of all the beauty in nature as the leaves change colour. It reminds me of that cool breeze and the smell of fresh air. The sound of snapping twigs as you walk. Fall reminds me of warm apple crumb and the time spent just looking out at the colourful sky, which is no longer only blue, but yellow. Fall reminds me of you.

Writing has not come easy to me lately,
Maybe it’s because I’m older now and the routines of life has gotten me in a constant looping state of mind,
Maybe it’s because I no longer feel comfortable talking about my troubles,
I’ve become more reserved,
More cautious,
Afraid of being too transparent
And having my heart broken

You asked me why I never talk to you about me. At that time I didn't say anything, I just shook my head. What I wanted to say was "I'm afraid that if I do I will lose you."

I feel trapped,
If I knew what was keeping me encaged
I would be free

My love, my life, my darling, I love you so much.
But you see, I am having trouble getting my thoughts together,
And the words aren't flowing as easily as they used to.
I just wanted to say in less of a poetic sense,
You are the best thing that has happened to me.
I love how close we've gotten and I can't wait for our future.

Everything I touch just turns to stone,

I want someone who will hold me when I’m sad and whisper in my ear to wake me up,

She told me how she doesn’t like how my head is always in the clouds.

She said “If you just grew up then it wouldn’t be so rough.
