my love,
when the lights go out,
i know you get lonely
after midnight.
when your heart spins
round and round,
here comes the revelation,
here comes the kiss
of the one
you've always wanted.
they're all yours now,
but the magic is gone
and the spell is broken.
my love,
i hope you know
that you're still
my favourite person.
when the lights go out,
when your heart
hits the ground
and you fall backwards,
here comes the revelation,
here comes the kiss
of the one
you've always wanted.
they're all yours now,
but the spark is gone
and the spell is broken.
my love,
i know you're tired,
so am i.
when the lights go out,
do you still get lonely
after midnight?

Just watch me burn,
When I’m at sea.
Watch me melt
In misery.
Ripple my wrath,
Along the beach
And take penance,
For my reprieve.

i have anxiety
undiagnosed.

sometimes it feels like my head is stuffed with crumpled ***** of paper: the things I never said, the things I should have never said, the things that someone never said to me.

all of these things are written on every piece of paper
there are so many right now that no more would be able to fit
yet i can't stop thinking things, i can't stop saying stupid things, i can't stop wishing things.

i sigh I reach up to my forehead and i grasp my bangs
with my shaky hands and pull

i'm hoping one day when i do this
the top of my head will yank open
all of these crumpled pieces of thoughts
will pour out in a pile
on the floor
i will kneel down
and uncrumple each and every piece
i will read each one
until my head fills up again.

never trust a poet's words
they sound sweet at first
but you'll notice the emotion in their words
it all sounds too...
fake
"i love you like the sea loves the shore"
becomes too scripted
you hear the small tinge of love actually left in their voice
hoping
hoping it could mean something
but it doesn't
it never does
it's just the way they say it
one day, after they have left
you will find their poems, and they will be the exact words that they had said to you
once long ago
please understand this poem is in a way just me talking to myself, reminding me to not trust a man who i once loved, thank you

Chaos
i tried to find
a song
a poem
a piece of art
something, anything
that felt like
or sounded like
you

i looked
and searched
asked
and wondered
yet no matter what
i tried
there was nothing
that came close

for you
my platonic soulmate
are one of a kind
a light in the dark
warm, soft
kind, loving
selfless
a best friend

i couldn't find anything
because
nothing
nothing is like you

I'm on my way
fate cuts
fate blesses

I'm on my way
everyone hates
everyone loves

I'm on my way
and is insignificant
and beautiful

I'm on my way
and the path is wonderful
and the way is terrible

I'm on my way
I'm on my way
I'm on my way

I'm on my way

such is life

Rose
i’m paving way on a path i can’t see
making my way through rose bushes
pretending i don’t feel the ****** of fear
i’m fighting through waves while i sink
pretending i don’t feel the burn in my chest
i’m walking through this murky fog
pretending not to feel the heaviness it brings
pretending to feel iridescent in the face of this
as if i’m not seeping through the floor boards
as life shows me the truth of my choices
life has a funny way of making everything feel weighted even when it's a picture of happiness. there must always be goodbyes.

Today I met God at a crossroads

At first I stood there alone
My feet were bare
My heart my own

I looked at both paths
That lay before me
Both straight- both flat

I turned to my guide
And tried to ask
“Which should I decide?”

Yet before I could speak
Or make a sound
He knew what I should have seeked

“For these two paths are not yours
For they end the same,
They have no lure,
But there is a better one.”

Then I saw a brand new path
With shards of pain and shattered glass.
He showed me a rocky footpath.

“This one is yours.” He said.
“You will find Heaven at the end.”
I felt my heart fill with dread.

“But my feet will burn
From all the cuts.
How am I to walk this one?”

“You must walk with me.”
He said.
With my question answered, he let me be.

At first I thought I was alone
But then I found my heart resewn
It was no longer my own

Then down I looked
To my feet
And I found them covered

Today,
God gave me shoes.
