That roll down the cheeks
But the weighty matters residing in the heart
That makes one feel sick
Sometimes, it's hidden behind a smile

The same letters that spell please
Also spell elapse
There is but a limited time
That we have on earth

Don't let your time elapse
While trying to please others
Spend yours answering your own calls
And not attending to diverted calls

Sometimes, shedding needs to occur
before gaining can take place.
Shedding of negative thoughts, toxic relationships, limiting attitudes —
Letting these go, creates room for our blessings to reside.

They say love is blind. I say that's a lie.
I see your flaws and I know you see mine.
We are only humans —
we have our individual differences but that shouldn't blow us apart like a mine.
Hand in hand, we grow together
Make sacrifices for one another,
that's how we build stronger ties.
There are many things that can divide us
But all of them put together aren't
as powerful as genuine love.

Man's number one quest
Is to find happiness and peace of mind
Most times,
He goes finding it at the wrong place
or in the wrong things

He devotes all his time to getting money
He's super rich and comfortable
But happiness is still missing
He buys the expensive things
But he still feels a void in his soul

Happiness from things quenches like
fire on a match stick
But happiness from within is hard to extinguish

He's seen as the happiest by others
But deep inside him, his life lacks order
At this point,
He's ready to trade all he has for happiness
Little did he know that
Happiness has been within him
even before the he got money

Getting high on drugs, alcohol and the likes
Doesn't solve problems nor fix issues
The best they could offer is temporary distraction
Which later fades away into worse negative emotions

He is loved by all
Except by...himself
In his "alone moments", he drowns in tears
He can't seem to run away from his fears
He can't hush the demons yelling in his head
It felt like his life was hanging on a tiny piece of thread
He longed for the day it would all end

But one day, He found a new friend
He met the One called Love
And his story was turned around
His hope was fully restored
He discovered his true worth
He became a new being
Totally transformed
What an encounter he had with Jesus!

He got played
And kicked out
By the ones he called trusted friends
And sadly he fell

None of them could tell
That he was going to land on a spring
Zoom...He took off
Balancing above their heads
A blessing in disguise

Propelled to his Promised Land
A can of worms
Metamorphosed to
A *** of gold.

Whenever we speak
I can feel my entire being,
My heartbeat, my breathing
I mean, all of me
Choreographing
To the sound of your voice
It is always an euphoric moment.

Man's number one quest

But deep within him, he's seeking for order
He's ready to trade all he's got for happiness and peace of mind

Only if he knew that
his happiness has been within him all the time
Even way before the fame and the riches
Now, he's living life in misery
Repercussion of a shallow mind

I hope you and I won't fall in that trap
We'll get the money without jeopardizing
our happiness and peace of mind
We'll enjoy the journey basking in the beauty of the moment.

"Hate" is a word that I hate to mention
But I strongly dislike these politicians
that are ******* us and
even the next generation(s).

The ones that have built almost no infrastructure.
The only structure they have in place is
that of funds misappropriation.

The ones that rule over us but are
themselves ruled by greed and insecurity.
They steal more than they will ever need,
jeopardizing the nation by their corruption.

Their country is living in difficulty and
they care only about their own prosperity.
They fool the people by doing good towards the end of their tenure so that they can win the next election.

These are not leaders, I call them Poli-thief-ians.

Hail those friends who...

Hears your unspoken words
Heals your bleeding heart
Believes in your art
Tells you the truth when you're acting up
Encourages you when you're giving up
Gives you advice that you can trust
Gives your ideas a positive ******
Get angry at you and opens up
Prays for you to be at the top
Supports you with all they've got
Stick with you on every terrain
any weather; sun or rain

Watch out for them and be one yourself!

It's funny how these smartphones
have only made us more phony
I wonder how many hide behind their screens and dish out lies
Causing some others to undervalue their own lives
No wonder depression is on the rise
It seems the stronger the internet connection, the weaker the physical interaction
I just hope that realness won't become obsolete someday.

I've doubted myself
I've questioned my strength
I've belittled my innate abilities
I had felt that I wasn't good enough
I had wished I someone else

Until I realized I don't live for/by myself
There is a power that's at work in me
And I have a unique and a glorious destiny

Even though sometimes, those belittling
thoughts still come to me
I've learned to respond to them differently
My confidence is not in my mortal being
But in the One that resides inside of me!

Steer away from greed, it drowns
Jealousy and comparison will pull you down
What you think of yourself is your truth
Never take that which doesn't belong to you

Do good expecting nothing in return
Don't pay evil back with its kind
Love yourself and remember to be kind
Money is good but it won't buy good character

In all that you do, protect you name and image
Love your neighbor as yourself
Do away with pride
Remember the son of whom you are!

Half-empty or half-full, the only difference is your point of view
Problems or opportunities, the difference (often times) is how you choose to see it
Impossible or I'm possible, it's about what you believe and what you hold true.

Had some quiet time to myself
To reminisce about the events of the year
Here is a summary
Challenges surfaced but grace prevailed
Doubts appeared but faith conquered
Trouble showed but peace overshadowed
Evil threatened but light reigned supreme
A lot of hurdles crossed
A lot of lessons learnt
Blessings felt and experienced
Indeed, it was a great year
The memories brought me to tears
Tears of joy and gratitude
Ready for the new year
With it's blessings of great magnitude

Sound sleep is sweet
No nightmares, no dreams
Just sleep
No cold, no heat
No getting up to wee
Just sleep
No tossing around
Nothing to worry about
Just sleep
I need one of those!

The only superior race is the human race,
to which we all belong.

walls that we've built to divide/separate us.

Trampling each other on the road to power
Crushing one another, a show of power

We're all organisms of the same kind
Regardless what a person looks like or
where an individual is from,
we should be ONE in Unity.

Thoughts dwelling in my mind like a foetus
waiting to be born into this world as a poem
To glisten before the eyes of the reader
And to linger in their minds even days after
I'll patiently wait for the words to mature
To be released in its purest form.

Once upon a time
A Lion became a Lamb
For the purpose of remission
An obedient and willful decision

For man's sake, He was crowned with thorns
He took off all human's shackles and bonds
He abolished death
And gave birth to the new birth

He fully paid the price of all human's sins
He became poor that human might be rich
He was broken that human might be whole
Restored human's position as God's daughters and sons

The Lamb fulfilled His mission,
Returned to His home
Also human's home
A story of Salvation!
