the irony of hearts
eliza t Mar 2015
they say love
comes from the
heart

but the heart isn't
the catalyst of
love

it is the heart
who suffers the most
pain

but gets all
the recognition of
joy

perfect girl
eliza t Feb 2015
you won't find
her in any
reality

she lives, feeds
inside the minds
of the imperfect.

but the lips of hers
have no color
her eyes no
gleeful sparkle
her heart pumping
out only cold dreams.

her host, however
is of much greater
worth;

her eyes are
rays of sunlight
amidst gray clouds;
her smile, like
an ocean breeze,
calms and lifts the soul.

it is she who is
perfect.
Ly.

two
eliza t Feb 2015
two
two smiles framed
by the glorious moonlight
two sets of eyes
glitter within the darkness
two lips, each one
entwined in the other
a makeshift dress, as white
as the surrounding billows
of snow
a single ring to be presented, a
shining symbol to express ones love
for the other
and as the wind howls through the
darkened trees, etched into the sky,
and as the snow falls with more vigor
every second,
two words are repeated
from two people,
two lovers,
i do.

eliza t Jan 2015
my fault is another's
laughter.
my soul begins
to sink as my red face
inks in my
embarrassment.
the smile i've put
there is convincing,
but it's a show.
under the apathy
i'm blinking
back hot tears.
they burn, but not
as much as the
cold slap of their
laughs
i feel like this all the time tbh...but i just go along with it lol

river
eliza t Jan 2015
calm and
fast-flowing but
unsuspecting of the
sudden drop, where it tumbles--
with its glorious white
droplets of pure
life, soon to be immersed
in darkness,
uniformity,
among the others
who've broken,
fallen,
before it.
and they all mend as one--
as the river,
still moving speedily along
but faster, with the memory
of free fall
