let me run
 Dec 2014 Erica

Have you ever been so happy with someone?
But you hid it from your family
And one day they finally find out
After all the things with that person is over
But your family won’t drop it
And continuously bring it up
As if you did something wrong.
And stress overtakes you
And you just wanna run away…
To that person..
Because that person,
Was the only happiness in your life
But you know you can’t run to them
And you can’t run away
So you’re stuck home with your family judging you
And you cry every night.

Nobody knows the girl
The girl that hides behind a mask
The girls that is broken
But continues to smile
Until she gets home
Away from everyone
Where she is alone
When she is trapped in her deepest thoughts
And nobody can save her
That girl
That girl is me.

Your                              words
are also                    a rope,
that saves me from
drowning.
Sorry if you can't read it.

He Never Said I'm Sorry

He never said I'm sorry
For the bad things that he did
Or all the time that he missed
When I was just a kid

He never said I'm sorry
For never teaching me
All the things I would need
To help me through me teens

He never said I'm sorry
For not standing by my side
The day when I got married
Not meeting my new bride

He never said I'm sorry
For not knowing his grandson
Missed the day he was born
Never knew how he grew up

He never said I'm sorry
As he laid dying in his bed
Now for him I just feel sorry
For all the things he never did

He never said I'm sorry

I guess the thing he did give me was that I now shower my son with love every day.

If you like this, please add this to a few collections and help it trend. Thanks. JOE

I would get lost
On a strange island,
Rather than be found,
Between walls I know.

I’d rather speak
Another language,
Than let native words
Form my last sentence.

I’d rather die
On a foreign soil,
Than spend all my life
Knowing only mine.

rest in peace to the teens
who wore long sleeves all year round
so no one would notice what they have done
rest in peace to the teens who drank and drank
to blur out someones name
rest in peace to the teens who just lit one too many
cigarettes just to fit in
rest in peace to the teens who couldn't make it to 2015

you're constantly checking
that photo you just uploaded
2 likes in 20 minutes
you start thinking of everyone
who has seen it
what did they think of it
obviously not that you're pretty
they couldn't click a single button
to make you feel a little better
ten more minutes go by
only one more like
from your great aunt
it took you 13 trys to
get the picture just right
you liked it at first-
so you thought
now as you re examine it
you see the flaws
no wonder why no one liked it
how embarrassing it's been up
about 35 minutes now
finally you delete it
before anyone else can see

Poetry saved me when I was falling fast.

It started with a simple compilation of words holding me in their grasp,
then began to grow into a world that didn't leave me for last,
it became a place that embraced my intricate manipulation,
rearranging 26 letters after moments of contemplation,
my heart beats and my fingers write what is pondering through my mind,
Poetry saved me, I am no longer blind.
