twinkling stars dance in the navy blue
to the tune of a soulful guitar.
one begins to shine brightly through,
tonight, he is my Northern Star.

Your presence is crepuscular.
In my  beating heart,
I feel muscular
When the twinkling starts.

Your infinite laughs
Absorb me like gravity.
Each humorous blast
Engraves the moons cavity.

Your ostentatious sense
Explodes like a super nova
With every chance,
But you're only my Casanova.

Your spirited eccentricity
Forces all into orbit
Causing the weather to become dusty
Taking my love from Mars to Jupiter.

I admire you as the sun,
Honoured to shine with your light.
Even as far as Pluto,
The sun would be bright.

Twinkle, twinkle little star
Last night I wondered where you are
Nothing is the same now
That youve left us nothing to wow.

Scream, scream little star
Dont you know youre my favorite scar
Left me broken down
Made me a joke in this stupid town.

Rage, rage little star
Why cant I be the one so far
Anything to get away
From this hell begging me to stay.

Whisper, whisper little star
Release us from this world of tar
You cant leave us here
Not when you are what we fear.

Live, live little star
What if love is all we are
Tell us everything's alright
We have you till dawn's sweet light.

Stars lost in darkness
Their twinkle too faint
To even try and paint
Imaginary pictures
Of a haunted pasts
Buried in pain

Their twinkle too faint
To even pierce through
The veil of night
A night so fickle
The sky disowned the stars
Perhaps ashamed
To call them her own.
"How could you even claim to be children of the light, when you can't even stand up for yourselves and shine bright at night?"

They were like invisible freckles
On her face, and they added to
Her wrinkles, the sky thought to herself,
When all she needed were crescent hickies
Delivered by the soft kisses
Of the crimson half moon
"Ungrateful little stars! I give them a home and in return they mock my glow."

The furious sky did not know
That those stars were shining,
Secretly still but they shone nonetheless
Perhaps the most beautiful stars
In all the galaxies
Brilliant in the own unfamiliar glow
But they needed attention
They weren't there for competition
For they understood that each star
Holds a peculiar uniqueness about it

They wanted to be gazed at,
Hours upon hours
Perhaps by a young couple
Helplessly in love with one another
Tracing the route to their unforeseen
But well anticipated future
In a world full of lovers
But with only a few
That make it through
To the finish line

They wanted be gazed at,
perhaps by a lone stranger
tracking a path to a long lost home
To hands that grew cold
waiting to hold him
And yearning to be held by his
Yet now he knew more than ever
That it was due time to get back home

Those special stars
Just like the most scared
Amongst us, longed for attention
A special kind of affection
One that doesn't care if the next star
Shines brighter or bolder
One that understood enough
To stay because affection heals
All our scars.
A candle in the sun you may be, you still shine nonetheless.

Show not their thinnest trace
let the words wear a happy face
how harsh may be the day’s living
hide the tears and broken wing!

Write me one sunshine poem
for my day dwindling in burning flame
needs your ink to see me through
by words beaming with lights of you!*

(Poem by Pradip Url : http://hellopoetry.com/poem/856652/write-me-one/)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Some where far my friend pleads
Masked their pain from sight to heed
Faking a smile they'll cheer others
Encouraging and urging, through their tears

So my heart goes out to them
I can't solve their primal needs
But my little light within me
Shine out as a beacon's beam

Friend dearest I plead
Troubles may try you
But you are bigger than these
Don't forget the gift you hold
Your sweet words are someone's world
Your pain may blind your eyes
But we are standing nearby

Though far away we may seem
Together like Sunshine we shall beam
The light within shall chase the gloom
Rivers of Love together shall stream.*
(Towards you!)

Million Hugs!
This one is for your Pradip in response to your poem.  http://hellopoetry.com/poem/856652/write-me-one/

Poor attempt, but I tried
Hope this cheers you
I may not be the sunshine, but I'd gladly Twinkle my little light!
Your happiness is all that matters.
Kandace Sep 2014
When I was 12 years old,
I stood by my bedroom window
and looked at the stars whenever
I was sad.

The way they illuminated
reminded me that even through
the dark times, I'd find a light.

Several years later,
I still looked up at the stars.

Things were different
because I used them to make wishes
on how much I wanted
to make you laugh and smile.

In just a short amount of time,
you became my light.

Now?
I still look up at those stars,
but all I'm reminded of
is that not all wishes come true.

I can't depend on things
that are light years away
like the way I depended on you.

Much like the twinkle of the stars
will dull and fade away,
the twinkle in your eyes when you
see me eventually did the same.

I don't want to look up at the stars anymore.

I caught your eyes
Set on me
I saw them twinkle
I saw what you could see

I began to feel
What you could see
I felt so beautiful
I could do anything

I felt so precious
The most treasured gem
Had mighty importance
every hair strand

Oh that twinkle in your eyes
It gave me so much
I felt I was your life.
