Along a trickling stream,
there's a hushed whereabouts
she likes to routinely gather
her thoughts from, before
assigning her task
to bathing amongst
the shadows.

Today's reflections vastly
withdrew, untwining
such musings,
as a playful breeze
whispered unto her
of an unbeknownst admirer's
dedication.

And so avidly fixed it was
upon the arched swell of
her lower back,
she quite shivered.
But be it a pleasurable fear,
she allowed him such liberties,
and stepped into the light.

sleeping soundly,
my love beside me.
i wonder if he knows,
my midnight woes.

not long ago,
i met a beau.
denying his glamour,
would cause me to stammer.

but i am reminded again,
of my sweet man.
nothing could change my love,
as pure as a white dove.

temptation is hard to resist,
but true love always persists.

maybe i'm just weak for love,
of perhaps its the chase that i get a kick out of.
stunning mister,
you make my heart pound faster.
tall, dark and handsome, its hardly fair,
tempting me into immoral affair.
fantasy is all it'll ever be,
nothing will come of what i foresee.
oh well, see you never, beautiful stranger,
with those eyes full of danger.

My God: have I forsaken you?
I'm trapped inside my schemes
I searched too long for some place new
[To give up on my dreams]

I see the mirror mocking me
My heart is filled with snakes
I feel the Devil stalking me
He tells me my mistakes

I squander life so foolishly
With graceless malcontent
When solace runs so rapidly:
My ego won't repent

I live within obscurity
The world is cruelly trite
Please, God: relieve my apathy
I'm weary of my spite...
This is a piece about wrestling with God, especially through addiction.

“We better just stop right now.”

the slogan of betrayal woven into a warning sign

but we are always too late to see it

as we crash past the red lights into the traffic of time

where mistakes cannot be rectified and problems cannot be solved

as the warning sign gets off one stop earlier than it should

and you are left on a one-way trip to nowhere

as you watch the stop sign crash into the front of the
This time, it’s too late to stop.

The struggle is real

The world is on fire,

And everyone is a liar

The struggle is real

There is temptation and sin around every corner

I swear it is torture

The struggle is real

People are drawn in and dragged down

As everyone has a nervous breakdown

The struggle is real

War, famine, and death abound

And the wire around the world's neck is tightly wound

The struggle is real

I have seen so much pain

It has been seared into my brain

The struggle is real

The world is dying

And everyone is crying

The struggle is real

The world is on fire,

And everyone is a liar

...from behind the counter,
she smiled at me in a deeper way.
Her eyes told stories
about ecstasy and the prison
of family life.
So, I went back to the table,
drank the coffee,
and I tried to exorcise
the temptations
through words.
The typer has always been
my most loyal lover.

Fighting the pull
in this valley of ashes.
The lure of escape
from the struggle it masks.
Learn from the eyes
of the gaunt and the flaccid.
The backlash is massive
and they're all out of cash.
Begging for breath
it gasps and collapses.
