He
Broke my wings
So I couldn’t

Fly

So I stole his soul
So he couldn’t

Die

So she settled for something as simple as a hug.
For even if it could not be,
All she ever wanted was to get close to his heart.
And she knew that it was the nearest she could get.

It was the good nights and good mornings,
The good byes and hellos,
And the silent stares and smiles of what cannot be
That made things still seem so perfect.

Echos and dreams met head-on with reality
collision-like
eye to eye it all came flooding back
the memory no longer a ghost
but standing in the flesh instead of fantasy
the years did nothing to quell the burning recognition of eternity
iris to iris
held there in time stopped
with the nagging sense of reality
calling back the senses
reality is a *****!
and sure as hell is no friend of mine!
I wish I had forgotten
every detail faded in time
The glimmer flashed
only to burn the wick tracing each memory
through the years of Devine hope
soldered in eachothers hearts
and a myriad of almosts
now sat right beside me
and you and I pretended
we couldn’t remember each other’s names

Living life with no regrets
Loving fiercely and passionately
Making the most of our mortal lives
In living fully on borrowed time

It comes once in a lifetime
A love that consumes us
Burning our very cores
Melding both body and soul

Often times we feel the pain
More so than feeling the pleasure
But I guess that's how love works
Eternal devotion to the one you choose

If given the chance to relive my life
To make all my wrongs right and correct
I'd rather relive it the way it is
And lead me to you the same way it did

If given the chance to choose again
Out of the billions of people in the world
I'd rather choose you and be broken by you again
Than to have never met and loved you at all

I'd rather love you
Than to love anyone else
Since you complete my life
And I, yours

The world may be against us
Star-crossed lovers in a vast uncertainty
But hear me when I say
That I choose you against the world
Because all this time
You became the world to me
You are the world I choose
Even if Destiny is against it
Even if Fate doesn't approve of it
Even if Eternity frowns upon it
My heart screams for your name
No matter how much my mind tells me
"NO"
I'll love you 'til the end of time
With a resounding
"YES"
Thanks for reading.

Kyra is a painter, but she's colorblind.

She makes someone else's world colorful but hers is grey.

Whenever she draws in the middle of spring afternoon, she tends to whispers to the singing bird on her shoulder.

"For whom I draw still hasn't been decided, and I wish to meet my muse soon after the season's end."

Two days after spring.

She's being asked to attend her friend's rehearsal.

A pair of her brown eyes is glued to the pianist as his melody hits her right. His fingers gracefully dance in tuts, faster than anyone's breathe, but not so fast compared to Kyra's hand sketching him.

"I find my muse." She whispers in happiness. Gaze falls to the quick sketch on her hand.

She asks her friend about his name, eyes sparkles with love, so pure, so honest.

"His name is Will. He's special like you."

Her brows furrow in confusion as she skips a heartbeat.

"Special? Like me?"

"He's a pianist but he's deaf."

If I be fair Juliet,
Then pray him be my Romeo
Yet aline the stars
To give our love a chance.

Let him be my suitor
And thence I will be only his.
Forbear the thought of his being a knave,
But I would feign it not be true.

He would be my Romeo
If fate loved us ever so.
I would that you may say the words
For I don’t think I may.
The poems starting with “The Same He:” are all connected (as you may have guessed). I’m not sure how I feel about this one, but I tried the Shakespearean English thing and probably won’t do it again.

Hands unraveled
Brutal freezing
Frigid heartache
Hardly easing
Know that I am
Just a helpless
Star-crossed lover

Hold me closer
Never ceasing
Take my hand
Forever reaching
Know that I am
Just a helpless
Star-crossed lover

On your shoulder
Feel me breathing
Touch my heart
Forever pleading
Know that I am
Just a helpless
Star-crossed lover

Let’s be bolder
Take me dancing
Feel the rhythm
My heart racing
Know that I am
Just a helpless
Star-crossed lover

For my last word
Hear me speaking
Love is here
But I’m still seeking
Because I am
Just a helpless
Star-crossed lover

See me tremble
Ice cold breaking
Heat misguided
Feel me shaking
Know that I am
Just a helpless
Star-crossed lover

As heartbreaking as it may sound, I love these words and the drive behind them. ❤️

Our story is like that of Romeo and Juliet
Love that's star crossed and forbidden
Never meant to both be in the same place at once
Driving us both slowly insane to the point of self destruction
But you're not Romeo nor am I Juliet
Not separated by ones name but ones life
Slowly going in different directions
Until were as distant as a memory
But none of this matters in the present
We'll try and try till the bitter end
Because we love each other
That's why it's called star crossed love
This is based off a past relationship. I actually wrote this in 2015
