I like looking at the narrow spaces
Between houses as the train passes by.

I like looking at the narrow spaces
Because they remind me of my childhood.
The empty narrow inches of space
Between two enormous brick houses
I'd obliviously pass by while playing tag,
Smiling from ear to ear,
Leaving only a narrow space for my teeth.
Running from dusk until dawn,
Leaving only a narrow space for bruised knees and tears.

And now the narrow spaces I pass every day
Between worn out houses in the city
Remind me of my heart.
So big, yet so full of others' pain
That all I have is narrow spaces
Reserved for my own joy.
And now the narrow spaces I pass every day
Between graffitied houses in the city
Remind me of my brain.
So tagged with useless information,
Yet so little space to paint true knowledge on.

And so I stare at the narrow spaces
Between houses as the train passes by
While I'm on my way
To waste the tiny chunks of time I have left
Hoping to widen the narrow spaces
Of my soul.
time is
the space in which we grow
   without awareness
   in our early years
structured by meals
   arrivals and departures
   light and dark
   hot and cold
   school   studies  play  adventures
   celebrations
and by waiting
   anxiously or not
for things to happen

time is
that feeling
that we may not have enough of it
in our later years
busy with jobs and family and travel
covering long distances in order to
achieve and educate and care

time is
what starts to rush by us
with increasing speed
in our final years
making us wonder
what it really means

that space
by which we measure
our lives
   our universes
      our worlds

time is

Maybe it's two years feeling lonely,
or I'm juiced from drinking way too much coffee.
But, when the Springtime shows its Joker's face,
I'm less likely to sneer and turn away

Than I was this time last year,
when I had lost all ******* bearing,
while I was swearing at the stars,
                                                                              aping Oneida's* navigating.

And, now, I'm on the eastern side,
I'm walking slow, it's early morning.
I don't even want a brush,
to paint a blackout on the sun.
Well, I've had a few false starts,
I've made an art of second guessing.
Finally don't need a crutch
to clear the days of all their must.

'Cuz I think I'm aware, now...
that the frost is gonna thaw real fast
          and trickle down
into the topsoil 'neath my feet.

Well, maybe we should lay off the whiskey,
or maybe it's two years in this city.
But, when the Winter creeps down 'round our heads,
we should welcome her just like a sneering friend.

'Cuz the other shoe will fall
and we'll be walking halfway barefoot.
                                                                         Frozen roads'll get gridlocked,
we'll ***** for months that we can't stand it.

For now, I'm drifting through downtown,
I'm striding fast, it's early evening.
Ask a stranger for the time
and wonder what's been on your mind.
And I'm always running late
but make an art of playing catch-up.
I'll catch up with you next week,
we'll kick the pattern off repeat.

'Cuz lately I've been thinking...
that the frost is gonna thaw real fast
          and trickle down
into the topsoil 'neath my feet
          and green things up!
Anything doesn't Come
Today all known roads are blank
All have gone away
Have devoured into
An expanding vast spaces

Beside the Southern window
Sun doesn't laugh anymore
Even you haven't sung no more
As the lonely pied crested Cuckoo

Yet, what makes hope of the birds
When they flying away in the sky,
What prompts this metaphor
Don't understand the pen
Don't know the mind
Not hear the time

When getting out of the lost in the dark
As if there is no space
Between known and unknown
Coal is the same as diamonds
But how beautiful thee songs are!
Spreading light in the darkness

Fascinating with its Form
Wondering to touch
To Catch in the dark
Unclogging the thousands wings of imagination
Bringing a bed of roses
Have laid on the grass
Passing the time to gossip
With the hidden Stars
Under the open Sky

At the end of a thousand
Miles away
Whose face popped
Don't Speak
Don't Laugh
How pensive the faded Classic face!

My fingers don't fit
Clasped between my own fingers.
Someone else's must rest there.
I need someone else's fingers
To reach between my own.
Mine don't fit.

Living a dream: My Valentines

I slept on reality,
suddenly her demeanor woke my eyes resting on her sheening tapestry when her art of beauty poisoned my iris with open arms; scoulding colours of appreciation.

Her gesture of silver smiles paralysed the vains of my sanity, invading the pit of doubt till tranquility filled the rest of me with notes of love—as celestial droplets metronomes showered my innocence.

As she made way towards me, lethargy held me still, dead trapped in silence, frozen by her garrulous face that said everything without puking a word in her shadow.

Approaching with the sailing wind in the raging storm of lucucious steps. Every foot taken, slice opened her perfection, incarnation frame whispering her story till I figured something about her.

If her beauty was a sword, she'd struck open the sky till heavens bled angels to kneel before her perfection worshiping the outline of her deity image.

Fell inlove with her, now my heart is soaking swollen, swimming in a paradise of affectionate oceans, emotions sinking—quick sands swallowing my all in.

So rather I gazed at her
Saw her in my future, rising to over-come the mountains of our struggle incase time separates thee hooked fingers on a duck's foot.

Her nails, nailed by God; he must've been in a mood when he created her.
Her arms, armed by her Mother; she must've been in a groove when she mad her.
Her cabinet of curves, curved flawlessly, craftmanship of an African architect.

Love flooding my chest, demanding I tell her 'three words' this demon is attempting to be freed from.

As she came past the threshold of my presence, beyond the potch of my welcoming aura..

Suddenly...knock knock!
My beautiful niece knocked at my door....So I woke up from a dream I was living. Gone is my Valentines with the night.. :(

Expect the unexpected. Hope you enjoyed the poem. Happy Valentines :)
