I'VE HEARD OF SHANGRILA - THEY SAY
THE HOTEL IS  NOT TOO FAR - JUST STROLL
IN, ORDER YOUR MEAL AND THEN I'LL
TELL YOU ABOUT THE DEAL : FIFTEEN
THOUSAND POUNDS FOR TEN PEOPLE,
SOUNDS A BIT STEEP AND I'LL ASSURE
YOU IT'S NOT AN ERROR - FROM SHARKS
FIN SOUP TO ABALONE, MUST BE BETTER
THAN HOME-ALONE OR IS IT? GROSS
OPULENCE FOR MOST OF US - ANY TRAVEL
PROBLEMS - WE'LL BUY THE BUS - A MERE
SNIP FOR MR. ABROMOVITCH - WE WOULDN'T
WANT TO QUEER HIS PITCH, PERHAPS IT'S
TIME TO PAUSE AWHILE, JUST TO SEE MY SICKLY SMILE.

he said
one day,
baby girl,
i'll buy you
the world
sprinkle you
with diamonds
and head to toe
in pearls
you'll dress in
the finest of silks
eat the freshest of foods
drink the purest of milk
sleep under
the most stunning mosaic
on a bed made of feathers
you will lay
never will
a worry cross your mind
the night will never be dark
i'll make sure your stars always shine
never be cold
blankets made of the fluffiest wool
with intricate patterns
made with the thread of gold
your hands will never
feel restricted to give
you can help others survive
support them to live
the orphans, the widows
the refugees, the victims
will always know
who to turn to to help them

you will be my queen
bare with me a few years
i'll make my way to the top
and then rid you of all financial fears
until then you have
my full heart, body & soul
just a while longer
& i'll buy you the world

she looks at him
and shakes her head
takes his hand
makes him sit on the bed
looks him in the eye
and starts to smile
*my love,
my darling,
my reason to live,
hear me clearly
when i say this
i need no riches
i need no gold
for all these are material
you are my world
let paper money
and bank accounts
fly away
and burn to the ground
we'll build our home
with our bare hands
work day and night
sow and reap our own lands
with what we earn
we'll share with the world
we'll laugh and be merry
live together then marry
have children and watch them grow
and make beautiful our own little world

i appreciate the thought
but happiness can't be bought
the two of us together
is enough for me, forever ♡
i'm keeping you forever and for always
we will be together all of our days
wanna wake up every morning to your sweet face,
always...

Someone say
Filth, ****, dirt,
Just ask me
I'll take off my shirt.
Unload your vetted earnings
    in the collection baskets,
small price to pay
    for holy water's kickback,
God thundered an indignant snort
    'pon gold filled prospered coffers
within corporate excesses
   of enriched gaudy churches
wondering when HIS word
  had begotten misconstrued
     in clergy's interpretations
      of powers' self-aggrandizement
       and pontificating gratification;

whilst the huddled masses
    were starving midst the pews
Yes, I know this one is controversial. To each his/her own.

my tongue is made
of olive vines,
wrapping itself around words
I am unable to describe.

pores made of gold
kingdoms under your rule;
finding life in the stars,
while I still need a stepping stool.

it's not easy believing that you're better off without me and frankly I wish I could say the same

I work.
Everyday without fail
I work.
It is tough
Grueling
Painful
Arduous
Work.
But I do it
Not for Riches

For you...
Love is about working on it for the rest of your life...

And he handed me the carnage of so many wasted and poverty stricken corpses.
And I scrubbed.
And as I scrubbed, I watched the water
turn into tea
and then into coffee
and then into a rainbow-shimmering sheen of crude oil.
I scraped the burnt-on remains-off
so the worn, rusted,
yet impregnable metal pieces
could be a bit more
presentable: lamentable.
In preparation of the first-world ones
who take a bite at pleasure, and then discard.
Who borrow by bond their treasure
and waste the world with all their lard.
I don't usually write about stuff like this, to be honest I think it's the only one of its kind I have.
Oita Robisi Oct 2014
He stands mighty, glittering in the sunlight,
Majestic he seems, the tales do him no justice,
Forth from his lips come the sweetest voice,
“Is it not power and gold you seek,
Behind me in this cave treasure to shame the Aladdin tales,
So much lucre to color you pale,
All this is yours just for a favor I do gain,
Cadavers are all men so put them in their rightful place,
Spill their infidel blood and in God’s eyes be great”

In my mind I ponder,
Paradise lay a yonder,
From within me a still voice saves me from temptation’s fodder,
“Who are you to judge and point fingers?
Have your hands not reddened puddles,
Resist his lies for you have the treasure that all men need,
In you is great abundance,
For in that cave is a bottomless pit,
Where evil’s benefactors dwell in heat,
Therefore my dear boy resist.”

Now I know who stands before me,
His ugliness begins to sink in,
From him I turn triumphantly,
Deaf to temptation’s plea, he cannot stop me,
For he is powerless before men with roughened knees,
So from this fabled hill I descend,
Renewed and shocked by my ever present riches,
The real treasure has always been within me,
The power to love all men I see.
