Luminescent, reflective
The waves washed off of her
Standing waist deep in the water
I waded forward
toward her
Waited for it

Pressed her lips to my ear
whispered an offer
I couldn't deny
had no reply
Only tears that I cried
for the promise of being revived
With my hand over my nose and mouth
and her hand on mine
There in the river, baptized
for the second time

but submerged beneath the surface
the surge of the current swelled
furnace bubbling beneath rocks
the opened doors of hell

She began her ascent
My arms bent
backward
trying to maintain but
wet grips slip

a piece of me stayed with her
must've included my third eye
for i watched my body fall
from somewhere higher in the sky

1.
My name is Delilah, how may I help you?
You were blinded by my grace.
You always saw hints of my betrayal.
My friends made it clear to you that I was a
hairdresser.

I cut off your hair an inch every night.
You saw it coming.
You did.
But I'd never cut all your hair off.

2.
Rule number one: Do not get attached.
Do not kiss on the mouth; you'll get attached.

Just because he took your innocence, doesn't mean him not wanting to marry you

(, him not wanting to kiss you anymore
or him not loving you,)

is a good enough reason to cry.

3.
He treats you like a child, yet he expects you to not be clingy, be needy or cry.

He demand you not to hug another boy
(not even your friends),
yet complains you're too desperate for affection.

4.
Prince Charming has a thing for little girls.

Stop being so mature for your age.

5.
Prince Eric has a thing for older women.

Stop being so immature, you're not a child anymore.

6.
Perfection has a girlfriend.
Perfection loved you.
Perfection tastes your wine and lingers on tip of your lips.
Perfection caresses your ******* and whispers sonnets into your ear.
Perfection goes back to his girlfriend.

7.
Leave him.
Leave him.
Scream out "Hallelujah!"
Leave him.
Go back to your Lord.
Leave him.

You stand next to him.
He looks at you as if you aren't there.

Leave him.

His hand touched the handles and not you.

Leave him.

You look at him.

Leave him.

You burn your bible.
You stop praying.

Leave him.

You kiss him, and you no longer think of your Saviour.

Leave him.

You have a new god to worship.

Leave your new god.

Leave him.
Leave him.
Leave him.

You stay.

8.
Your messiah burns your heartache into your wrists as the gospels kisses the flames.

Princes, perfection and new found gods are all weak in front of the All Mighty,

but strong in front of your naive, delusional heart.

There is no more room left for God until you leave him.

But you won't leave him.

9.
My name is Delilah.
I am not a prophet.

My name is Delilah, how may I help you?

I Asked For Only

I asked for a shelter; you gave me your home
I asked for acceptance; you loved me as your own
I asked for love; you gave me your heart
I asked for patience; you were here from the start
I asked for understanding; you have been to the core
I asked for very little; you gave me so much more

I was a stranger; you welcomed me just the same
Outcast and without purpose; you gave me a name
I was in prison; you came and visited me
Troubled and confused; you opened my eyes to see
I was naked and without clothes; you gave me something to wear
Cold and exposed; you took the time to care
I was hungry and thirsty; you gave me water and bread
And in doing so, my soul was also fed
I was sad; you gave me comfort and dried my tears
Scared and alone; you quieted my fears

In all my years I only dreamed that I could be this blessed
Now this dream a reality never adequately expressed

As I gaze upon the vast expanse of the night sky
As I look upon the greatness of the seas
As I ponder on the things I cannot know
As I dive into the deepest parts of me
It is there that I see and I come to believe
In the presence of one who at times reminds
The heart and soul of peace love truth there are signs
I am blind to my mistakes keep playing in my mind
There is chaos and sadness but sometimes I find
A love quiet and strong sadness and pain but hope in the rain
A stronghold a shelter when I am burdened and weak
It is here the presence resides that I seek
There is a longing an ache a burning I feel
So great that I am caused to kneel
But it is here somehow that something begins
In tears and in pain the great weight of my sins
Seems a little lighter and I know that God wins
He paid the greatest price on one fateful Friday
And He is faithful good and true in my day
Sadly it seems sometimes this world is forgetting
The kind of example that Jesus was setting
To show us the true meaning of life and love
What it is to be human and divine
A single candle in the dark can brightly shine
Illuminate my deepest darkest corners of me
Clear away the cobwebs, sweep away the dust
Clean this old house of pride, jealousy, and lust
Help me once again to see
Just how much you must love me

I Wait for Thee
Written by Adam M. Snow

In stillness -- I wait for thee.
When time beat still -- I wait for thee.
When my troubles are great
and burdens my heart;
if my voice would leave me astray,
still this day -- I wait for thee.
When sickness strickens me,
bedridden and weak -- I wait for thee.
Through many quaint of restless nights -- I wait for thee.
When I'm old and wizened, and my memories flee,
still my Lord, I wait for thee.
In a crowd of many or by my lonesome self -- I wait for thee.
And in my travels through misery,
when the world has grown so dark;
in my days of ridicule, my faith on trial,
I, your bondservant will wait for thee.
And in my final hour with my final breath -- I wait for thee.
With every hour of my life, from now till then -- I wait for thee.
I wait for thee O Lord -- I wait for thee.
Even in my darkened days -- I wait for thee.

Look at that.
You see that!?
The fog rising from the valley,
the river winding,
disappearing around the bend.
The mountains like a card castle,
fragile yet mighty.
Lonesome yet the least lonely.
For the moss beneath your feet is living, the soils leaching, and goats leaping and breathing.
On top the crest you lay your head. Eyes turned to the north,
as flickering lights turn to a dusty milky way.
My heart outstrecthed, vulnerable for the Lords taking.
I believe in your beauty but they think im faking.
My dreams are your dreams,
My riches are your riches,
My love is your love,
My heart is your heart.
Amen.

The Man

We are men: leaders in the world today
We are men: called to live in a Christ-like way
We are brothers fathers teachers sons
We are friends students husbands and then some
We are so many roles and responsibilities
We are trying to lead by example and have humility
We are far from perfect sinners its true
We are loved by the father so much he gave his life for me and you
What would happen if as men of God we could stand
Stood up for faith and family wouldn’t that be grand
In a world of deep darkness we are called to be light
In a society where wrong is good we are called to stand up for what’s right
Where there is hate in our lives we are called to be love
And we are called to give our lives if push came to shove
We are men of faith brothers in arms
Together and with God’s great grace we might avoid satan’s charms
Lord help us love our families be there for them always
Lord we are earnestly seeking you reveal to us your face
You are Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords, King of Kings
You are the creator, the author of the whole universe and of everything
We are men: like Joseph may our response be “Let it Be Done Unto Me”
We are men: each called for a reason very specially
We are men: trying to find ourselves in who you are
We are men: come from both near and far
Gathered in your presence we look to you for strength and peace
And pray one day for our children the violence and hurt would cease
Lead us to be better men
Teach us to be open then
Show us the way that is narrow and true
So we might live as men like you!

We let lust lure us
To beds beside Belthus
Making mountains murmur and
moan for pleasures
Fulfilling the flesh follies that fills
us

There , there trample on suitors
Creeping like crickets on sea shores
Lit little lamps and lead us
Through these things so , so
treacherous

Sunshine shearing our skin sores
As we walk and work the wild soils
All ail has ended mid- course
As Home! Home! Hauls the voice of
Jesus .
Belthus in this poem means no
more than a suggested name but it
is suppose to be a personification
of unquenchable urge for things of
the flesh

I don't really know what to say
But I've got to say something
Because I'm buried deep in your grace
It's piling up on me
'Cause time and time again I sin
But you've forgiven me
You do not condemn me

Lord I don't really know what to do
So again I come to You
In hopes that you will give me the strength
I need to finally change
'Cause I'm drowning in this sin
This sin that's holding me
God come and set me free

It's time for me to be the man
You created me to be
O God, I need You; take my soul
It's in You I shall be free
I'd die to live for You, My King
And I'll do anything
Just take my heart and dig me out
From this sin that's holding me

I don't really know what to say
But I'm crying out to You
And I will do whatever it takes
Lord, bring me home to You
God cleanse my heart and wash my stains
O, make this spirit new

'Cause here I am, deep in your grace
Just crying out to You
From deep, I call to You,
God make this Spirit new

My merciful, loving God
So deep, I long for You

"Deep In Grace" was written on the same day, and the same two papers, as "One Click". For more background information on these poems, see my collection page Ignite, and the poem "One Click" (my second most recent self-written post before this one). These poems birth out of the same time period in my life and struggle, and follow closely after my Ignite collection.
God bless, and may this poem affect you in a positive way, and stir your affection for our Savior, and Creator, Jesus, The LORD, our God, as I certainly hope it does.
