(Verse 1)

Still frames enclosing every motion for the long run

Rough pages: unsure if you'll see me on the last one

At this stage, I'm holding out for roles that fit my marker

In this age, I'm shining on, tones all around grow darker

(Prechorus)

Lights! Camera! Action! Let's roll!

Into the Unknown we will go!

(Chorus)

I hope it falls in line with all of my timing:

Cue Sequence, set the credits on a roll.

I'm magnified but living as a symptom of Social Control.

Breathe it in, it's only beginning, the showcase still unfolding.

Breathe it out your doubt, though it's rough keep going...

Verse 2

Set change, impulses that I knew I couldn't run from

Rough takes, I'm choosing which I'll keep until the last run

With this scene, I'm proving to myself that it's all worth it

With this dream, I'm finding out my theme is how I earn it

(Prechorus)

Lights! Camera! Action! Let's roll!

Into the Unknown we will go!

(Chorus)

I hope it falls in line with all of my timing:

Cue Sequence, set the credits on a roll.

I'm magnified but living as a symptom of Social Control.

Breathe it in, it's only beginning, the showcase still unfolding.

Breathe it out your doubt, though it's rough keep going...

i would tell you about the way i lose myself when you come to close,
and sear your image into my heart
with every appearance.
the most beautiful of all scars.

i would tell you that speaking your name feels like breathing fire,
a pain i can't bring myself to feel,
so skirt the scorch
and let my feelings sway

but above all i'd ask you
why?
because if there's anything i know,
it's that my love didn't show

choke on hope,
no love to stoke

Always there are
Your little lips that lightly lie upon my own
Delivering an expression in monotone phrase
That softly implies "I love you"
But expresses
Distance

Always there are
The mornings after making midnight memories
Believing that connection was made between
You and I
But knowing
Resistance

Always there are
The times that it took ten tiny glances
Into the depths of each other's intense glassy eyes
To feel anything
But knowing
Persistence

Always there are
The seconds that seldom slowly sifted like sand
In the hourglass that ran out...
Ending our time
But realizing
Existence
Working title. Just wanted to get the poem out there...

Used to be able to find peace in silence
But my mind has turned into a war scene, full on violence,
There's things I've tried to put away
That continue to haunt me everyday
I'm just gonna let it all pour out,
Ignoring all mockery and doubt.
My course was set but
I jumped ship and took a different route
To explore my own destiny
And ignore what others had picked for me
I look at her and
I close my eyes,
And oh where my imagination,
Send my eager mind,
The wiles versus my wills,
oh those hills they bind,
Men like me, like demons versus the Lion,
Exorcized, exorcized,
Yeah, but I am Legion,
if they beat me one time,
Oh, next time, time,
They'll be mine.

And those mountains of lust,
That once seemed unclaimable,
Unclimbable like Everest before
Edmund Hillary, like the Sistine Chapel,
Before Michelangelo, oh I will persist,
I will pursue, with the littlest smile,
And the darkest hue,
Where after many days fight,
Suddenly. Then, in the night,
when alas my victory is won!
My prize I will take,
And her pleasure I will reign.
A random acquaintance asked me to write a poem about feminine curves on the stop to prove I could write poetry. I am told the result made her, a very non-****** person, and I quote, "left a mess in my boyshorts". Alas, after minor editing, here it is.

i walked the path of least resistance
and found the path of much resistance
but it was the faithful path of patient
persistence that led me right to you.

How the hell am I supposed to know
who I am?
We sit in rows.
I feel my creativity,
running away from the ideas I'm
supposed to have.
Why are people so persistent
about telling me what I'm supposed
to say;
and what I'm not.
The more I 'learn'
the less I know
about who I really am

ART*
is in
the eye
of the beholder.

Such as, youth
as one grows older

Warmth,
as love grows colder

And strength,
to go on
once it is over.
Just have to look.
Michael Amery Aug 2014
Two hearts were never closer when separated,
Nor more apart when near.

We do not stress the important stuff
Rather we raise the ****** flag of war over the inconsequential,
And trample our soft field of love beneath the heavy trod of harsh spoken words stomping over the ripe carcasses of anger.

Where do we go from here?
Do we turn back time and bite our tongues never uttering the words that have bound us one to another,
Or do we plod onwards trusting that joy, loyalty and our oft proclaimed love will win through our clouded emotions to arrive at those poppy fields where this war becomes just another memory?

She got a ticket to nowhere
and bought it with a bucket of dreams.
Dreams that were traded
for a vast plain of empty seeds.

She planted drops of hope
and watered the fields
with devotion and attention.
Only to be left with dead seedlings
of bitter dissension.

With her soul account emptied and bare
she had invested everything
for a plentiful harvest to
sustain nutrition and share.
She plowed and plowed
But the sprouts she tried to cultivate
Stayed dormant and bowed
throughout a lifetime of relentless drought.

The sun still rises
and there is water from my tears
with enough attention and some discarded fears
Perhaps one little seed will take hold
and enter the world
with new blooms
that beautifully unfold.

Back in the saddle all suited up
she figures
maybe
just maybe
if I don't give up

With just one seed from her pocket
buried deep in a survivor's locket
she patted it down
and drenched it with faith
Called on her angels and down came the rain.
"Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know which will grow - perhaps it all will."~Albert Einstein
