Some people in life you'll meet may think and say that ignorance is bliss,
while some others around will refute the idea as nonsense and so dismiss.
They may also add that if we don't know about something it probably wont hurt
but, if we do know, it can make a world of difference and thus any danger avert.

From "The Quatrains" ongoing writings since the early '90's
someday i will be a man
with a kind and righteous heart
even when love does not find me
i'll still have a lovely start
for although i’m not a charmer
and although i am insane
a righteous light may guide me
through the shadows of resentment and pain
i once wrote a poem called "shadow of regret" now that that stage of my life had ended, this is the refutation to that, being righteous did indeed guide me through that resentment, and all it took was a little persistance
I read her prose about love and what not
And yet what goes through my mind is but a thought
Love is not sacrifice like she says on the page
It is not giving up because you can not be engaged
Love is being whole with someone so close
It is being friendly and being a good host
Its sharing your stories and praising her name
Critically judging as she’ll do the same
But you're both better for “it”
And “it” will be missed

There are some things you can't refute
like how all babies are born with blue eyes
proving, even before they are born
they are trained in the beauty of taking their time
or how jam and jelly aren't the same thing
even though they are made of the same parts
or how someone will always be the second choice

There are some things that you cannot refute
like how your father left you
so you picked up the ax and taught yourself to be a man
swinging at trees and taking life into your own hands

It's not that these aren't simple truths
these are facts
things you cannot refute
like the way I feel when I look at you
