a struggle to keep it together
an ideal that was always missed
unattainable in the very end
crushed by the realization
all that fumbling and tumbling
without ever having a reason
Prompt 73: Perfection.
What is perfection
Living up to others expectations
Living the dreamers dream
Navigating the roads
Invisible streams
Following your heart
Or the fallacious

Bridging and balancing

Believing in self
Living and loving
Kindness and compassion
In words and deeds
Is humanity supreme
In my perception
Is perfection indeed
I grew up to know kindness is free,
you don't charge a dime for a kind deed.

I came to know a smile heals every thing,
it even drives the worries and is all you need.

And if rain or shine, I must not complain,
because someone may have need of it more than I.

I learnt that to win a good race,
I must first learn to stay in my lane.

I'm told it takes a strong mind if I want to be fast.
And if I fail, I must not quit and learn from the past.

I am taught if I need to get a head start
I have to train smart and not too hard.

All these I am taught and more to live by
And to always be thankful for all that's mine.

I like the way that you sing
when you think that I’m not listening,
and it’s amazing the smile you can bring,
when you do even the simplest thing.

Go on and put my heart under arrest,
and proceed with each Miranda right;
at the trial I will plead no contest,
I’m guilty of thinking of you every day and night.
No need for a jury to resolute,
as each line upon my suit,
will be the love I profess just finally brought to light.

It’s just you,
and what you do to me.
You turn the sky blue
and keep the sun shining.
I thought I couldn’t do a thing
but true love’s always lingering.
It’s just you,
you’re all that I see.

I wish to write poetry for you but I forgot my pen,
but no paper for my hands or tongue so you’re body’s perfect to lend.
Up and down I’ll write “I love you” in lines,
at very least a hundred times,
over and over again making you contort, shake and bend.

We’ve been saving the best for last
but it’s nowhere near the end,
and while time is now moving so fast
do you remember when it was the furthest from a friend?
Some measure it by slipping sands,
but sometimes matters must be forced by hands,
to correct actions of the past,
and heal wounds that couldn’t mend.

It’s just you,
and what you do to me.
You provide each foot a shoe
and hold me up walking.
I was choosing to be by myself
than fake this with someone else.
It’s just you, naturally.

We all want to be perfect,
But what is perfection?
What does it take to be perfect?
I look in the mirror
And I see perfection
I look in my soul
And I see depression

I see a beast,
That will never be accepted
A lonely soul,
Surrounded by people
Yet, invincible
I see me yearning to be loved
So,  I cry myself
To sleep everyday,
Contemplating suicide

But when I wake up,
The first thing I see
Is my perfect reflection in the mirror
So, I smile
Hiding my fear of perfection
Little do I know that perfection,
Is an illusion
And suicide is never the solution!

A REVERSE POETRY
-read from bottom to top

stop hoping for the future
gaze for the stars and don't ever
stop hating yourself
please, I tell you
you’re truly a humiliation
don’t ever believe that
you shine in my eyes and mind
because you really, as a person,
change me on who I become
never be scared to
make yourself torture in hatred
not in a million years you'll try to
be the epitome of perfection
because you will
be forever loathed by many
never believe that you will
always be the person I loved
reminisce the memory and
be the detestation in my mind
don't every try to
convince yourself that you are a treasure.

If you could accept that perfection is flawed,
Would you love me?

Oh beautiful flower

Your petals are falling

Your stem is bending

Your scent is fading.

What kind of flower are you?

Not bright or tall

Nor colored or warm

You stand out amongst them all.

A flower so keen on the heat of the sun

And the chill of the night

With the wind you will run.

For the pretty and the perfect flowers

Are a comforting sight

But the flower thats different

Makes a difference in life.
