I'll hold you close
toes dug in the sand
with our black and gray hoodies
masking black and gray hands
and from our perch
we'll watch as the land
turns from dark morning
to something near bland
not to say splendor is lacking
but that mediocrity can be grand.
Trying to rhyme, lolol, not my forte. Just messing around.

you reek of
mediocrity
and i'm the
daughter of
the tides.
raw and
insatiable.
raging with
passion.
do not feed me a mediocre love.
fallen
in  a reality
made of cubes
huge cold cubes
your dreams
shot down
by inability
by ineptitude
by your limits
defined by the black voice
of a giant nobody
shouting
your occured
conscious mediocrity

I know how to question
Authority
Now someone teach me to question
Reasonably
Why everyone settles for
Mediocrity.

I'm not
Passive
But I get
Aggressive
When society becomes
Dismissive.

Art is not a
Perforation
On an
Illustration
Of paper-doll cutouts of
Creation.

But somewhere we lost
Authenticity
With our former
Intricacies
And were stripped of all
Legitimacy.

the man nearby on the train clacks his laptop offensively
like the annoyance of noisy writers in school exams
when I was stultified by writers block
I wonder what the black girl would taste like
passengers feed their fatness with crinkly cellephane food substitutes

did you have a good weekend?
conversation openers start to chorus
corporate cockwombles
talk in jargon tongues
as they sell their souls
to white shirt organisational ambition
common sense takes a back seat
in the street car of Progress
there's talk of profit and effiencies
from men who never made their wives moan
there's talk of scalability and security
from those who know nothing of flexibility and risk
there's talk of innovation
from those whose personal best
is a smart phone

have you seen the latest?
what do you think?
hey, that's what I think!
we must be brothers!
in a cozy co-ordinated mediocrity.
A dystopian stream of consciousness in commuterland

Feeling down?
There's one way out.
Inclusion will bring you back to life.
You will never break apart,
Now consume like the rest. Be like the rest.
In exchange for your life force, you will be given the best.
In a brief moment you will be presented with supplements.
Take all that you want until your smile returns.
Wash them down with coffee and alcohol,
And show everyone that your smile's returned.
Now you can resume your desires and functions,
And remain happy... like everyone else...
Human.
Part two of THE MEDIOCRITY MACHINE

When pain is hidden underneath...
One will never feel complete.
They'll never tear the masks they wear.
Show them their home inside,
But they won't recognize it as their own.

Laugh.
Frown.
****.
Cry.
Die... inside.

Expose your life force.
Destroy your life force.
Please leave your life force in the bin.
You are normal now.
Rejoice, you are happy now.
Bow down, human.

Insert the tubular device into your face.
You will feel a mellow ******* force.
This is normal. It is functional.
Watch a short video to proceed.
Yes... you are amazing.
Press the button to capture your face.
You look fantastic.
See how happy you are...
Human.
You are feeling...
Fantastic.
Human.
Part one of "THE MEDIOCRITY MACHINE."
Mediocrity lies just between success and failure,
And settling at it is common because it may actually feel like "success",
Takes a little more effort to move to success and little less effort to go down to failure,
Its a comfort zone but its not safe!

comes not with
bad grammar
or the stammer

it's not the
             its for is not
the stymied thought
                    or the common guy

It comes from
the million dollar word
                           to be heard
a life unspent to pay rent

                                   in a tent
and never asking

                                               WHY
