I need us to be mine
Your heart is golden, bright shine
Take your time and if you need a hand, take mine

A spiral of light, like music to my eyes
I spun out into the golden grass
The stars shining brightly above me
Only seconds ago the vortex that seemed to knock me down
I heard a laugh, but no one was there
Maybe it was the stars
The moon was too kind to laugh
My silver feet began to work again
Daring the stars to tip me twice
The dampened earth beneath my twirling soles
A cushion when the dare was done
I laid there then, but
Only long enough to find Pegasus
Until I heard the muffled steps and swishing grass
As others wandered from the trees
Their candles sad mirrors
Of the vortex in the sky
One by one they challenged the stars
That tucked them all in to a bed of laughter and golden grass
I watched as they disappeared beneath the waving fronds
Until I could feel the hands of the stars readying the finale
Pulling me into a spiral of sweat and lazy zephyrs
They too knew that this was the last dance
But still I whispered up to their shining choir
Daring them to stop time.
Their hands were on their pocket watches
Pulling out the gears
A wish so close to granting you could hear the crickets pause
Yet soon they stirred
The spiral pushed, but laughter pushed it back
No longer harmonizing to their melodic lights
I fell again
This time over a root
My silver feet tarnished to grey
And lost their shine walking back through the woods

When I had a much younger face,
I traveled to a far off place,
To a site where I fell in love,
Riverside, patch of Heaven above,
There we sat and fished a'while,
Memory lane can bring us smiles,
Golden dawn on a riverside,
Under hills where eagles glide,
Spring blooms of wildflowers,
Where we passed those happy hours,
Riverside to fish a'while,
Yes, memory lane can make us smile!
Feedback welcome.

we are certainly uncertain creatures
dancing in the night of our dreams
no more accuracy
than a hot air ballon on a windy day
concern to certainty
the heart gives none
it only shows the path
souls veracity spoken
universal language
science physics
linguistics of the heart
universe wrapped around
your private cellar
boldest red heart
complimenting the golden glow
welcoming sanctum that is you
where patience resides
connecting a mirage
mere reflection of rooms and 6 obstacles
mirror maze of self-doubt
where you mostly see yourself
once in a blue moon
great flicker of a distant star
the light enters
moment of brilliance
confidence stands tall
offering of truth
in that moment seconds turn forever
timepiece in a Dali painting
when eyes are locked
burdens dissolve into lightness

Smoothly, she slinks onto the window sill,
silky body settling before tall pane of glass;
Outside, the city’s down and out
Outside, the city’s golden light
and darkest dark.
She curls,
long tail around slick body
and stares out
for the one who stares back.

Tonight,
It’s an empty window opposite,
A single frame of
oh, what her life could be.
She’s never seen more
doesn’t yearn to,
Just for her amore
her golden tabby love.

Ah, there he is,
a pounce atop window sill;
he stares at her
who stares back
his joli chat noir (pretty black cat).

But it’s all too soon
when she’s wrapped in arms too smooth
and a voice,
lacking feline’s purr
slurs,
“Ah, puppy love, Rosette.
It’s all  just puppy love.”
"A Cat's Romance is but puppy love..."

I sat and thought about her.
How do I start over again?
Will she ever come back?
You see the last time I saw her was a year ago.
She had this vibrant smile.
Clear skin.
Golden curly hair.
And this confidence that attracted everyone in a room.
But I silenced her for a whole year.
I forgot about her.
Never once looking back.
Not once going back and seeing how she was doing.
Not even thinking about the fact that she might not be there.
I miss her, now more than ever.

Amanda, are you there?
