Now that you are gone
they surely
will find you
as good as you
know you deserve
on Earth.

Why do you mock me
here in my own space?
This is my home
to desecrate.
Had I known you were
here as well I might
take my chances
to venerate.

I want to be alone,
lonely and lost.
I want to be
the god that I ought.
Whatever it takes,
however I find
I may as well
buckle up,
because I'm ******
either way.

Now that you are gone
they surely
will find you
as good as you
know you deserve
on Earth.

Mastering the ****
Is a major part of skill
For things with wings.

You angle your face
To pin-point the sound
Of the beating heart.

Slow and silent is your flight.
Black and Blue Aug 2013
there was a girl who dreamed of flying; over mountains and oceans and forests and beaches. She searched and sought ways to soar into the horizon. She tried to construct wings of wax and feathers, like Icarus. She tried to fashion contraptions similar to Orville and Wilbur’s. She tried to mix potions and find fairy dust and jump off high buildings with large sheets tied to her wrists.

She had almost given up hope,

until one day she met a boy. With startling brown eyes that shocked her into living. With rough, but soft, hands that cradled her porcelain fingers. With careful lips that whispered what she didn’t know needed to hear.

And after waiting so long,
the boy had finally filled her with such sunlight, and warm oxygen, and such life that her feet lifted off of the ground. Her toes curled and her fingers splayed in the wind, and she grabbed his hand to show him the insides of clouds.

I fly eternally, without wings.
I have scoured this massive azure expanse ,for a century. I have fallen, I have broken, I have recovered ,and I still fly.
I gather tell from the winds, my wisdom, from the shadows, my refuge behind the sun.
I have spun, and I have been dizzy, I have dived and been exhilarated.
I sleep upon the clouds, yet I watch forever.
Storms do not trouble me ,rain does not quench me.I stay aloft and roam unhampered.
I see everything

Dove in my chest
Settle please
Your wing tips are anxious
My stomach is full

Dove in my chest
The swallowed sunlight
Should shoo away the tired
Come alive.
Come alive.
Come alive.

Dove in my chest
Drag the worry from
My hip basin
Up my insides
Out my insides
Fly away
Fly away

Turn me inside, flightside

Out.

as we floated
over the high desert in
New Mexico the color splayed
out like river deltas and sunshine
collected in the hairs of our arms
so high were we that Sandia Peak
couldn't graze the bottom of our
gondola. Then we saw it. A
wee butterfly lost on the
updrafts! Trying to
catch it I almost
fell out of the

gondola
all I saw
was a flit

of wing
and she was gone.
I've never experienced the
Thrill of being up in a
Hot air balloon

This is a 'flight' of fancy
