you and I are not the same
but I would love to know your name
we live our lives differently
but there's no need for hostility

we may not be alike
but we both deserve paradise
we fight to be treated equally
even though that should be

basic human decency

Maybe one day
We will run together through the meadows feeling the sun kissing our smiling faces
Leaving behind our dark shadows
Traveling to different places

Maybe one day
I will wake up feeling energized and optimistic
My thoughts will be clear, bright and realistic

Maybe one day
I'll start viewing the world like a child again
exploring everything with endless curiosity
cherishing every little detail
spreading only positivity

Maybe one day
I'll be waking up with you curled up next to me under the blankets
Hearing your raspy morning voice
Cooking you your favorite breakfest

Maybe one day
Love will conquer all the hatred
Everybody will be equal
No more discrimination or being manipulated

Maybe one day...

Chaining any people up,
Beating them with whips,
Reducing their existence
To ugly racist quips.
Treating them as cattle
And selling them the same
Is horror of the highest stripe
And is nothing like a game.
This is sin.

Using sales people to lie
And bring people here
Then making them slaves
For a long period of years
Then giving them land
That was part of the deal
And treating them as people
Who only lived to steal.
This is sin.

Dividing good people into
"Them and us" is just wrong
Claiming your god is right
And they should move along
So you can resell their land
And make them move elsewhere
With your laws and red lines.
There is no good in that anywhere.
This is sin.

Not accepting that a people
Have the right to their vote
Then changing the rules
Is playing the wrong note.
Being the richest around
Doesn’t make you right.
You still send them to war
Then deny them equal rights.
This is sin.

Denying human rights
Can never be accepted.
It’s sickness to watch when
Loving people are rejected
And robbed and vilified,
Not once, but again and again,
And ***** and murdered
For just the color of skin.
This is sin.

Demanding someone will not
Love who they may want
Is not an attribute that
Anyone should ever flaunt.
Pushing your religion or
You thoughts about decency
Is a heinous way to exist.
It’s a horrible kind of villainy.
This is sin.

Heed and Repent fear Wrath thou shalt Regret
Slow to Vent Pay thy rent
Those bent befriend
Cautioun him who chooses defense
Lend family a helping hand
Live off the land Thou are
Kings and Queens as the Lord

Thus hear my crys
Lessen demands wisely take a stand

I should be sorry for being white.
but I don't look down upon others,
still I should feel bad.
for what happened in the past
somehow, I am responsible

they put me down
telling me I can't understand
all lives matter.
but only if you are part of a minority.

I should be sorry for being white.
I should apologize for the things I never did,
things I never said and never thought.

because just the fact that I was born with a different skin color makes me unsympathetic and evil.

the fact that I am white means I am stupid,
means I am responsible,
automatically places me in the wrong.
I am constantly reminded of my inability to empathize.

all because I am white.
who are the real racists here?

A girl, just a girl
Can’t go out, can’t Converse
Because I’m a girl, just a girl
I want to be heard too
I want to have the same freedom my brother does
Not bear the fear of being judged
Being told I can’t but how could I forget that
I’m a girl, just a girl
I’m supposed to sit quietly and tolerate it all
Can’t go anywhere and simply enjoy
Even out here so far from home
Because I’m a girl, just a girl
Why is it that me being a girl allows
You to make decisions for me?
Because that’s just it
I’m not just a girl!

Listen here listen here
The world is so **** *******
Maybe all these terrible things are happening because it’s trying to be renewed
Our president is so whack
He keeps stabbing innocents in the back
Praising Arnold Schwarzenegger by acting as if he’s the terminator
Pero his wife’s an immigrant too
American dream who

We pretend to honor the OG’s who created this land
But now your trying to get them all banned
claiming them all to be rapists and murderers
Be humble sit down i'm tired of all these racial slurs

He says “We cannot aid Puerto rico forever”
But really we need to be working on this together
Puerto Rico is just a metaphor for how this president sees all Latinos and people of color
He does not see us as his equals, nor does he sees us as his fellows

Having the mindset being male and white
Is the only possibility of being right
Were all humans , we all fit in the same race.
We should not be considered by the color of our face
Yet somehow the white get all the praise
Why are we still stuck in this racist faze

Since 1963 when Martin Luther King said in his speech
“It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity. But 100 years later the ***** still is not free”
To this day even if they try not to say
The ***** is still treated so falsely.

Take a moment now to open up your eyes and stop all the self lies
Get rid that hate to open up the gate to a whole new perspective
A much more un discriminative kind
Then maybe just maybe the world wouldn’t be so **** *******

To quote a cliche,
Today is a new day,
Reclaim your imagination,
Stolen by the new generation;
Walk along not listening to Jay-Z,
But the heart beat of your own city:
Start to reclaim, your life,

Embrace the cultures of others,
Forget the pain; we're all brothers,
Enjoy a coffee on your own in a new cafè,
Who knows what that will bring your way,
A new set of friends for new experiences,
Or a new partner; a real change of appearances,
Start to reclaim, your love,

Believe in what you are,
Daydream while gazing upon a star,
Tell a stranger that they are beautiful,
For no other reason than to be thoughtful,
Make someone smile because you can,
Because all those above certainly dont give a ****,
Start to reclaim, your personality,

Enjoy life because theres nothing left to do,
Smile at someone, why does it matter who?
We can forget stereotypes or expectations,
If we all become one as seperate nations;
Something we can all achieve by giving happiness,
By lifes smallest acts of real human kindness,
Help others; reclaim their lives, thoughts and love.

A note to men from a woman: I'm sure you're tired of reading these,
but this one is crucial, I won't blame you for every problem in this world.
But I'm asking you to read the whole way through please,
for we've all been told to be seen and not heard since we were a small girl.

When you approach us to talk, don't look at *** walking on legs,
and don't talk to us as if you'd speak to *** itself.
Don't tell us to dress nicer, 'cause then we'll feel like we're dressed in rags,
and feel that pressure to look for a man for wealth.
Not every woman will use you, but some will,
and not every man will **** us, but some do still.
Truth is, we are treated differently, but so are you,
but we get to pull our discrimination out of our pocket when it suits us best,
Pocket is a metaphor, some workplaces "suggest" wearing skirts and something to show off the chest.
Worst part is, most women then do.

When a man loses a job to a woman; no one bats an eye,
"They've got an equality quota to fill" and that isn't a lie.
I'm sorry for that standard, for whoever is qualified should get the prize,
but we've lived in a world of participation awards and protest cries.
That being said, we almost always work under or for you,
not every time, but most times, you know that's true.
I can't speak for the wage gap, for in Canada we all earn our wage from the same,
but every woman I speak to works harder and longer then the men around,
for myself I stress to go above and beyond for my own pride and name,
while the boys all laugh and talk sports into the ground.

When you want to compliment us, please try to think of something other than our appearance,
Something that doesn't equal "you are pleasing for MY eyes to see."
We'd never say "you look like you've got a good ****" though I'm sure you might want to hear it,
but wouldn't it be better to compliment each others manners, hard work or creativity?
Tell a girl she's beautiful on a date, 'cause that's when she tried to look nice for you,
not when she's living life, she isn't bait,
especially not in sweatpants with an up-do.

You can hold a door open for us, and we can hold a door for you,
We can all hold doors open for each other.
Chivalry is dead, but common manner's will do,
we should treat one another like a sister or brother.
"Men and women can't be friends"
Well to that, I say it's a lie,
and so is the message that it sends,
that we are just meant to procreate then die.

Final message to men, and this one is so common it's insane,
But when we are nice and smile, it isn't to flirt,
It's be polite and sweet, it's that simple and plain.
So sticking with being polite, I'm sorry if your ego is hurt.
Don't claim we lead you on by being nice,
and don't use the word friend like it's a bad thing,
'cause that just proves you're looking at us like a vice,
even if you think you wanted to give us a ring.
No matter what you do for a woman, or your relationship with her,
gives you the right to enter her body without her soberly saying yes,
Imagine if we entered your urethra with needles over and over,
that's the closest comparison I can think of, I must confess.

Now to my females: don't cry wolf when you make a mistake,
I'm not talking about victim blaming, I'm talking about taking it back when you regret it the next day,
'Cause that hurts a real case of violation and heartbreak,
just because you have a boyfriend or the guy last night now has nothing to say.
When a man calls you a *****, please don't you get angry,
It's a compliment in my eyes, cause you spoke your mind against his.
A ***** has a spine and a mind, and that *****'s mind is free,
I would change my name to *****, maybe in front of it with "Ms."

"That's just the world we live in."
"That's just the way things are."
I don't know about you, but I believe we can all win,
In changing it to "the way things were " in a future not too far.

For you see, we are not each others natural enemy,
The real evil in this world drew this idea with great creativity,
to distract both him and her, and you and me.
They organized it, exaggerated it, and flashed it on a TV screen,
to keep our attention away from what's going on behind the scene.

So to all justice warriors who are obsessed,
still hold your torches and pitchfork in hand,
'Cause truth is no matter what 99% of us are all oppressed,
and right now by targeting each other, we work into the 1%'s plan.
All genders and races, we are all allies,
Look into our eyes and faces, and you'll see the ties.
By keeping us fighting one group or the next after that,
We don't have the energy or attention to go after the real threat.
It'll buy them time, while we buy their production line, and their wallets grow fat,
and we'll remain their pawns in their game, and they'll have the coin to place their next bet.
This was written as a spoken word poem, which I've never been overly fond or fluent with. But here's my opinion on the ressurgence of feminism. The truth is, we are being pitted against eachother on purpose. The same people advertising the "me too" movement are the same people who have sexually assaulted women/men for the most part. We don't need feminism, we need equality and humanism.
