Such amazing strength,
To be so weak and
Yet survive.
Weak by choice or station?

It is weird
That a story told from two mouths
Can be totally different.
Not one is similar.
The story you said you saw
Is not what I saw

You could look for me in every corner of earth
and never find me.
Even if all the world were glass
and the water clear,
even if you and I were the only ones
in a white plane outside of space and time,
I could be in front of you, invisible,
just out of reach.
As you search with arms outstretched,
and I, about to smile my smug smile,
winner of my own game, I falter —
because things could have been so different.
Scarlet Niamh Sep 2019
The sun is in her eyes as she glides
through the trees, her hair tangled
with ocean, and she is extraordinary.
Looking at her, I am stranded
in that musical way, only a leaf
floating on a wide, wide river.
She swims beneath.
Miles away, I hear the winds reciting
her name, and even in September, she is a summer
watching the rains appear, reappear,
birds flocking in confusion.
I close my eyes and line the pages
with constellations, see the stars murmuring
on her forehead. Gold glimmers
in front of her eyes, my eyes,
and I am no one, nowhere.

Will I be stuck in the past forever?
I miss
when it was
just you and
I.
With birthdays passing by I remember the good times when we were each other's go to person. What happened?
My Type Sep 2019
When our bodies have the same rhythm,
and our mind sings the same song
Then...
why do our hearts beat so differently?
