What are the chances,

I keep seeing these wolves, and

you keep coming back?

Tie up a ribbon
Make sure it stays
Tugging it tight
Make sure it's strong and intact

******* a ribbon
Hoping it stays
Tugging it again
Strengthening its hold

******* a ribbon
But it is starting to come loose
It's untying itself
It's coming down

******* a ribbon
Made it so pretty
It looked beautiful
But it has loosen
And it is gone

Even if
I were to tie it up again

Will *you
stay?
Ribbons always untie themselves, don't they?

Inspired by B2ST's 'Ribbon'.

2:51 a.m.

In the dead of the night,
Is when you truly come alive.
You are a chance I'm willing to take
And it has been so long since I did.
May this split-second decision
Turn into wonderful memories.
So when we part again, maybe for life,
You'll be a happy memory in the dead of my night.

Just can't help but feel the burning anticipation in my chest. And I can't sleep.

it's like
no matter how well I know
or how many times I experience it
or how many times I'm back stabbed
I still want to see the good in people.

and I still expect there to be good in people
and when there isn't
I'm disappointed
and I'm let down
and I'm sad
and even more than that- I'm angry

I'm angry at them
and I'm angry at me.

how many times am I gonna go through this before I learn
before I find good friends
or people who really care about me

I need to get my act together
to find people who have theirs together.
Francie Lynch May 2016
Next time is indeterminate.
Sometimes it never arrives.
This time is the right time.
I've offered buckets of promises,
Boxes of apologies,
Truck loads of regrets,
Warehouses of chances,
But there is no next time.
The crystal's broken,
The hands are frozen.
Kaye Natividad May 2016
“We take chances,
decide to risk;
wonderfully live the moment,
the way it should be.
How can I forget,
that today is not meant to last?
Seize the moment;
jump to start,
never worry whether
we’ll fall or fly.”

Open the floodgates
You seem afraid to do so
You seem to believe
I'll be swept under
And taken from you forever
You said: "You already have enough to deal with"
But, I doubt you've considered,
That being locked out by you,
Is the leading cause of my pain

Open the floodgates
When I was left alone
I uncovered my strength
I learnt to get by on my own
If your words cut deep
If I must do so again
I'll heal myself
I'm not afraid to be pulled under
Not anymore

Open the floodgates
Though, your suffering may cause salt stains on my cheeks
Though, how you see yourself may crack my heart in two
Though, you may have sent others fleeing in fear
Though, it seemed you were only truly cared for by a few
I will not give in
I'll stand tall
I'll push through the currents
You won't see me fall
Unless I'm on my knees before you
Until your walls have crumbled and your heart is within my reach
I'll gather every ounce of strength
In order to make it
So I can pull all your broken pieces into my arms,
Pour the contents of my heart and soul into them
In an attempt to show
I care
In an attempt to show you
I'll always be here

Open the floodgates, my love
Look into my eyes as I swim through the force
Simply to cradle you in my arms
Know this, if I can't make it to the other side
I will die trying
I won't give up on you

Open the floodgates
Give me a chance

I think that there will be some people you never lose feelings for.
Not completely anyway.
Regardless of the circumstances, that spark remains year after year.
Like one of those candles that reforms from the melted wax.
Always ready to be relight-
just waiting to see if that spark burns bright enough again to warrant a second chance.

I
can't
wait
for
my
chance
to
cater
to
you.
Day 1 of National Poetry Month. I am aiming to write at least one thing a day no matter how small.
