Standing next to her is like putting myself next to Aphrodite or Helen of Troy
and still trying to demand attention
her beauty alone captivates and blinds the world
those pools of coffee brown eyes and dark thick curled hair
wrapping around my neck and flooding my lungs

Yet I wouldn't like to find myself in any other place
even Aphrodite deserves someone she can trust
I see her for who she is
I see the insecurity behind her eyes
I refuse to let someone worshiped by so many for her beauty feel so ugly
at her side I get to tell her that her beauty does not stop at her skin

Beauty dives into her flesh  and runs within her veins
it coats her heart in a rich and healthy glow of glitter and of gold
my Goddess here on earth, Aphrodite
you aren't a goddess because you have a pretty face

You have more love in you than your heart can handle
that is what makes you so powerful, so beautiful, and so beloved

they say that aphrodite was the first olympian
and doesn’t that fit?
the concept of love arose
before anything else, before hateful eris and warlike ares

like apollo’s hyacinthus she grew;
not from those gentle spring slopes but
from the frothing passion of sea foam from the tumultuous violence of the waves she arose
beauty, in all its manifestations
before all

Walking on eggshells
You never knew what that quite meant
Until she came along
Aphrodite on earth
Tugging at your fingertips
Loving all your curves
Whispers in the night

She took your hand
And dragged you along
Through her personal fairy tale land

Her land
Her confidence
Her freedom so loud
You could see an eagle next to her

Why couldn’t you be like that?
Maybe she would’ve stayed if you had
But you had the voice of a mouse
The freedom of zoo animals
The land of the not-so-free

Perhaps she got sick of the endless hiding
You called them adventures,
hoping she would buy into the idea
Of sliding, sliding, sliding
Deeper into the closet
she had so proudly dug herself out of

It wasn’t meant to be
The girl of the trapped
And the girl of the free
Yet they so strongly held on
To giggles and cuddles
The love of your lifetime
But soon she was gone

beast out of the darkness
frozen in time
majestic seahorse
carrying Aphrodite
grace rising effortlessly
abysses grip released with ease
wielding her magic over moon goddess
while she imagines the first eclipse
illuminated ring circling
shades of darkness
dominating the sky
goddess Selene rests her motion
etching love in eyes
through lasting heartbeats
reflecting the rings
true brilliance
setting the sky on fire
being
one in the sameness

true warmth of benevolence

abysses grip released
luminescent fireflies
dancing with blithesome delight
pensive and observant

She told me
I was young, handsome,tall,
well sculpted and brave,
She worshipped  me,
She had blinds over her eyes,
She was not my Aphrodite.
I was not her Adonis,
I fled.
I am lazy,
I am afraid of cockroaches,
I snore a lot,
I love to watch football on T.V,
I sometimes forget to leave the toilet sit up,
In short, I  have flaws,
I am human, not a God.

she's breaking.

her heart has been torn to shreds and the remnants are scattered across the floor.
her thoughts are swimming into treacherous waters infested with sharks.
her soul is shattered and is piercing her skin bringing her delicious pain.

he's breaking.

his heart is being strung together by the hope of someone giving him time and love.
his thoughts are hooked onto the idea of a shining light saving him.
his soul is so pure and vulnerable that not even demons could poison him.

they're both breaking.
and they both need to break each other's fall.
inspired by me and my boyfriend's story.

with eyes spotted with stars
and lips painted with blood
the perfect mix
of your best dreams
and your worst nightmares

she loves like Aphrodite
fights like a fatale
bleeding light
spitting blood

people touch her and warm
people abuse her and blister
with hair as soft as silk
but hands as rough as granite

she smells of honey and jasmine in spring
but tastes of rusty iron and lemons
her body is a wonderland
but her heart is hell in an ***** form

a voice as soft as fleece
but a scream as sharp as a blade
many fight for her
many fight against her

she is a shooting star
and a fallen angel
satan loves her
gods envy her

you won't learn her name
or her heart
but you’ll learn her history
and the list of names she broke before you

I look in the mirror and I'm talking to myself
about how I can not let anyone touch my heart.
For you have gone and have not looked back yourself,
you threw my gentle heart into the bin. Tore it apart.

I wanted to shout: Love, do not leave me here alone!
Don't hurt me and leave traces of blood in my heart!
It doesn't matter that I once loved you, now you're a stone.
I resign. Maybe I wasn't a good candidate. I wasn't smart.

I was waiting for you for a lifetime, but was all in vain, for both,
in time you showed me your true face, by the way you kiss.
For I don't give away my spirit to whom makes an oath,
but to the one who'll give me a hand down in the abyss.

I looked in the mirror and all I saw was an error in two,
unanswered questions in different colours of a war.
If it's a monologue or dialogue, I'm not staying in the queue,
anyways, I don't believe in the beautiful Aphrodite anymore.
