Our love - an Oxymoron
Mudassir PZ Jan 2019
Our love was an open secret, I thought
But you had nothing for me, did you not?

Here I was thinking, we were meant to be
Eternal, forever – same difference.
I looked at you with rockets of desire,
You looked at me with deafening silence.

Your thought, a few years ago or some more,
Brimmed my mind with memories bittersweet.
Then you drained my heart out, fully empty
No drop of love, no sign of life – dead beat.

Not even when you came to say your goodbyes,
Did I feel so horrible, so much pain.
But, you stayed left, and I’ve been living dead
My love or your goodbye, which was in vain?

We’re an Oxymoron, in the same vein
You’re just the “Oxy” and I’m what remains.

On her toes
Mudassir PZ Aug 2017
There is this girl that I love so much -
Sculpted by the angels on their hallow day.
Whenever she didn’t croon, she would just sway;
She was a wonder in herself, as such.

She walked up to me, I was very anxious.
My heart pounded, like it would
Break and dash out of my chest if it could.
Thoughts were vague, random and various.

Every inch she closed in, seemed like a mile;
Spellbound, I looked at this lady; She
Stared off into space, her first time, maybe.
Couldn’t jump the gun, but it had been a while.

Before I said anything, she stood on her toes,
Laid on my fool heart’s grave, a pink rose.
Kissed on my cheek, whispered goodbye -
Nonchalantly caressed my love to die.
The poem is about a beautiful girl that a boy has fallen in love with and still loves her to this day. Although, the poem begins like the girl is approaching to propose her love to the boy, its actually quite the opposite - she's breaking up with him. She parts with him saying that he is just her friend (laying of pink rose).

And so she stood there waiting by the shore
Her feet settled into the warm white sand
The sun set her winsome beauty on fire
For hours, until it couldn’t anymore

Dismal sky, beset by clouds, turned blue
For they took no notice of her at all
Those greyed with benevolence did cry
Not every passing ones, just a few

Nothing weighed down her heart
Years of waiting, drawn-out as the horizon
Instilled hope that brimmed the sea
Eyes affixed, her hands held an apple ****

At night, the cold moon would not pry
When she looked out from her window,
Who she longs for so much nor
Did the stars cared to ask her why

A promise brought her this endless chore
Which she took on unwavering
For she lived countless eternities and
With love, she will live countless more

Weary feet drowned into the white sand,
She stands there waiting by the shore
To wake the sun up for another day
With His favorite **** in her hand

If not for a lifetime
Mudassir PZ Sep 2017
If not for the feelings, just for the fun
Stay with me for another day and
I’ll pin the sun in the sky

If not as a guest, just as a prisoner
Let me into your heart and
I’ll serve a sentence for life

If not for yourself, just for the heck
Make a wish, no matter what and
I’ll trade it with my soul for you

If not for real, just for pretend
Say I’m the one for you and
I’ll dwell in that alternate reality

If not for a lifetime, just for a day
Love me like there’s no tomorrow and
I’ll happily die in your arms tonight

A reminder
Mudassir PZ Sep 2017
I wonder if you remember that moment
When you walked past me, inobservant
My captivated eyes followed your walk
And I wished I would get a chance to talk

A chance to dance instead, I got
As you stood there lonesome in your prom dress
He lost you, going for a well-off girl
I finally found you, my precious pearl

We talked and waltzed all evening and night;
You dazzled like sunshine in new moon’s light
That’s when I learnt how foolish he was
To have parted with you and your love, alas!

I think and rethink of it every morning
And I often find myself beaming
Nothing much to hide, nothing much to say
Just a reminder of your flawless beauty for the day

Would you believe it?
Mudassir PZ Aug 2017
Would you believe rather if you see it?
Concealed in darkness, oft needing sleuth;
Sought by all, used by none, hard to admit,
As warm as the rising sun - the bold truth.

Would you believe rather if you see it?
Causing your breath, making you whole
In line with your mind, with your body, knit;
Yet, its cradle unknown – the conscious soul.

Would you believe rather if you see it?
Transient in the living, under and above;
Nobody too worthy, nobody unfit
For its myriad cures - the unselfish love.

And will you believe it only if you see,
The clandestine evil inside you and me?

The Bottle
Mudassir PZ Oct 2017
I collect emotions, like stamps
No one I can show them to
Some hurt, some chafe
But I keep them all very safe

All that my mind sees
All that my body experiences
Remain trapped in a cyst
Almost as big as my fist

I am a bottle – I think.
Can't say "I feel" that way
Because, I'm not sure
I can do that anymore.

My lid sealed tight
Filled from the inside
Forever brimming
Yet, never spilling

Happiness seems extinct
Desolation in every precinct
Of mind and heart
Both equally torn apart

True Love
Mudassir PZ Oct 2017
If these walls could talk
They’ll tell you of the pain
How every night tears
Bleed down my face like rain

This burden of hurt
Is too hard to hide
If I don’t find you
I will soon die inside

I have been waiting
Been waiting for so long
When will you be coming
Finally to where you belong

The day light fades and
The night conquers the skies
And under the starry night
I await the sun to arise

It’s just that you’re not here
Someday you’ll surely be
We’ll be so close and so near
There’ll be just you and me

All of this waiting has caused me pain and strife
But I know, true love comes once in a life

I’ll wait for you
For now and forever
I will always wait for you

God
Mudassir PZ Aug 2017
God
God is neither an 'it', nor a 'who'
At odds with religions and people too.
Is, was and will always be – they say
Kneeling, prostrating, devoted, they pray.

God isn’t a deity, an idol or divine
Nor dwells in temples or craves for a shrine
Oft summoned over rebuttals, belike;
By mono, poly and atheism alike.

God is the perpetual rain that can fall
Over the cold and unkind hearts of us all.
Soaking them in hope and flooding them with light,
Kindling the love and rinsing the spite.

God is the credo people should be told,
To be gentle with young, polite with old,
Kind to parents, loving to wife,
To be loyal to friends and call it a life.

Mortal is a universal axiom, hitherto.
God is a paradox, just waiting to be true.
An agnostic's idea of God.
