If you really knew me you’d understand why.
You’d get why I’m hurting you’d get why I cry.
If you really knew me you’d see through my facade
you’d see that sometimes I can be a bit odd.
If you really knew me you would see that I try,
I make mistakes, but I still get by.
If you really knew me you’d stick by my side,
you’d love and you’d help me, you’d stick for the ride.
You were sitting there, all by yourself.
I was standing with a book in my hand, across the hall.
It took some time for me to notice you.
Of course, you didn't catch my eye right away.
At first I thought, ‘awkward eye contact’.
And when I looked up again, you were still staring at me.
That was a bit creepy, until I saw this smile playing on your lips.
Your face was hard to read then, and is even now.
The way your eyes glowed in the shadows of the dark walls.
The kind of sound you made when you laughed, out loud.
The silvery voice that is so mysterious when you spoke.
Every little detail is up there in my head, never fading.
I wasn't planning on telling you all of this, about how I felt.
But I often had caught myself saying, “if only you knew”
There's a something in the way
You make me laugh at your stupid jokes,
The way you **** your eyebrows
When you are confused in math class.
Something in the way you
Play with my hair,
Something in the way you
Write.
Your words could change lives.
There's something in the way
You're extremely modest
About everything you do.
There's a something in the way you
listen and understand.
There's a something in the way you
Can just look at me and brighten my day.
There's a something in the way
Our inside jokes never cease to make me smile.
There's a something in the way
You are spectacular,
You are perfect,
*You are you.
Lesson One: Circles are never ending

Life is defined by cycles.
Whether i am in a bad or a good cycle,
I am confined to a shape.
I can choose to change direction,
but I have restrictions.
We are living patterns.

Lesson Two: Not every equation will need it's solution to be YOU.

One day you will be caught up in a love triangle. Your answer is him;
His solution is her.
Try as you might, you cannot subtract whenever you please.

Lesson Three: Always write in pencil

Permanence is scary.
I've been way to confident in whom I give my heart to, collecting pages in my notebook that i have to rip out and throw away.
I've made one too many mistakes made of ink so lately,
I've been writing in pencil.
The only thing
I want to remember
About math class
Is the way
Your fingers...
How they traced patterns
Up and down
The square of my back
Between 1:25 and 2:15
5 days a week
And all of the security you gave me
When I would turn around
To see your gorgeous smile
And hold your precious hand
**** me I'm worthless
...don't actually **** me though
...just **** me over
...I'm the definition of trash
Only if you knew,
If you knew how much I want to be friends,
Be friends with that silver beast,
That silver beast tonight,
Tonight just a few slits,
Slits on my wrist,
My wrist, to my thigh,
Just from my thigh to my sides,
On my sides, Up and Down,
From up and down,
To side to side,
Only if you knew,
If you knew how much I want,
I want to be friends,
Be friends with that silver beast tonight,
Tonight is the night just a few slits,
A few slits on my wrist, To my thighs,
From my thighs to my sides...
Only if you knew..

If only you knew
The pain you put me through
Would you do it again
If you had a second chance
If you knew you weren’t ready
Why didn’t you stop it at the first dance
Why start a heart
And then tear it apart

If only you knew
How much I love you
And after all I have done
And all you’ve done wrong
My heart sings a happy song
When I think of us
But my mind sings a sad tune
From the torture it is under

If only you knew
The hurt you’ve caused
The joy you have paused
To be in my soul
My minds reaching its toll
If only you knew
