And spoke to you in the language of the rain drops,
Whispered to you in the language of the flowers,
Chanted 'I love you' in the language of the melodious birds.

I closed my mouth:
And voiced my feelings to you in the language of the ocean's waves,
Delivered my message to you in the language of the gentle breeze,
Conveyed my feelings to you in the language of the twinkling stars.

I closed my mouth:
And spoke to you in the language of eye contact,
Expressed myself to you in the language of smiles,
Shouted to you in my sacred language of tears.

I closed my mouth:
And whispered to you in the language of the heart,
Recited to you all of nature's implicit language,
Spoke to you, softly, in God's silent language.

To the sun, for not joining her in her sacred daily prayers of selfless Giving.
To the roses in my garden, for not watering them on a hot summer day.
To the birds, for not participating in their daily celebration of life.

To the complete stranger, for not greeting him with a warm smile.
To the underprivileged person, for not treating him with humanity.
To a suffering soul, for not shedding a tear or a extending a helping hand.

To my neighbors, for not embracing their sorrows and joys.
To my friends and loved ones, for not joining with them in more laughter.
To my wife and kids, for being absent during some of their painful and Blissful occasions.

"Stop, stop!!!” my two-year-old shouts,
While running after the big blue ice-cream truck.
Bare foot, cash strapped, and out of breath,
He catches him in time to get his usual:
A bag of hot fries, pop rocks, and a two-ball ***** ball!

Now, times have changed.
My two-year-old, Ali, is now a 5’ 9”, 15-year-old,
Who’s sold his soul to sports and video games.
Even the big blue ice cream truck has changed,
And is now a bright yellow color.
The ice cream man has grown older,
Yet, he still asks for Ali with the same great big smile!

Looking into her streaming tears, I saw the sun's face smiling at me, and her arms reaching to embrace me!
