Wakefulness has come to be
A pale respite, a poignant dream
Reality has paled and ceased
To be of real devoir to me.

Amongst the living, I trail the dead
That intone from the Netherlands
And in their voices, they do spread
The need to meet their languished hands.

There in the dusk's cerulean shores
Towards the night's sapphire core from
Whence winged creatures dart and soar
I sleep to leave what I abhor.

With Morpheus I cast aside
The shell from which by day reside
In chiaroscuro paradise
I lift my head to meet your eyes.

By day you're nothing, dust and ash
And memories that shall not last
By night, draw breath, return to me,
Come back to life within my dreams.

*Original, Un-rhymed Notes:

The waking world has become surreal
After everything that's happened
All things are a pale shade of what they used to be
Those that aren't here call out to me louder than the scores of the living
I feel them, carried with me
Clinging, pulling me back towards
dreams.

I see them there, whole and unscathed

Everyone's a poet
Some simply have no clue,
But answer me one question;
What is a poet to you?

For me a Poet is a person,
a place, or thing;
To bring out such emotion
To make you cry or sing.

I know it may seem crazy,
But Darling look around;
A picture tells a story
Without a single sound.

A flower whispers truth
So softly in the ear
Of every child to close their eyes
So their hearts can hear.

A simple stone; grey and new
Could bring a proud man to his knees.
From his fathers name engraved;
Each letter tangled in his grief.

An unused baby blanket
Folded neatly in a woman's lap
Whispers what could've been
Of her child who will 'ever nap.

A sunrise over water
Rushing quickly past a bridge;
'Ever sings the tender stories
Of a young couple's marriage.

A man who neither speaks nor hears
Sits at home 'ever lonely,
But in a book upon his desk
He's etched vibrant sounds into his story.

You see, everyone's a poet
Some simply have no clue,
But answer me one question;
What is a poet to you?

aromatic coffee awakens senses
midst the gestured warmth of radiant
      smiles's 'tween morning brew,
reverently paused to catch
    the awe inspiring  poignancy
               of sunrise's exhilaration,
whilst cozily wrapped in the delightful unfurl
   of captivating poetry's skillful delectation
a rising ritual begun many blue moons afore,
  tempting consciousness, feeding soulfulness
    enlightening sensibilities as it
        enriches the day's appreciation
'pon the keen awareness of poets,
tempests from all niches of the world
coming together amid upheavals and serenity,
ceremoniously dubbed fierce confirmations
of words expressly borne, communing the
         artfully spirited of resourceful artisans,
     procuring special collective bonds that
               only poesy can wholly dictate,
they look upon us as enigmas
rather strange breed of puzzling characters,
     as this inexplicable endeavor
        escapes their stifled perceptions
         of conduit's musing reasonable facsimile,
we're merely cognitive passages for
    experiences on common ground
       in realizations of all-too-human foibles
          eccentricities, yearnings and fortitude,
released deliverance of  potpourri
serving up inky joy beyond expression,
    intention's distinction deciphering
      reflections in meditative affirmations,
breadth of unrestrained beholden visions
   conjured notions of paramount significance
wherein lies evidence of life's burnt offerings,
beginnings and endings of hearts' indulgences
wept in resolute  celebrations of existence

Strong winds may uproot you
Unsettle your stoic resignation
You will be shaken and stirred
Lot of ponderings and doubts
In the middle of nowhere
When gravity does not give hope
Become a fearless traveler
Encounter the strong winds
No matter where you settle
Continue to spread your roots, deeper
Your soul is still with you
Nothing can stop you from reliving
Every unsettling episode
Will teach you to be more resilient

As I looked up at the roof over my head
Silent tears welled up in my eyes
Thinking of those without homes, seeking for shelter
Those whose cities were hit by a natural disaster

As I filled my stomach with food everyday
Silent tears welled up in my eyes
Thinking of those in poverty-stricken countries
Starving, fighting the hardship for centuries

As I cuddled my little one to sleep
Silent tears welled up in my eyes
Thinking of those who lost their loved ones
Due to fatal diseases or firing guns

As I lay on my bed every night
Silent tears welled up in my eyes
Remembering all the things I should be thankful for
Especially for still being able to breathe
*And so much more...

I wear it- to shackle sorrows.
and breathe dynamite
In siren light.

'Purity'
Is blind--
As

Blackness questions
My fabric's regret
I have closed palms
And now I bleed-gum
Frets--

The silhouette-disjointed
With withering away
In disappointment

Digs a trench-
No bigger than a

Whis--per
Saying sorry.

Buy me a bottle of whatever you're drinking
cause I'm trying to bury myself in the grave next to your hollow bones

Pace through the traffic back and forth
Maybe I'm blindfolded or just plain blind

Buy me another bottle of whatever you're drinking
cause I'm tired of pretending I'm at war when all I want is peace

I'm staring at the stars, I followed your eyes there
Now I find myself praying you might shift your gaze
Maybe glance at me when I'm not looking

I'll take another round of whatever you're drinking
cause I'm hoping your skeletons are as dark as they look

Lately it's been too bright to sleep
I can see carpe noctem etched in your fingertips
Like a print: your identity

I'll have another glass of whatever you're drinking
cause I can't think of another way to get close to you

For I'm already buried by your hollow bones

I'll take one last shot of whatever we've been drinking
cause it has to be better than drinking the same old **** alone
I don't feel the same way as I used to, and I'm more apologetic than anything. But ever since I met you, you've been easy to write about.
And I won't consider this fiction, because at another time it was true.

There is no gloomy season
To a man who delights in his mind
Crazy though he may seem
His wild existence is our lesson
For even in his queerness, he shined
Living what a lot of us can only dream

Still nobody can fly to where he has flown
For they can never be as brave as he
He is a world on his own

*Unlike you and me

From the very beginning
When I fell hard for you
Running on feelings that I kept denying
Slipping into your river vein that drowns me
Tripping over your anger, sarcasm, flaws
And everything that you pushed away
It was all beautiful

You are beautiful

I want everything
And I made a promise to myself.
I want to love you till the very end.
It's always been you from the start.
All your imperfections.
I want everything
I want you.
(Read it from bottom to the top too)
