These dead stares across the shopping mall
Wouldn't I care if I could have them all
Fingerpainting these eyes
**** photos: camera shutter sighs

But her breath is morse code
And my words are falling
Her dial tone dilates
As her moans are calling

She fell in love with a filter
And I fell in love with someone's daughter
We took pictures in the summer time
And she threw them into the water

When she lies, her cheeks flush
She swears that she doesn't care much,
as she sits in her underwear
with a light grin and a heavy heart.

She felt her pulse by the bed light
She was sad that she was alright
I watched her paint her dad on fire
while holding infant her.

I heard the window shatter
She never said what was the matter
I found her on the driveway,
broken like a family picture frame

Scars on my heart
Scars on my hips
I think I'll die
With your name on my lips.

We can define a moment,
Sweeter than innocents,
Making sure you're safer than you are,
Letting me know if your body calls,
Nectar from the flowers you smell,
Learning how to love,
With your feelings maybe gullible,
But heaven sent from above,
How to ~ would be informarable,
I use to love chasing you in the dark,
When midnight struck,
Trying to find the pieces,
Like I was dancing with the devil,
Thorny figures in your shadows,
Going thru the same process,
But the people that you associate yourself with,
Don't care about love, but just to fornicate,
Any confromation to your past,
I will have your back on anything.

There’s a reason for all of this
There has to be a reason for all of this
Millions of billions of cells had to multiply, divide, and die just so you could stand here and say there’s no reason for any of this?

No

I refuse to believe this
It’s not an accident that we exist
Because someone once told me existence is resistance
And we can still win this
All we need is a little patience and persistence

Because objects in the mirror
Are always closer than they appear
And the only illusion here is the length of the distance

You’re going to be fine
You’re going to make it out alive
Repeat what I just said
And if doesn’t sound right, repeat it again

Because every time you draw breath, it's another protest
To every life death has possessed
And the fact that you made it this far with this shadow at your back
Means your stubborn lungs make up for something your hopes lack

Know that there’s truth when they say this too will pass
And each moment you hate is immediately replaced with one that stands atop the past
This pain simply cannot last

But sometimes simple anchors aren’t enough so we’ll tether our ships to mountains and brace for bad weather
Taking each wave like the ground takes the rain until it cleans us for the better
So look up and pull yourself together

There’s still a sky hidden up there behind the clouds
This is all just the prologue
And there’s still a truth somewhere up there in the sun
Slow down, there’s nothing to outrun
We are not the ghosts of the things we’ve done

So curl up your fingers into a fist
And let stubborn knuckles meet the concrete
Don’t worry if your hands bleed
Instead, greet the earth with the same force it gave you every time you fell down
Then, protest gravity by standing up and making yourself perpendicular to the ground

Go slowly now,
But speak so loud that the silence has no choice but to listen
And exit now if you want to but promise to come back because this isn’t over, it’s just an intermission

Because no matter where we were when it began
I promise, it’s nothing compared to where we’ll be at the end

So please, stick around and see how it ends.
This is a piece I wrote to remind myself and anyone else struggling that this isn't what we were meant for. Hold on.  Just continue to breathe and I promise whatever is plaguing you this very second will end. You are so much more than this. Please, promise not to leave.

Don't lose heart
You have enough love to win
And many other hearts to be won
Divert the flow of your love
Make your life worth living for many
Than craving for one

Poet lives in his words
A part of his soul
Written across paper
Ink that flows
Bleeding the poet’s heart
Poetry holds life
Beware of the risk of
breaking your heart
before falling in love

darling iridescence
the mind is a vessel swimming in ideas, until the break into reality--waves are receding from the shoreline of thought,
crashing crescendos of melodies
that ached to be heard
And
words that longed to be written
And
memories that once resurfaced--

All gone.

Dreaming is a poet's land and
I ache for eye sight and control and the free flight of my subconscious.
Reality sigh
"Each day is a gift and not a given right."

Stop taking what you have for granted
Appreciate the little things
Everything means something
Everyone wants to feel they're wanted

"Leave no stone unturned"

Try everything once, maybe twice
Look everywhere for opportunities
Never ignore what you truly believe
Remember, this is YOUR life

"Leave your fears behind"

What's the point in being scared
There's always a possibility for pain
Without some breakage, there's no gain
But never jump in blind or unprepared

"Try to take the path less traveled."

Never follow the worn rut in the ground
Make a new, curved path
Leave the past in the past
There's still something amazing left to be found

"If Today Was Your Last Day"**

Would you be ashamed of the steps you've followed?
Would you regret some things from the past?
Would you do anything to take those things back?
Don't, just rejoice, smile. There's no time in life to wallow.

strewn across
Darwin's

Quiet
and
reassuring

Like salve
to my
mind,
soul
and
inconspicuous cracks
I can see more stars here than I ever could back home...
Incubus' "Wish You Were Here" came to mind.

DC raw love
these tears that i cry
is the blood from my heart
which is cut from my sins

my wings have now been clipped
as i am now numb with fear
as my feelings come clear

i now count time second by second
drowning an unable to swim
looking for you

trying to shed this skin of sin
to hopefully find you one day

i pray to god everyday to find you
but my wings have been clipped

clippped from the heavens
of a life without you

Love is when you are missing some of your teeth
but you're not afraid to smile
because you know your friends will still love you
even though part of you is missing

Love is when your hair is falling out
but you don't wear a wig
because you know your friends will still love you
even though part of you is missing

Love is when you lose your arms and legs
but you don't hide away
because you know your friends will still love you
even though part of you is missing

Love is when people accept you for who you are
and you can relax and breathe free
because that's what love is
