I watched the trees dance tonight
and oh what a lovely sight--
seeing their limbs sway in the breeze
watching the caresses of the leaves
as the trees swayed to and fro
their undulating movements made me know
that the wind is music for the trees
as they dance to the melody of this unrelenting breeze
and--
While watching this strong, insistent southern wind
I had no idea how far down a tree could bend--
but as I watched it occurred to me
these trees were dancing just so I could see
the beauty and grace and splendor too
of the joyful life in nature pure and true.

It really did feel like the trees were performing just for me.
I loved watching them dance in the wind...

Say something witty
Don't lose your mind
Whatever you do
Always say that you're fine
Because people can't know
How you feel when the snow
Piles up too high
Where you can't see the sky
Don't say that word
That was all you heard
As people complained
About the sound of the bird
But now that bird is gone
Just as quick as dawn
And in the meadow full of snow
Lay a sleeping fawn
And everybody knows
How that story goes
When the innocent is left
To the hands of its foes
Without their protector
They are open
To all forms of attacks
That they will rope in
And I hate to see
Just how nature can be
Especially when I'm not speaking of
the nature of animals around me

Walked along a dusty dirt road
hoping to find a place
where I could just unload
this heavy burden of grief
that weighs down on me
and before long
I found myself
perched under a huge shade tree--
the wind blew strong
tossing the branches and leaves about
and I kept hoping somehow
this tree so huge and stout
would look inside of me
and somehow help
to just set me free.

Trees know far more
than we humans do, you know--
so often trees stand tall and proud
and continue to leaf out and grow
while we humans stupidly
continue to destroy and wreck the land
and all the while the trees
just keep standing so proud and grand
--so is it any wonder that I dare
to hope this huge tree will help
that it will somehow care
about all the burdens I carry now?
I suppose it's too much to ask
of this sacred gift of nature right now...
I truly love and respect trees...

I sit by the lake,
                                 on the lush green grass,
gently try to break
                                  my inner thoughts,
and silently assimilate
                                 chirping of birds,
rhythmic swaying of trees
                                 by the sweet breeze,
stare at the white cotton clouds
                                 spread on the chimerical blue
and try to soak the pure dew
                    till the morning remains new.
I love the morning sunshine in a pure blue sky after rains :) :)

Once a place of crossing,
  on this sensuously and
precariously warm
February day
I have come to be still,
and to watch, and to listen.

Shadows of trees,
so immensely tall,
stay oddly motionless
under green river water,
even as the surface
moves and swirls
carrying itself ever onward.

Leaves and mud are newly wet;
walking is softer, soundless.

Below the path winding upwards,
melted ice sings again as water.

I drink in its sound, soul diving
heart first into perfect, liquid treasure.

It stood there, tall for decades
Years how many, no one knows
Until one night, falls it down
As harsh wind that night blows.

Seeing it fall, we all weep
Through the night, lose our sleep
But day comes and forget we all
....
Until
....
A lassie seeds a sapling small.

fire
the sounds of sirens cries
filling the valley with sighs

the mountains with a roar
on a walk through the forest the
woods  laugh with every step

in the dark with
nothing there but growth
all god's creatures

asleep , a step
a foot paw or human
approach

knowing you should
be afraid at attention
crane every hair up

on end to hear
your forefathers and mothers
or gaze

from a tall mountain
and listen to the
words spoken

in the breeze?

I  walked  under  clear  blue  skies.
My  feet  making  footprints  in  the  golden  sands.

I  shaded  my  eyes  and  peered  across.
At  inky-blue  mountains  stretching
Endlessly  beyond  the  vast
Expanse  of  water.

Seashells  scattered  at  random
Lay  embedded  in  the  soft  sand
Showing  off  many  beautiful  colors

I  sat  for  awhile  and  dozed  fitfully
Listening  to  the  soft  murmuring
Of  the  gentle  incoming  tide.

The  tranquillity  was  finally
Interrupted  by  an  excited
Yell  from  a  small  boy  fisherman
Who  had  hooked  a  minnow.

As  it  grew  cold  I  walked  on
With  a  clear  and  refreshed  mind.

Trees

I am a peculiar tree
Growing half in rock
And half in the sea

The winter winds do bother me
I need the spring to set me free

I envy ivy trees
So full of green

I can't stop the gale
But I can change my sail

I was happy being a mountain range
Admired by those wishing to explore
One day I caught sight of quite a beauty
This mountain range made me eager
To explore peaks and run down slopes
Feel every dip and groove of rough terrain
And find my way through every cave
I want these plates beneath me to quake
So that my range can be with your range
Let me be the snow that covers you whole
To feel myself melt in your warmth
Say you'll have me and give into desire
Allow my prints on your wonderful earth
For the future explorers to envy
Maybe then my yearning for you will cease
Or maybe I'll stay exploring forever

I found myself wandering along the path
in the woods the other day--
I was alone (or so I thought)
when I began to pray
and as I stood next to a tall and aging tree
I thought I heard an angel
calling out to me--
I didn't realize tears were falling down my face
all I wanted was a caring embrace--
someone to tell me that all will be okay
and then this angel came to me to say,
"do not shed tears, my dear one--
the day will come when you will know
just where it is
you're supposed to go.
Until then, relax and allow
your heart to smile
and be ready for whatever comes your way
and allow your soul to rest awhile

i've gone through
hell and back again
to chart the skies of a
divine entity twinkling
intermittently against
the black abyss
of outer-space

fragments of life
light years away
effervescently evanescent
reminders of a faction
still vying for
truth and hope and love
in an apathetic galaxy of
snakes and liars and frauds

a meteoric rise that shatters the
atmosphere at just the sight of
hair dyed black as the darkest
corners of our infinite cosmos

pardon me if my breath catches
on the lip i bit subconsciously
if you think these cheeks have
flushed with pink you should
hear the heart that shudders
beneath my chest at
the manifestation of
beauty exquisitely expressed
in that solitary photograph

more than a mere
image of memory frozen
momentarily in time
this snapshot simultaneously
sets you free and captivates me
a symphony of liberty marching
1,096 miles away to
the sure and steady beat
of your own drum

you look like a thunderstorm
and i am almost afraid of how
much i want your rain to fall
on me and your electricity to
tumble down my spine until
i'm deaf and dumb and blind but
even still
i'll chase the lightning

If I am feeling the need to purge
I head on out to nature's church
Where I can feel peace
Where I can have quiet
and practice my amen in nature's diet.

Do not know which I like more
Listen to an owl call for his mate with a hoot
or when the tree frogs start singing and follow suit
Have a picnic under my favorite birch
oh yeah nature is my church

Do not know which I like more
My favorite coffee while watching the sunrise
or watching all the colors of a sunset in the skies
Seeking out treasures and trails to search
oh yeah nature is my church

So let us show a little appreciation
and give a thanks to the man upstairs
When it comes to his creations
We should bow our head in thankful prayer

Who says I am lost if I wander
but I can get lost in God's wonder
It isn't hard just look around and search
Nature should be all our church
I got the idea of this poem after listening to the beautiful song by Maren Morris ~ My Church.  If you haven't heard that song give it a listen  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rd-V0LuQ0v4
