WATER AND FIRE
Grisha S Dec 2020
These two elements were enemies since dawn

When they fought, the whole world would be warned

As heat met cold, smoke would alight

While they quarreled, the land stood in fright

The Fire had a fierceness to her that the Water could not match

The heat could paralyze you, even the smallest of a scratch

But she would lose her temper whenever she talked

The Water took advantage and would continue to mock

The Water on the other hand was smart and full of wisdom

Her power was so mighty that it could wash away kingdoms

However, how clever she may be, her cowardice was known

The heat burned her when it was shown

Who lost? Who won? No one knows anymore

But we know that they fought a thousand times in the lore

It's a mystery when will they stop

But one thing is final,

While the Water runs cold, the Fire burns hot.

THE QUEEN OF NIGHT
Grisha S Nov 2020
Once there was a girl,

Who was often seen with her black dress unfurled

She had no family, no friends, not even a name,

But still, there were many who envied her dark fame

She was many times spotted in the night,

Sitting on a cliff, admiring the moon without a fright

Depressed about her past, sad about her present and future,

Knowing there will be nobody ever,

To her who will nurture

She had a pale face with deep and cold blue eyes,

In those, you could not see any secrets or lies

Away from the people, she roamed in the darkness,

Many said there was another world in which she would ingress

This girl was called by many names-

The Lady of Dark, the Empress of Shadows

As with her aura, she could frighten even the toughest of the foes

But there was one name that donned her a crown,

Though nobody would say it when she was around

For she was the one who ruled the land of no light,

That is why she was called the Queen of Night.

THE FIRE IN THE NIGHT
Grisha S Dec 2020
Hunting through the woods she would go

She would look at the animals as she heard the river flow

In the night, she hunted,

all kinds of animals –birds who flew or cats who grunted

As quiet as the night, she moved all around the green forest,

And stared at the sun while at rest

The unusual heat made her whole body shiver

Hypnotized by the bright light,

She slowly let down her quiver

The fire of the sun went inside her soul

Her eyes brightened with amber and her body had flown

She once again went into the night,

But now animals saw her with fright

No longer the silent huntress

Now a creature of fire and an immortal goddess

Instead of running, the animals bowed down

The birds took a bark and crafted a crown

The bears build a throne for her of black wood

The lions by her, on their four legs they stood

The moon shone as she was coronated

She turned into a new woman as she incinerated

She sat on the throne with her arms rested on the side

She had now become the Fire in the Night.

This is a poem about a talented huntress being rewarded by nature. Read how the fire transforms her into another creature entirely.

THE MIDNIGHT DANCER
Grisha S Nov 2020
She danced through the night,

Under the shadow of the moon's light

Her white dress flowed as she spun

When she moved, every spirit and soul on the earth became one

Her face sparkled with a twinkle in her eye,

It shone as bright as the stars in the sky

Her grey eyes looked calm and serene

Her movements as flawless as anybody had seen

No jewellery adorned her, just a white rose in her hair,

Its sweet smell would chase away any despair

She was truly a beauty with her hair black as coal

But it was unlike her pure white soul

Like a bird in the darkness,

She danced with such a finesse

But when the sun came soaring high,

She would disappear in the blink of an eye

As the people gathered on the streets,

On the run, she would be

No animal or human could find her when she was gone

She would return in the night and vanish the next morn

The light chased her away

The sun left her astray

Unlike the shadows they made her suffer

But she was an elegant dancer

And the midnight belonged to her

-Grisha. S
This poem is about a beautiful girl who absolutely adores nature, and loves dancing at night. But what happens when the light peaks through the sky and reaches her?

VOICES
Grisha S Nov 2020
A girl not born but made with trauma

Her story so bizarre, it seems like a drama

But it's not

Her childhood, so terrible it was

None could face that amount of loss

The girl's mother was in her grave

Died at the hands of her father who treated the girl as a slave

He beat her delicate face every day

But no words ever came out of her mouth

For there was nothing she could say

Once she decided to throw herself into the river

So she could drown and leave this life forever

But a voice inside told her no

The voice wasn't hers

But it was calming and slow

Days after, she discovered more voices

One different from the other

But they all told her one thing-

Things would get better

One day, her father beat her again,

But the voice from the river now came out

That voice became a person and began to shout

The girl, proud of her voice

Took some clothes and a horse, and ran away

Because she would go anywhere but stay

She did not know where she was going to go

But she wanted to get away from that vile man she called father

She didn't care cause wherever she would be

Her voices would always be with her.

ALL ALONE
Grisha S Dec 2020
She sat on the rock in tears

No feeling was felt

No happiness, no anger, no fear

Except one, which was total despair

Her face so still, in the water she would simply stare

She had a family and she was an alluring beauty

But despite that, she sunk into nullity

Good looks did not get her to talk

Every word hurt her

Whether in sadness or mock

People spoke to her, but they didn't know her facade

Because inside her head, that feeling fought

They wouldn't call her a silent mystery

But again, they didn't know about her misery

Every word she spoke was a sign of pain

Though outside she was fine

Her mind was no more sane

She couldn't move without feeling despair in every bone

But she knew this was a pain understood by none

Her life flashed before her eyes as she stared in the water

There wasn't much to say

All she saw was a clutter

For the last time, her body started to shiver

She didn't wait now

As she fell into the river.

It's about a girl who is weak from the inside and can't handle the pressure anymore

THE ASSASSIN
Grisha S Dec 2020
In her dark cloth, she would walk around

Next day a dead person would be found

She didn't live in a tower nor did she have a home

But, with a silver dagger in her sheath,

She would roam

The men she murdered were evil and cruel

She believed it was her destiny to **** these fools

She didn't shout out about her deeds,

Nor would she brag about helping those in need

The Assassin was little loved among the lords and ladies

But the poor and oppressed secretly cheered for her,

As she was the cure for their maladies

Likeness was anyway not what she looked for,

It was the satisfaction of right people sleeping soundly she craved more

She was known to wear a mask

Rumour was to hide her lies,

But her main motive was not to be recognized

Known to be as quiet as a shadow, for she was so secretive

Nobody could tell if she was ugly or lucrative

Some said she was bad, some said she was good

But all agreed they didn't want to be where she stood

Called a killer and murderer

At the mention of her name, they would shudder

Even those who praised didn't want to be her

They wanted her to do the work,

While they slept in their fur

The Assassin didn't mind nor did she care,

As all she wanted was to see the world in its full flare.
