For She is Only Death
Solus Dec 2019
She's a memory you should cherish but you can't because she's gone.
She's a painting you should value but you can't because she burned.
She's the honesty that you should treasure but you can't because she's lost.
She's a thought you should track, but the train has been derailed.
She's the stamp of approval to but she has been misplaced.
She's a song you should sing again and again but you can't remember her melody.

She'll never see the light of day from her dark and blackened cell.
She'll never sing her song to you because her voice is mute.
She'll never share her time with you because she's lost her memory.
She'll never feel the winds soft caress because her senses are gone.
She'll never hear the peaceful sounds of nature because her ears can't hear.
Her ears are broken because of your persistence,
Her voice is quieted because of your protest,
Her eyes are blinded because of your stupidity.

She could have heard your apology for all the wrong you committed to her,
She could have told you that she forgave your actions,
She could have seen what you did to amend your wicked ways.

But broken was she, broken by your selfish actions.
And the light of day, she will never see again

She'll never live on anymore for she is only death

Dear Colors,
Solus Sep 2018
Dear Colors,
you are oh, so bright,
Shining, glowing, beautiful.
So why must you become so dull,
When I need you to shine brightest?
When my world is crumbling,
Or when life is just plain hard,
I'd like it, dear colors,
If you'd shine the brightest,
When I can't.
Life can be though, and your colors dulled, but keep shining and everything will work out.

If you survive
Solus May 2018
If you survive,
Go tell the world.
Not that you survived,
but of what happened.
Bring awareness to those,
Who were left in the darkness.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki,
9-11,
Parkland shooting,
Only naming a few.
For those whose voices are forever quieted,
Speak with the weight of their legacy on your shoulders.
But don't carry the load alone,
There are others who feel the same,
With tear-stained faces, their burden is heavier than yours,
So shoulder the pain together,
And survive.
Tell the world. Let us end this suffering.

It was one of those days
Solus Apr 2018
It was one of those days,
when words flowed out of me like rivers.
It was one of those days,
when I felt the only thing holding me back from flying was gravity.
It was one of those days,
when I felt so innately unstoppable, I acted too brave.
It was one of those days,
When each moment was better than the last,
and every choice that could be regretted would be made.
For who thinks of consequences when the night is young,
Only when the day fades and a new one begins
do we think back and say,
"Oh, it was one of those days."
We all have those days when we are just emotionally messed up and have to forgive and forget and move on with our life.

Falling Up
Solus Apr 2018
So fall, oh so carefully,
Up to the sky, towards the stars,
A delicate dance with death,
But eternal life without resonance,
Is one and the same.
passing on to the next adventure

Echoing into the eternal
Solus Apr 2018
Have you ever danced in the street?
Barefoot, in the moonlight,
And as you dance,
The stars are your spotlight.
The ground is cold and hard to touch,
But tonight is your last night.
So don't look back... or down
They are there, all around you.
Learn to trust in what cannot be seen
And you will see the imperceivable.
Blackly staring into at the unknown,
beings of past generations welcome,
Those who's Era is over.
for those important to us who have passed on

Fire of the phoenix
Solus Apr 2018
In the smoke and ashes,
Lying beneath
and speckled with soot
is an egg quite rare.

The light is dim,
the egg cracks open
and out emerges flames
with heat so intense.

Fire becomes a phoenix,
almost unreal,
feathers of flame
shimmer with heat.

Taking flight into the darkness,
frighteningly beautiful,
is the King of Fire,
for he has shown me my will.
I wrote this poem when I was 9. I just found it in my poem binder. It was one of the first poems I ever wrote.

South Civil War
Solus Feb 2018
South Civil war
Another cold-blooded war,
Again the North succeeded,
Above the expectations,
Of our Founding Fathers.
We are called the “South”,
Even though we are
Supposed to be apart of this nation,
And yet our pride got the best of U.S.
Because there is no I in U.S.
And no “liberty and justice for all”,
In the cold shackles of war.
With death hanging in the air,
And riding on every bullet,
With the merciless slaughter of human life,
And no remorse behind it.
And even to this modern day,
Our blood that is shared
With our civil war ancestors,
Resents the choices made.
To be put in the shoes of a ***** slave,
In this darkened time of war,
With the harsh casualties in their everyday life
And their energy being put to use against their will.
For those in the south whos blood still feels the pain of war

What did you expect?
Solus Dec 2017
Well, what did you expect?
A parade and celebration to honor your return?
A banquet and feast laid out just for you?
A thousand people waving and waiting to give you gifts,
every person outdoing the other, each gift more extravagant than the next?
For me to fall into your arms and say that I was waiting for you to come back?
Well, then you've got something coming.
I'm sorry if when I opened the door to your knock,
I didn't react like you thought I would,
But you were the one who said we were over
So I quit crying over you and moved on,
I tried to tell you before, that if you dump me,
You wouldn't get a second chance.
You found someone else with a lot of money,
And so you dumped me and picked her up.
But now you're back and wanting me again,
Your smile and open arms are tempting
But I know better than to trust someone,
Who told me they would never choose another over me.
So don't mind me as I tell you to never set foot here again,
And slam the door in your face.
Because in truth, while I am moving on with my life,
Inside a part of my heart, I'm still crying,
Wishing, I could rewind time.

You don't know me
Solus Dec 2017
you don't know me
not who I truly am,
not who I am on the inside;
not the other part of me.
you don't know me,
you haven't seen me,
not that hidden, secret part of me,
not that place inside me,
that place in the shadows,
this place that is concealed,
from the eyes of others.
you don't know me,
not yet,
maybe not ever,
but at least you got to meet,
the bright, cheerful side of me,
the side that is always,
trying to be happy and at
her best for the sake of all.
we all have our secrets
some are dark,
a few darker than others,
but we have our bright secrets too,
those that shine bright like the sun.
for now, let us focus on these bright secrets,
for our dark ones may be sad,
and they might darken our day,
because there will be a day,
when we can let our dark secrets show,
but for now,
                                         You don't know me.

Violin
Solus Oct 2017
Virtuous as the goddess of the sky,
In every way like history,
Once played for the gods;
Like the melody of harmony,
Intricately woven throughout time,
Notorious as the wind.

I'm sorry, Mom
Solus Oct 2017
I'm sorry Mom, for the times I complained,
And for all the unnecessary tears,
I'm sorry Mom, for all the times I yelled,
And for all those wasted years.
I'm sorry Mom, for my stubborn behavior,
And for the times I ran away,
From all of the problems, I didn't feel like facing
Forgive me, Mom, for I was lead astray.
I'm sorry Mom, please show me the door,
I think it's time I leave.
I need to find my own way of life,
and stop destroying yours.

Untrustworthy
Solus Oct 2017
Understanding the sin but,
Never halting in progress.
The addiction that,
Rules our life;
Underestimating the enemy,
Standing frozen in time,
The fear all around us.
Where we are stranded,
Our lives at risk,
Reminding us of,
The choice we made
Harnessed by the craving,
Yourself slips away.

The Love I Once Felt
Solus Oct 2017
Potent in the early hours,
Happy as a bird in spring,
Like the love, I feel now,
That wraps around my heart.
I feel the ribbon of red,
Like a bow on a gift,
That ties me to you
Connecting us across miles
Of land, water, and walls.
But will I see your true face,
Before the next snowfall,
Not a picture or painting,
But truly you,
Standing before me,
Like you did on that stary night,
Three years ago.
