nothing can be sacred
as Holy War yet wages
(Super)Heros are made necessary
as commoners are made powerless
If you enjoy something creative,
set out to do it.
Don't just live vicariously,
gain some skills.

If you fear failure,
you fear opportunity.
If you embrace imperfection,
nothing can stop you.

Do what you love.
Love what you do.
Anything shy of that
isn't worth your while.
I understand my easy-going nature
has been misconstrued by some to be Apathy.
Wholly not true: at the very worst, it's Ambivalence.
Delicious, homemade, spicy scrambled eggs,
good-*** coffee with some organic milk spilled in it,
and a rather strong Screwdriver (orange juice+*****);
not to mention reading and writing a poem or a few
all the while listening to some familiar Music, too.

*Breakfast of Champions!

A perfect start to another Day in the Life.
Chillin' this morn' with my cat and dog.
They try to teach me lessons, and I stubbornly decide not to take notes
but then again, they do the same.

I love my Life
when it's on my own terms;
it only ever isn't
if I disallow myself to be myself.
Humans*
are not the Apex Predator;
certain ones are:

The Police and Military
are now the Apex Predators
If you appreciate a Person or Thing,
express it in a mutual atmosphere;
say "Thank you", or whatever is appropriate.

It goes a very long way.
Whether literal or metaphorical or both. Preferably both, I think.
Just the slightest bit of appreciation
goes a long way.
One,
who never allows One's Self contrast,
shall ne'er appreciate
what faculties One already possesses.

Sacrifice lends itself to Appreciation.
//
Sound is my Pantheon,
Music is my Prayer,
Noise is my Art;
and Silence,
my canvas.
does not necessarily mean that you like a particular thing;
it means that you recognize the significance of a thing
and it's effects on concurrent, as well as subsequent, things.
"For One who is religious,
you've got quite the open mind!"

"For One who is an atheist,
you've got quite the open mind!

Come,
let us philosophize
o'er my finest wine!
'Twixt our worldviews, I feel
we've each so much to teach
and each even more to learn!"

"Should we allow ourselves. Après vous!"
"After you" in French.
It's all too easy
to talk ****
*a priori.
A priory literally means "from the prior," but figuratively means "without experience," especially referring to a type of epistemology wherein a conclusion is reached without having experienced the phenomenon about which the conclusion is drawn, such as Death or hypothetical situations.

Basically the moral here is
"Don't knock it 'til you've tried it"
Certain men may be pigs, and maybe some feminists take it a bit far,
but when it comes to sexism, I certainly don't think it's restricted to ***;
and when it comes to racism: there's no such thing as race.

Far too many **** Sapiens are just ******* vapid and odious when it comes to their personality, in general. It doesn't matter if the narrative is One's ***, or religion, politics, perceived gender, art, science, the weather or any other elite form of edified philosophy.

I want to believe that everyone has merit-
that they cannot be judged by any external entity
that, because it is external, lacks the whole context.

Still, some people spoil my attitude towards people a bit.

Humans are my favorite counter-example; yet, I love us. Somehow.

Jaded though I may well be,
I seek foremost to be kind, but that makes you a doormat.
One seems to have two choices: be a push-over, or an *******.

I seek the middle path:
empathic and kind, but also self-interested.
..something of a "passive-assertive" person.

Returning to the point:
I'm just an equalist, I guess.
Egalitarian. Individualist.

Sexism? Racism? Nationalism?
Why the **** is it even an issue?

Haven't we grown up at all in the last 10,000 years?

If someone's skin color, chromosomal composition, language, wealth, ethnicity, or where on Earth they happened to be born is that big of an issue to you psychologically and socially, there are much bigger problems going unchecked boiling over within you. The abandoned kettle whistles.
Good luck. Earnestly.
We're all counting on you.

People are people.
Worry about yourself and what and who you love.
Halfway to a rant and back again! May as well be a rant. Okay, it's a rant.
Wurde es je angesprochen
dass wir vielleicht zu einer Ära Zerfalls
angekommen sind?

Ich bin schon tot gewesen.
Das kann ich nie vergessen.
Ich behalte es noch im Gedächtnis:
Schlaf ohne Wachheit; Wachheit auch ohne Schlaf.
-------
Has it ever been mentioned
that we may have arrived
at an Era of Decay?

I've already been dead.
That, I can never forget.
I hold it still in memory:
Sleep without Waking, Waking without sleep.
Both a poem, and a personal exercise in writing in German as well as translating it figuratively as well as literally into English. Complex Grammar, **!
To seek life is to find death.
Too seek health is to find disease.
To seek compassion is to find malice.
To seek wealth is to find poverty.
To seek victory is to find defeat.

To seek love is to find disdain.
To seek company is to find solitude.
To seek peace is to find war.
To seek comfort is to find pain.
To seek order is to find chaos.

To seek Heaven is to find Hell.
To seek wisdom is to find ignorance.
To seek bliss is to find sorrow.
To seek Enlightenment is to find illusion.

To seek control is to find indocility.
To seek awareness is to find a lack thereof.
To seek the conscious is to find the subconscious.
To seek waking is to find a dream.

To glorify a thing is to demonize another.
To demonize something is to arouse curiosity about it.

To seek anything is to find it's complement.
To isolate anything is to make inevitable the frenzied whiplash of it's complement;
It makes good sense for the Universe to work like this
in order to maintain Equilibrium; Balance:

Should we fail to chose to be the Arbiters, we'll make ourselves the Victims.
"Don't raise your voice-
improve your argument"
Art
Art
As far as I concern myself;
Life, and everything that may go with it
ultimately becomes a matter
of taste
and technique.

The rest is Luck and Skill.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
Art
Art
I feel I've discussed this before, but I feel compelled to write it, nonetheless.
To me, the purpose of my Art is not to be an epitome of an ideal Philosophy,
nor do I seek that it is thought of as a direct reflection of my Self or my Philosophy.

To me, the purpose of my Art is to postulate a question.
I hereby claim not to know the answer
I simply seek that we ask of ourselves these questions
because the pursuit of Understanding
is the Path to Understanding.

The Destination is unable to be reached.
Travel the Path anyway,
for it leads inward.

The Journey is the Path.

The Obstacle is the Path.

I hope that others find these sorts of things worthwhile, as well.

Let it be known:
I do not necessarily identify by my Art-
that is to say
I do not necessarily agree with my Art.
Art is an Expression.

Sometimes it is dark
sometimes it is a coping mechanism
sometimes it is funny
sometimes it is loud
sometimes it is abrasive
sometimes it is music
sometimes it is language
sometimes it is silence
sometimes it is true
sometimes it is simple
sometimes it is complex
sometimes it is improvised
sometimes it is planned
sometimes it is hyperbole
sometimes it is paradox;
sometimes it is all of that and more.

Art is an expression of the Artist.
Art is the Purpose of the Artists;
to reflect upon their Experience
and that of the Human Condition.

Art; in it's purest form,
whatever the medium,
whichever the Medium;
is a language of Spirit.

I see how this can sound lofty
but I beseech thee to look deeper.

Perhaps my experience is unique,
but I lament if that is the case.

Art, for me,
is a means of liberation.
A means of enlightenment.
A means of furtherment.
A means of actualizing logical and creative potential.
A means of interpreting Life.
A way of Life.

If you owe anyone anything,
you owe it to your Self
to express yourself purely:

That's the only voice that cannot be censored.
That's the only vote you're ever guaranteed.
Subtext:
Censorship is stupid.
Be yourself to your dying breath,
but forever seek to better yourself at the same time.
How can we begin to describe
that which we cannot perceive?
"We still find ourselves in the Dark Ages,
we simply invented artificial illumination."
Poetry isn't written:

Words are written,
and Poetry is read.
Once it is more about the manipulation of the medium
than it is about the medium itself,
art takes life.
Though use of line breaks is art,
it needn't use them at all to be so.

Punctuation isn't necessary, per se,
yet some tend to opt for it anyway.

Sometimes rhyme serves only to detract,
but it can also catalyze familiarization of the abstract.

Meter is a byproduct, but it can be deliberate;
some people like pop, but others jazz or prog;
rhythm means more to some than others,
and some recognize in places where others do not.

Some find it unnecessary to consider; a waste of time.
Some find it to be balancing and are compelled towards it,
and would have it no other way.

Whatever it means to you
is what's truly important;
you have to feel something
so you might as well express it.

Those who will understand
will truly understand-
though that is a different group
than those who may well say so.
Be not jaded: they overlap!

The Traveler does not so much choose the Way
as the Way seems to Shepard certain Travelers;
how is it that can be?

Call it:
God, Tao, Zen, Consciousness, or the Universe itself;
it is all and nothing; inside and out,
it's neither a thing, nor nothing,
so tread lightly and embrace the paradox
because it really is irrelevant
how One chooses to effigize it-
it's what One has within already
that will serve as One's salvation,
and that's really all that matters.

Should we seek to harbor that of others, as well,
we could become as we've seldom been known to be.

In any case, we'll meet in the light;
whence we've all come, to begin with-
whence we've been ever since-
whence we've been blinded
seemingly of our own volition.

Be conscious of what makes you Live
and then help it to actualize,
all the while seeking that others
may do the very same.

Blessings upon thy Path-
Basically became a prayer.
The Art of Life is not
avoidance of obstacles;
such a task is folly.

The Art of Life is
manipulation of obstacles.
Beware:
some who try to hug you,
to pat you on the back-
may well be the very ones
fostering patient and tretcherous daggers
just itching to attack
A paraphrased passage
from Sun Tzu's immortal and timless classic
"The Art of War."

Be cautious of the sword concealed by a smile.
Why the **** is there
all this disdain for varied techniques?

So what if I like altered guitar tunings?
Sorry that all my guitars
are in D Standard or drop C.
Yes, even the ******* Classical guitar.
I never meant to inconvenience you,
your Eminent Prestige!

Maybe it's a problem
on thy knavish behalf
that you can't cope
with variation within the
Sacred realm of Art.

Don't ******* tell me
what to do or how to do it.
Don't ******* tell me
my approach to my Art is wrong.

Don't ******* crawl to me
when you want to learn how it's done
and I won't say I ******* told you so
when you confess your perspective lacks variety.

I will still teach you, though,
that is, if you will listen.
I will still teach you, though,
if, indeed, I can.

I will still teach you, though,
but only if you can teach me, too.
I will still learn from you
despite your rigid adherence to traditionalism.

I will still learn from you
if you don't ******* condescend me
about how I decide to do it
about how it feels most natural
about what I like or why;

just ******* deal with it
like a true Artist;
accept it and bask in it,
that everyone's technique
is unique.

Besides,
be it not that very variation
that lends itself to the plethora of Art
that has been, could be, and will be made?

Be it not that very variation
that leads a school of thought
away from being so incestuous
that it kills itself off?

Be it not that very variation
which makes Democracy feasible?

If Art be neither
democratic or anarchic,
then I guess I'm no Artist.

Just ******* deal with it.
If you can't: then shut the **** up,
and let us, who can deal with it,
just ******* do it.
Sorry to be so profane,
I realize it limits my audience,
but I don't ******* care.

But, ultimately,
what is profanity
but whatsoever we decide?
True Art is no thing; it's a way of life.
Art is not an object, it's a philosophy.

The truest Poetry is not written or spoken,
it is simply lived.
The nice part
of loss of Purpose
is the freedom
to ascribe your own.

Being alive as a Human Being is good:
Having this opportunity to experience this holy reality is more than I was ever guaranteed.
Thus I give thanks
to all of these things
and Thus I give thanks
for all of these things.
Thus I give thanks.
I intend "holy" to be a sign of reverence and respect as opposed to the assumption that the Universe and our Reality is an artifact of a deity, other than itself and each of us and all of the things within it.

This is not meant in any particular relevant order other than simply increasing physical size of the lines.

Addendum: Certain things pre-require discretion and/or moderation.

"What's good?" is a colloquialism for something between "How are things" and "what's up" here in Northern California, to which I'm never really sure what to answer. I am, however, usually tempted to offer a facetious retort, so I suppose this exercises that urge in a more serious manner.

Addendum redundum: This whole thing sort of looks like an obelisk or sword or something.. cool!
Socialized Medicine
as well as
Autonomous Warfare
propagated by the same administration;
how very far
we
as Humans
have come.
Don't make people you like regret doing something nice for you.
Find a worthy goal,
set your sights on it,
and work every day
on drawing nearer to it,
even if just baby steps at a time;
for,
as it has been so well said
by Confucious among countless others:

'tis by many small steps
rather than by few great bounds
that greatness can be achieved.
To consciously decide
not to even try
is to opt for the preclusion
of possible success.

That is to say,
such a strategy
is a sure way to fail.
"Hey!
What the **** are you doing
playing electric guitar
at 5:30 in the morning?
I thought you didn't feel well!"

"I don't. But, believe it or not,
it's making me feel a lot better."

"I thought I was supposed to make you feel better!"

"Yep.
What the ****, right?"
I guess she didn't think it was very funny..
Repetition isn't necessarily redundant;
if it can repeat without redundancy,
it deserves to occur more than merely the once.
A primary flaw of Democracy is the error of assuming popular opinion is in accordance with objectivity.

That's not to disrespect Democracy,
but to illustrate that People are fickle.
Think for yourself, but consider others.
It's a funny sort of Understanding
when One postulates an assertion
based wholly upon interpretation
and then proceeds to refuse to allow
the reply of the Subject
before forming subjective conclusions.

So what if you're being facetious?
I can take a joke;
and if I'm the subject of the joke,
at least I'll get the context,
if it is, in fact,
a valid hyperbole to draw.

If, as you claim,
"Reality doesn't cease to exist
just because one choses to ignore it,"
then why, I must inquire,
would you send that note
and then not allow a reply?

I see a Jungian pattern here!

If you take
all of what you see
to heart so readily,
then I fear for your sanity;
I anticipate
your exclusivity.

All I do
in this particular medium
is put ideas out there,
hence the title
"Philosomancer;"
as I have said before
(not that anyone cares to investigate)
I don't necessarily subscribe
to the notions I consider and write down,
they simply provide a map
of where I am,
of where I've been,
and, perhaps,
in Time,
a notion
of where I'm going;
a truly powerful piece of information to have.
I have three messages to which I cannot reply because the sender disallowed communication 'twixt themselves and me. Pity. I love earnest discussion. Seems that sets me apart rather than unifies me with others.
Curiouser and curiouser!

It's sorta depressing,
though in a rather funny kind of way,
being single and studying the Kama Sutra
as I have been
that I may adequately worship
the Temple of One I may encounter
who proves to be worthy
of such tactful exaltation
to Life,
being the longest improvised act ever!
Seek to not need the tool,
yet be prepared
so that should ye end up needin' it,
the tool be available.

That's what we in the business call *"potential."
Instead of nourishing extensive philosophical quandary,
it seems that they'd rather suppress it in the name of:
"THIS IS HOW IT IS, SHUT THE **** UP
AND DON'T QUESTION WHAT YOU'RE TOLD!"

to which one is seemingly entitled to reply;
"Jawohl, mein Führer! Mein Leben für den Vaterland!"
"Of course, my Leader! My Life for the Fatherland!"
(A Patriot is one who is loyal to the Father. Patri=Father. Know yo' ******' greek word parts, fools!)
Any form of Authority
which demands that it isn't questioned
is by definition Questionable, at best.

Worse still are those
that cannot be wholly tangibly questioned
such as Religion or any group with exclusive access to Information (read: Government)
Those 'Rules'
sound are more restrictions than wisdom,
and thus I refute them.
Student of Life;
Teacher of myself.
As I sit basking
in warm winter sun,
I believe I have found
a part of a source
of my most modern paradigm:

Invariably,
as I meditate,
I sometimes begin to feel a sort of dizziness;
As if I'm in gyre;
being swept away by a some
internal, transcendental, spiraling
current:

It isn't comfortable..
Yet is it possible to find comfort.

It falls between descriptions.
It's like some uneasy shifting.
Flux. Adrift in some vortex..
A vortex..

I seem to be finding
that there is an imbalance of delicate-
yet resilient-
energies
churning and evoking the universe
I find within me
as well as those that exist
within the physical domain.

From this, the relevance, to me, seems obvious:

Reharmonization is in order.
Why do we let authoritarians rule?
Why don't we just mock them
as we sit back and enjoy the show?
You are a force much greater than yourself.
What greater obsticle
could there e'er be
then One's own Self
and One's mortality?

Aye, therein lies the rub,
that is to say
an opportunity
to overcome
and to grow:
One's very own Dharma,
or dare I yet to say
One's suppos'ed destiny‽
Never judge yourself against others;
only judge yourself against your past self.
Popular media is so often autosatire.
