A vast wide plain,
marked with waving wheat.
Sunsets of purest hues,
marking day's complete.

Hill of rolling flint,
dance with laughing flames.
Weather dances too,
never quite the same.

Some call us the heart,
with that this land agrees.
For freedom is the heart,
of this great country.

Free is the Earth,
where there's endless sky.
I see its sloping curve,
both continuous and wide.

No my friends,
you shall never find a truer place.
As Astra per Aspera,
and the brilliance of this great state.

Praeludium in via ...

Vidi heri mane quando ridebam coloribus egregiis,
Eradere auro , trans tabula caeli , tentorium ...
Excelsus super omnes montes mundi mole fratres
Nimborum desertum , ubi non sit humana exsuscitatur .
Et non vidi nobili altitudo futura ...
Bonitas terribilis Vidi , *** indomitus.
Ipsos victu pascuntur finguntur mendacii .
Proelia ante hos annos multos, in carne nostra, amissis vate sacro .
Nos sequi vestigia veterum monumentis, ut ostensum est ;
Latebunt , quo melius in manifesto , vultus ingenio tegmina.
Ego sum primus , et consilium ... Memini tamen alta urantur
Humanis uti licet , *** aliena michi negotium.
Lorem quid ad ignorantiam et extra ,
Quia vidisti me in tenebris, in ardentem rogum meum .

I am shaking
Fearful, as the shouts grow louder
Every breath leaves me aching
The hourglass has begun to fall slower and slower by the hour

Reality has crumbled into mere dust sliding through my fingers
Wordless, soundless, screaming
Avoiding the empty, shattered mirrors
Left to pace between thoughts, as my hands do the cleaning

I cut my arms on glass, but I'm not seeing the bleeding
Dripping down my arms from my veins are jokes gone wrong
Sitting, in the glass poured over me, I'm leaping
It won't be too long

I've done a bad thing and I can't be forgiven
I am smiling at the spots in my vision that look like stars
I'm dancing, swaying, to an unknown etheral rthym
The whispers are seeping through my gray walls

Words have become a mush of meaningless *******
I hear the floors loosen and soon I am falling through

your head through
the illusion of this world.

what is outside

as you pass through
the curtain of pleasant shadows

for the head may lead
as your hair tingles on the edges
and the heart chooses to remain
in the nest
it has made

'a latin verbs poem'
Proverbs make the essence of human behaviour bearable.
On the contrary - human behaviour doesn't have such a tremendous impact on our thoughts. When you behave, you don't think much. You just do it! And if your habits are healthy, then you're a lucky one. Or a wise one. Discipline is in structuring your will. Strong will and work builds character. They say your character is your destiny.
Practice !!
And never forget: wether you're doing or non-doing
( wise or unwise for the observer  ) ~ always listen to your heart.
The heart has 5000 times stronger electro magnetic energy than our mind. Don't exhaust yourself overthinking or overworking.
Discipline doesn't suffice for moments in which we have to make a decision. Some decisions are important. Don't ***** your life!
Don't think too much!

A mouse broke its bones
on my neighbor's floor;
I was called in mercy,
as the angel of slaughter.
My heart was the water
in which it drowned.
Days later, the wound
closed when I met Circe:
my silverish lion's stony
fringe burned away in smolder.
I left her starry thigh,
her eyes like cask strength rye;
They live, we sleep - No,
we're awake, and the night is slow.

Such solidarity we created
On the hilltop with the cows

Discussing sassafras,
Our Chakras,
Summer-berry wine.

Per aspera ad astra
But without inhaling tar
We have come.

The cornbread with anise and wheat berries
Cruncy and sweet
Slathered with strawberry jam
Was such a luxurious meal
For us two tired wanderers.

We're left over from the '60s
Living in the past but in the moment
Listening to Mama Tried (well, she did!)
And crying over Wharf Rat
We model turtles, Celtic knots, a moose
Dream of yesterday and tomorrow
Say what we mean
Take a misguided turn driving home
And our minds meander to slumber and internal illusions.

A small Bronze plaque commemorates
the fate of Chaffee, Grissom and White:
Near half a century has passed
since their final, fatal night.

Ad Astra per Aspera-
a rough road to the Stars.
We do well to remember that
as we make our try for Mars.

The fire was horrific
and death, though quick, was cruel:
Like heretics of an earlier age
they served as human fuel.

Engineers by radio
could hear their muffled cries.
Thick black smoke drove back
the men who made a rescue try.

Poorly insulated wires
had given off a spark.
pure oxygen has fed the flames
on that distant night so dark

Ad Astra per Aspera
a proud epitaph for them:
Apollo’s sons who heard his call
to search the skies again.
On January 27, 1966, Roger Chaffee, Gus Grissom and Edward White became the first American Astronauts to die in the U.S. space program when an electrical fire swept through their command module on launch pad #34 during what was supposed to be a routine practice and systems check. The manned Apollo Space program was delayed 20 months while the cause was determined and changes were made to the capsule.  The program triumphed over tragedy on 7/20/1969 with the first manned moon landings

From the mud to the stars we sail
Space derelicts that fight troubles well
Running errands intergalactic
Treating travel like a punchbowl in hell

Turpitude rules in the hearts of the sane
New worlds don’t blend in the stem of the brain
Heavenly elixirs must be then taken
Lest those from below come up and take reign

Drawn to the beaches till the hurricanes come
Hostage and accomplice then become one
Psychic peace is violated
When worldly beauty weighs a ton

The wicked are estranged from the womb
Plucked out of the cosmos like a plume
Immense forces battle for worldly power
All that’s seen returns to the tomb

udprintede ord
i sokkerne, i universet
bare tage afsted, ud i himmelrummet, alene

A challenge was set before me,red rose blooming,
But my feet refused to take a step towards the danger,
my hands refused to hold onto the rose,
although my heart wanted to.

My fingers could've bled,
and blood could've been sweet,
The pain would've torn me,
I would've found meaning as well.

I was ****** to be a lover of chaos,
destructive idealism,
and moonlight.

Born as a child of nature,
born and died, and will live again,
Mighty fragile and weak,
but inside is what flames are missing.

Familiar with all,
I awaken with a thirst for freedom,
In it I am caged,
just to feel the purity of this life.
This poem is the consequence of growing up too fast.

Tell me about the stars.
Do you see your brother's eyes?
Your mother's smile?
Do you admire the dark
or the light that shines despite it?

2.
When I was in the fourth grade,
when neither of us could sleep,
my father and I snuck out of the house
and took a drive.
With a hand on the steering wheel,
and his other intertwined with mine,
I looked to the sky and
he told me:
Baby, someday you'll meet
someone and you'll realize our
homes are not always houses.

3.
Hold my hand and
I could be a home for you.
You walk through life like you
need nothing from no one.
If you let me, I would be someone.
I would be anyone for you.

4.
I once read that we
were created from stardust.
Beautiful boy, if this is true,
you must come from a supernova.
In the mirror
can you see how bright you shine?
Your fingertips have left me illuminated
and my spine has grow accustomed to the
constant shiver running miles up and down
up and down up and down up and—
Oh darling,
tell me the sun is no competition for my stars.
Hover you hand over my belly,
can you feel it?
I have been burning for you
for years.

5.
Don't you understand?
You are the light in the dark,
the stars in the sky.
Per aspera ad astra--
Through hardship to the stars
You are on your way home.
i wrote this poem in the midst of getting over someone. six months later, i don't know if it's for the same person anymore. ehhhhhhh. i don't know. it's a draft.

on the kitchen counter,
in my mind.

Let me off this bottomless ladder
you *******,
you fiends.
Difficult.
You said i crave difficult
You said you were "difficult"
If difficult is not wanting to die
If difficult is loving myself
If difficult is happiness
If difficult is feeling butterflies in my gut
If difficult is having a future
If difficult is a german shepherd
If difficult is shared cigarettes
If difficult is soft whispers
If difficult is a reason to wake up
If difficult is a busy small apartment
If difficult is holding each other
If difficult is hours upon hours of plans
If difficult is feeling complete for once
If difficult is laughing and smiling
If difficult is a loving embrace
If difficult is a rebellious fire
If difficult is puppy kisses and tight grips
If difficult is pancakes
If difficult is an angel, you
If difficult is the love of my life
If difficult is the stars in the sky
If difficult is love letters
If difficult is puppy kisses
If difficult is sleeping soundly
If difficult is a reassuring hand
If difficult is peace
If difficult is too many blankets on the bed
If difficult is an open heart
If difficult is being yours
If difficult is us?
You're ******* right I want difficult.
Ad astra per aspera.
might add more to this later i miss him
Lavender Menace Oct 2020
Lovely flowers shall wither much too soon for you my darling! I can sing in only runes near your broken corpse sewn effigy and I will steal the energy from that place that I was meant to burn.
So please my love do not rest for me.
And i will sew a  t h o u s a n d dolls only to bring to me your last lilac smile,
Yet only you whisper those ever dreaded words.
“Ars longa, vita brevis”
So i can fake a dandy laugh
At least I can give you that.
Oh! The last of my fears lie stainless and dormant, with the tears that would stain your neck
Yet “ad astra aspera”
And no matter how much your body will crack your sage blue lips, forever you'll be with your coal black eyes until our lullabye turns to a cry.
So I shall wait with deprived rest.
Dripping heads,
Frozen fingers,
P u r p l e l i p s!!
All the singing monitors and drippings bags turn pale and silent next to what your hands had told me by nightfall, oh baby hold me before i sleep despite all the holes in my feet. With faces and fingers that drip with salt
With jarring moans that echo not but
L I V E!!
And oh if it could be that these four walls could speak. They would stay in such mournful silence for all the death that they've been borne to hold.
OH! So I weep for these four battered walls!!
And i can still hear your cursed breaths jumping through the halls
And every single inhale delves in fear of being last.
I wonder if darling witch breath will halt to an end.
And dancing darling to your deathbed, I ask that slowly witch you dread.
For what are to be letters you'll sing when at last you are to end.
Then you breathe my name! You hold my hand and oh!!how it feels until i look at you with melting zeal!
...to see I was your last.

For darling, now that you are dead.
Poem. Boom. Ur welcome
charles Mar 2020
through hardship,

to the stars.

some day,

you will know who you are.

though the ground,

may reflect your worth,

and life, like a breathless curse,

just the stars will remain,

forever yours.
"ad astra per aspera"
how many times
have we heard it
repeated ad nauseam
how many times
has it been floated
like a balloon
above our leaden dreams

"to the stars through
difficulty" yes and so
why the stars
we aspire to them because
      they are there
maybe if mallory
had been an astronomer
maybe if he had been
a star climber

at least everest
welcomes
you to the top
of the world
at least mountains
may try to **** you
with great height
at least elevation
mimics transcendence
and who doesn't like
a good mime now and then

stars offer nothing
but distance
their light has long
gone out by the time
we reach them
and for good measure
if their light were still on
we would be toast
burnt not buttered
not jammed not jellied
crisp cinders of toast

stars are so many suns
they burn like black
furnaces they scorch
the synapses
of the soul
a consuming
inferno wild
and explosive
and dead
to us

we grasp for them why
they are not planets free
from ourselves
and all our space
detritus they are not
life not light
that illumines
more than more
stars then goes out
for good
and all this
after difficulty

never has inspiration
smelled so sweet
like smoke from
a raging wildfire
leaping over
mountains
to try to **** us
under the
canopy of
dying stars

(that's not writing, son,
that's typing!)
