Those eyes,
those cold almond eyes,
that once were welcoming
at the sight of me,
like a warm welcoming home

But now they swallow me,
like the sea swallows
an old forgotten treasure
About a curly haired barista I once fell for.

Will you be my Valentines?
                                                                                                                 No.

Oh, okay.

You rip my heart out of my chest,
Pink ruffles and all,
And crumble it up.

You swish swish swish it into the trash,
You feel so powerful.

It lays there,
Bottom of the barrel,
Crumpled and beat black and blue.

The pink ruffles are now zig zag bright red.
It wheezes out in desperation.

I scramble to the bin,
Trying to scavenge the leftover pieces.

I pick through the trash,
I look ridiculous,
But I can fix this.

My fingers run over broken glass,
Paper, and even banana peels.

I find it,
The last remnants of my beating heart.

It’s still crumbled up,
But this can work.

I start from image.

I steam press it,
Whisper it sweet nothings,
And kiss it back to life.

It beats.
It beats,
It’s beating.

My heart is alive once more.

Will you be my Valentines?

Yes, heart, I will.

With every word
The rush of night waves lapping across my mind
turn quiet
Your light enters the dark room of my soul
And I am redeemed

A low hum turns into a roar
whispers become chants
thunder drums beat into the heart
of all that needs telling

In a slow
carefully woven tale
An old moss-ridden porch
longs for company
in a deserted neighbourhood

A refugee
has found
Home

This is for you dear "Poetry"
You're skill of the existence in me.
My heart, what else so special could be
You are the product art protruding out of me.

I couldn't have found another way,
Without you, I was to meet the bay,
Rather vaporizing into the never-ending sky,
Without you I couldn't think of a day.

So as my truest companion, full of compassion,
You are the interpretation of my color creation,
Next to my subconscious submission
You're the color of love infusion.

Cuddle me oh poetry, wrap me in warm wisdom
Crown me the heir of your wise literacy kingdom,
Me the empress of your beautiful youth, would seldom
Leave, forget the art of grey graphite scribe and leave alone.

My valentine to your name,
Dear poetry, you're my courage aflame,
Could any pity fill me in shame?
As I lie under you acclaim.
Love note to my poetry, couldn't have survived without it.

You save
all your sweetness
for one lousy special day each year

But then
hardly notice her
the other remaining 364 days

Tell me truly
how this is supposed
to ever preserve any kind of love

Valentine around the corner
Give me your heart
Just that honor
You all I want for Valentine
Just be mine
Let’s ride around the sun
Through the rain
I promise we would be fine
Just your smile
The laughter ,
One little wink 😉
Enough for a sign
My heart beats for two
Me  and you
❤️
