Although you never spoke a word,
It was just a conversation I overheard,
Just like a flame that was about to go out,
the words that came through the wall felt like a blackout.
All you left behind was an empty shell.
Left with all our memories without a farewell.
Just like the box we buried, you seem to have hurried.
We could’ve done so many more,
But here you are no more.
As the rain hit me and the ground by thunder.
The stone stood malevolently snickering at me as if it was reminding me that you were now 6 feet under.
My only wish is for your peace, as I rest a flower by the stone only wishing that you’re now at ease.
A tribute to my best friend.

Why weren't we enough for you?
That's the question I used to ask
I didn't understand how you'd pick that over us two
to me it was not a hard task
but then I saw you and I understood
no one else could have survived the way you could
you'd go to any lengths to function like me
without the headache and anxiety
you'd watch your friends die and wait for your end
today or tomorrow; you can no longer depend
everyday is a struggle
and tonight you will smuggle
the last your body can manage
if you had stopped last week or even yesterday
you might have repaired that damage.

WE'VE LOST ANOTHER ICON,
THE GRACEFUL ARETHA FRANKLIN!
My mom is crying her eyes out. T-T T-T T-T
RIP to a legend! RIP to a beautifully talented woman!
(1942-2018)
If I could scrape it off of you
I would.
You know...

The pain.

The frozen fire
Whos burn Is just Numbness.

The funny mirror
That makes the good small
And the bad A blurry mess

The empty fear Of the nothing
You're afraid You've become

But you are not lost
Because when you wrote
On the train
I found it flying in the air
And I gave its warmth
To a cold man

When you cried through pen strokes
I draped it across a young womans heart
So that she may love again

When you loved the edges of everything
And then wrote it red
in paper cut
Blood

I held it like a map

To help those who
Need to find you

Yes...

But mostly to help you
Find yourself
For those of us who write to live
Live to love
And love to write

May this curse befall
Us till grave stone stands
We were teammates
We suited up
We showed up

We weren't stars
But we rolled in the dirt
With the best of them

Our blood ran red
Like the rest of them

Our sweat tasted salty
As the most athletic of them

Wounds and bruises
Ached like the most
Stalwart of them

We were Bulldogs!
We anted up our
Gifts and talents to
Forge a winning season

A flair for humor
Wry observation,
Encouragement, fortitude
And intelligence were as
Valuable as speed,
Agility and strength

We all pined for the
Affection of cheerleaders,
Bandmembers and the
Adoration of fans

We equally joined
In the chorus of
locker room banter
And honored the
Confidence of camaraderie
Such intimacy bares

We endured thankless
Adversity, while wending
through anonymous toil

As brothers
We grudgingly drank
From the vile cup of defeat

And passed the chalice
Of victory among us
To share the savory
Taste of triumph
As champions

The Duke of Wellington
Said “the battle of Waterloo
Was won on the fields of Eton”

I trust my teammates and
Not forgotten friends
Tasted sweet victories of
Happiness and success
As they coursed through
Their prodigious fields of life

And at games end
I hope their heart swelled
With pride to know they were
A beloved and Valiant Bulldog

In the shade of my carriage,
I think of all the times where
I just wanted to surrender to
my own inner darkness
I have been so afraid of life
of being a seed that never sprouts
My mind would become a storm
of emotion that would take over
me. But just like in the carriage,
there were cracks of light and I
thought of the many friends that
I had made. The many friends who
have supported me, even when I
didn't see my own self-worth and
my own talents. One being the ever
patient, very kind, Queen Sue, one
of many Queens of HP who I am
indebted to. A truly kind and gentle
soul who has broken from her chrysalis,
and flutters her iridescent wings.
Everything she touches grows, and
everyone near and far knows that hers
is a soul that gives so much. When I
boarded the ships and faced the
turbulence of my own stability,
when I was drowning and ready to
close my eyes, I could hear her.
"Don't give up!" her voice as sweet as a psalm
and as one made of pure light, offered me
her hand, and pulled me up so I could
breathe. Though it was hard, I managed
to calm my inner storms and return safe
and sound. As my carriage stops, I peek
out of the window and I can see her
waving from her tower. In her Kingdom
I arrived, and she continues to thrive
And her dynasty will be one of true
glory.
In honor of Queen Sue, one of the many Queens of HP!
And the Angel who Burns with a Kind Heat
Sending you hugs, love and blessings!

My Court is a battle
As a Queen, I will endure
so my kingdom thrives

Standing in gardens
My treasure trove of colours
that never fails me

Flowers bow gently
The winds make the tall trees sing
Rivers flow calmly

Scents drift in the light
I hear its sweet melody
As I stand with pride

A Queen now enters
The daughter of Spring and Deer
The tender Queen Fawn

Who smiles so sweetly
Fragrant, soft-spoken and kind
With deer by her side

Another Queen comes
The angel with a kind heat
The gentle Queen Sue

Who has healed her wounds,
broken her chrysalis
And spreads her warm light

Another Queen comes
Wise and soon to be married
Joyful Queen Donna

Who goes with the flow
A talented haikuist
with a flower crown

Another Queen comes
She who is always giving
The giving Queen Kim

Whose crown's a halo
And her words, so spiritual
fragrant and calming

Another Queen comes
Who has birds singing so sweet
The sweet Queen Robin

Who is a true joy
Whose words are just like music
A kindred spirit

And now a King comes
Who is very much like me
The great King Omni

Who is an artist
Who is both seen and unseen
Very much like me

Another King comes
Ever so mischieveous
The playful King Paul

Such a playful tease
He who makes me smile and laugh
And looks out for me

Another King comes
His heart is strong and tender
The wise King Edmund

Who writes for himself
Speaks so well of others and
how vital love is

To these Kings and Queens
Thank you for your melodies
You are golden souls

For now I do see
The true power of my quill
My ink is gold too

I write out my life
My pain, my fears and my loves
And my achievements

I must stay above
I will walk with my head up
and ignore the bad

People will hate me
But I will thicken my skin
to be a true queen

I will empower
And give you all your respects
and never denounce

I am a true Queen
With a Court that is growing
steadily but strong

The reign of Queen Lyn
Who is sensitive and shy
It has just begun
To these poets in particular, thank you so much for pushing me forward!
I'm grateful to everyone here to all my fellow poets on HP
You're all Kings and Queens of your own right!
Much love and blessings!

To my good friend, Sue
Stay safe in your chrysalis
I'll be here waiting

Keep your mind on you
I'll stay true to the promise
to write for us both

You are not alone
You are a kind and sweet soul
So regenerate

In your chrysalis
I will await in its glow
and for it to crack

The winds will sing sweet
And the Northern Lights will dance
And you will emerge

Shining, born again
With strong, bright, velveteen wings
With love as armour

With all your wounds healed
And all your scars now faded
And we see you smile

I know you'll come through
People may have struck you down
But you weren't destroyed

To my good friend, Sue
My hand's on your chrysalis
Just know I am here
Again, this is for Sue.
Whatever she is going through I know she will come through.
Sue, if you're seeing this, know you can take as long as you like to heal
in your chrysalis.
Me and other people here on HP will continue to support you.
Always <3
Sending hugs your way!
Your good friend,
Lyn ***

with shining beauty
This one is dedicated to Sue.
Take all the time you need to heal.
We'll always be here.
