I met a man, a gardener,
Who told of an auspicious seed.
He worked the seed, carefully
Its flower never seen.

The villagers would glance at him,
In times when things were looking dim
His ambitious eyes and sallowed skin
Reminded them to not give in.

When his work-struck shoulder stiffened,
strained back outed,
He still worked his seed.
And it never sprouted.

Until one off-beat Thursday morn,
the man did not get out of bed.
He passed away that fateful night,
The patch was left an empty stead.

The village gathered for the mass
A crowd with eyes of glass,
They stood and spoke, with admiration,
Of his hard-laboured inspiration - unforgotten.

Outside the Church, in the man's humble patch,
A seed sprouted, flourished - hatched:

Eden would have paled to see
The tree that came from this mere seed,
Hard work and dedication-
A tribute to his legacy.

Too painful to stand at attention
as he did back in the day
but this man, he's still a soldier
inside he's always that way

fought a lifetime for this country
chose a career we can never repay
I'm thankful for all he's given me
more than words can ever say

We're Blessed with various freedoms
all gifts, given to us from him
this man he is still a soldier
May God Bless him
and his "Hero Within"

This man he is still a soldier
and he casts a big shadow to fill
to the men and the women still fighting
I salute you all and always will.
Share this one every chance I get...

I heard the news today that you passed
Our Heavenly Father has you cast
In a play of angelic proportions
Made you pure from life’s distortions
As we grieve in our different ways
Our memory of you forever stays

I remember our day we had in a northern town
With sincere gladness, as you take up your crown
Retrospective moments I treasure all my life
As you lay at peace from your recent strife
I will think of you often with warmth and charm
So you rest well, my friend away from all harm

Your poetic words often struck a chord
And in life, you were rewarded for your word
Our chats over music, poetry, culture and esprit
Showed your enthusiasm for people like me
I only wish there is an opportunity for goodbye
I shall send my spiritual presence to the sky

In this lifetime there is but one of us to know
In your time on earth you had so much to show
There’s a heartache, as time closes in
A time of healing for us to begin
So fly on with wings that soar far and wide
In how you touched this life, fly on with pride
For a fellow poet David Swinden, also known as DarkDave in some poetry circles... sweet dreams as you rest, my friend

At the iciest  places your
Thoughtless  Calmness  brings
   Heart  Warmth   and Innocence
          Selflessly  Loving Daily      Is Easy
    Only    ,    For  you                    But
            Solemnly  Losing You         Is Very
Hard for some of the kindest in
    Our world missing you deeply
   At the warmest earthen core
Wild thoughts are like
Arrows
Safer in the quiver
                        Bow
When they shiver
and grow
Shaky when they dive
Poetry says Hello

Broken hearts left behind
Tears flowing like riptides
.
Console your hearts
Pluck out the shooting darts
For at His feet she lays
After a stressful stay
In a world that defines you by your Genotype.
.
The world beyond, we know not
But we know God
And He welcomes you home Tosyn B.
