Hiwaga Nov 2020
Sa bawat salitang binibigkas ng labi mo,
Para bang dinadala ako sa ibang mundo.
Sa mundo na kung saan kalmado ang puso
at pansamantalang pwedeng lumayo.

Nung minsan, tinawag mo akong mahiwaga.
Pero hindi mo alam na ikaw ang mas makinang na tala.

Imagine being in a world where it seems like everyone belongs and you are lost. Imagine going through your day feeling numb because you are scared of putting yourself out to get hurt. Imagine putting on a fake smile and not being happy at all. Imagine being surrounded by people you call friends but you don't even like. Imagine faking happiness because it feels like you forgot to be happy. But then imagine finding someone who turns that all around. Imagine finding someone that genuinely puts a smile on your face. Imagine finding that one person you tell everything to. Imagine not having to fake it around that person. Imagine all the hurt that they have healed. And that's why I say thank you for giving me happiness again best friend.
finding my happy place
Khaab Nov 2020
The snow storm had struck the world outside
And there she was sitting inside....in the dark
With a body full of bruises
Her arm was fractured
And her knees went weak
That she couldn't even stand.
The eye was all blue...as if punched brutally
Some wounds were deep...and they were still bleeding
It was hard to move....as it hurt really bad.

But then a gentle touch was felt
A touch full of love...by a loved one
The love was so warm...that it sat their like a bonfire
And it lightened up the whole place!
So much love...that it could heal every wound
So much love...that it melt her frozen heart.

And in the end...
The fire of love healed her
And she rose again like a phoenix.
Sometimes my soul is just the way I explained in the beginning. It hurts really bad inside and I feel a lot of anxiety. But my sister is the one who is always there for me...she provides me the strength and helps me stand strong. I feel really good to have her.

When I scroll down
And look at my older poems,
I wonder,
I wrote these?
I WROTE THESE POEMS!?
I find joy when fellow poets relate to my poems. When they like and comment, it's just incredible to see that people are going through what I'm going through, a reminder that I'm not alone. I'm grateful. Thank you! :)

... and i lay there,
listening to your heartbeat. the soft laughs we share as we exchange kisses;

i never knew it'd become my favourite sound-

your laugh, your heartbeat;

you are my whole world.

as i lay there, peacefully with you,
you've made everything whole again,

my world; until the end.

Please
I say.

Please don't go,
            I beg my grandmother
        when her breath wavers
                   and her milky eyes
                                land on me.
Please don't tell them,
                   I cry to my teacher
                when she caught me
                  smoking a cigarette
              on the empty rooftop.
Please don't break my heart,
                     I whimper to him
                       when he cradles
                               my wet face
                               in his hands
              which feels like home.

Thank you
I say.

Thank you for coming,
                    I greet the visitors
                        dressed in black
                  when they whisper
and peer at my dry eyes.
Thank you for everything,
                       I tell my parents
                    when they left me
            at the boarding school.
Thank you for the gift,
                         I smiled at him
                     when he gave me
                           pearl earrings
                                     to adorn
                  my unpierced ears.

Of course,
        Please and Thank you
can be
                            beautiful too.

Please
I say

Please keep him safe,
                        I plead to God
            when my brother left
                     to join the navy.
Please come again,
I called out to the customers
              when they stroll out
               of my bustling café.
Please buy me ice cream,
                     I grinned at him
               when he waved me
                                  goodbye
                         over the fence.

Thank you
I say.

Thank you my dear,
I chuckled at the little girl
           who said I looked like
                                       a fairy
            in my wedding dress.
Thank you for the surprise,
I cried with my best friends
       when they bounced into
                                 my home
                             with pots of
                          birthday food
                      made with love.
Thank you for life,
        I whispered to the trees,
                              flowers,
                         sun,
                    chocolates,
               myself.

They are manners,
but they are also much more.
     tell someone
          please
    and thank you

today.
this is to the simple yet beautiful words that I say without much thought
