the horizon is becoming multicolored
the bitterness of the wind whips through my hair
my heart is empty
mind blank, but full of memory
regrets, and sadness
only i am in the wilderness
looking over the cliff
trapped in limbo
the sun would never know
as it disappears into the horizon
good night.
i was listening to an Air Force band at my school and they started playing heat waves. i have loved that song ever since i heard it on never have i ever (the Netflix show). it made me sad tho, it reminded me that i might never have a boyfriend and i felt unlovable. anyways, enjoy <3

Morning collapses into night
with emotions scattered on the ground
here we are kneeling down
picking up the pieces,
throwing them into pools of midnight
This bitter honey sleeps on my tongue
my words unfiltered
build static charge
in these exchanges
through which this current flows
I'm left wondering, if within your eyes
I can find the pain that you disguise
if i can pull it out from this
reservoir of sunset dyes
and stain it with the words I left inside
will it bloom into the flowers
we would pick and laugh over
to hide the butterflies
circling this unknown that we once denied?

Sunset is my favorite color.
When the sun paints the sky
with its most vibrant hues
as if to illustrate the divinity
of its love for the moon.
And isn't it funny that
Sunset always makes me think of you.

As the sun goes down
and day is all but over
a new world begins
___
Written in 2020
the sun has that certain haze
as if it were the dead of Summer
and heat radiated through the air

but

this is a tease a reminder of those days
because indeed the air is fresh
and sharp as it should be in Winter

at the seaside a roaring song and dance
those distant waves appear as a range
the ridges of a desert mountain top

and

silhouetted at depths with the vibrance
of sunset hues bringing shade to the wild
while preparing for the cool of night

the reflections are shorter now
and I lose sight of that glowing orb
as far off clouds take shape to dip

then

colors shift to violet, navy and maroon
leaving a bruise to bumps in the night
and dream of an August day by the sea

First star channels
     a hymn from a hammock

Leave a trail for me
     in the new grass
I will weave back around it
as I trace the code of our pasts

I will glide back through
Like two snakes

Each print of my feet
     a press on fresh cells
Merges me with you back
          seeping to the soils

Keep speaking to me through the fire through the clouds
through the first body of light in a quickly darkening sky

In that space, we deny
all that is fear from dying

From here, there’s only “feel”
And from everywhere,  is “Love”

More.

I used to think I was a sunset lover,
Constantly chasing a beautiful end
That my heart couldn’t trust another
And I’d always have to pretend

I used to think that love was like fire
And I, a moth bound to it’s flame
But true love goes beyond burning desire
Settling into embers that refuse to wane

I no longer dread for dusk to fall
Or yearn for the sun to stay
I search for solace in the darkness
Until the stars come out to play

By now I’d usually be sleeping,
Dreaming of another day
Instead the moon finds me weeping
And asks if all is okay

I tell her of the spark in your eyes
How your touch would make me melt
How I believed I’d found my twin flame
And how intensely alive I once felt

But you can’t fight fire with fire
And I know this because I’ve tried
It’s not worth the bridges burnt
Or all the scars we try to hide

She listens quietly, glowing with empathy
And for a moment I think it might rain
But then she whispers to me softly;
Tomorrow you will begin again.
