If we stepped behind the beautiful curtains,
Behind the giant theater scene,
You might just see something real.
Evade the poker faces, looking into how people feel.
In my generation, where interest pops up like a notification
Searching for any sort of gratification, so they call us whiners.
That's fine, but you're missing the picture because you only see a screen.
I mean, we "laugh out loud" but stay straight faced
In an ever faster rat race, we stepped out of our place
Stuck searching for some real emotion,
Talking to a doctor who hands over some cure all potion
But it still isn't real, all the same, taking that blue pill.
Am I alone in actually saying how I feel?

In these games, I'm happy playing, I'm the hero
With no fear, conquering armies of evil.
Twin guns and blades, nothing safe from the raid
As I sit on a couch, in a button-mashing serenade.
I get why these people hide, how can I compare
To the digital remastered people they see on there,
Where miracles are a dime a dozen.
Look at me I'm breathing, to them it seems like nothing
But it means everything, they just stopped seeing
That the miracle they could be performing is actually just being.
Being everything you set out to be in a real life quest,
There's a billion people out there, there's isn't a you yet.

Don't let fear stop you from your dreams,
Even if that dream is just speaking out.
You may be blessed with a gift,
But that doesn't mean to stop achieving.
Life is fleeting while your stuck sleeping on devices
This is your life. It's beautiful.
Don't waste it.
You only get one, look in that mirror and face it.
It isn't as fat, ugly, or odd looking as you assume.
If you can't face your soul, you're doomed
But if your reading this there's still time,
This is a new chapter, this is the last one's last line.

there you are dancing in smoke and lights moving along to the bass of the music
once again the crowd cheers for you

if only you knew how i cheered for you even backstage without all the special effects, with your hair pinned up and your face clear as day
haha.

We both read our scripts,
but we're not on the same page.
You and I are just actors
who treat life as the stage.

We rehearse our lines,
but they're not what we mean,
for once lets break character
and call cut on this scene.

We could steal the show
if we rewrite the play
and end the charade
of this macabre matinee.

We've reached the finale,
there's no encore after all.
This is our shot,
our last curtain call.

......plays a big part in our daily lives.

we hear the tune,
we sway, blend in...
we engage in the dance,
we enjoy...sometimes, we clash
with the dialogues, the tempo...we end up staggering,
.....and find ourselves, displaced......

still, we rise from the alien ground
where we surrendered our weight,
ponder on the hows and whys,
dance...sway...blend in, anew,
master the beat of the music
every step and turn of the dance,
we try to avoid to reel again...especially,
on the same part of the tune,
on the same spot where we once fell...

life is a large, brightly lighted stage,
we...are the dancers, the singers, the actors...
some of us opt to be dramatists, or merely listeners,
or obsevers........but, we....are all performers,
in this huge...circular stage...where,
all kinds of drama, and music play......

Poetry is a sublime art form and can be used to get a message across
of things that sometimes have or need to be said by words to emboss.
Poetical verses then are groups of lines written in a certain style or metre
of various lengths and rhythm which are often like a stage set in a theatre.

i may just be a player
in the game of life,
and to you i'm nothing but
a side character.

that's okay, but
to me you're center stage
right along with me.

Demi-plié. Tendu.
Relevé. Passé. Développé.
Souplesse. Cambré.
All day. Everyday.
Until I step on stage and get blinded by par lights.
Until my tutu twirls and my pointe shoes die.
Until I do my reverence and hear the audience clap.
Everything can be taken away from me
Except for my body covered in a leotard.

Sometimes I sit in my room
On my bed
And I cry.
I cry for the longing,
For the wanting,
For the need to be on stage.

I want to do so many things.
I want to perform,
I want to be able to belt those notes,
I want to show the world what I have,
I want to march up to everyone that told me I couldn’t and say
“I did it.”

I want to prove them all wrong,
I want to surprise everyone.
They’ll say,
“How did this random southern lady get here?”
And then they’ll hear me sing,
They’ll watch me act,
They’ll see me dance,
And then they’ll say,
“This is where this random southern lady belongs,
On stage with the best of the best.”

I will get there, on that stage.
But until then,
I will keep wanting,
And longing.
I will cry
As I sit on my bed,
In my room.

I keep my voice
Deep inside
So I'm suddenly
Scared
When it reflects
from the walls
As if there is
Somebody else
Who can apply to me
But I'm
a self-proclaimed
Mermaid
I'd rather sell my voice
Than waste it.
