Flawless is her art
Life now drips from every thread
Silk now spun in dark

New day, new haiku!
Now that I've done with the Pleiades, I'm back to other women of myth!
This one is for Arachne. Now she always stood out to me.
The myth I grew up with is that she was overly arrogant and proud about her talents. Athena challenged her and well, Athena lost. Even the Goddess of Wisdom and Handicrafts was in awe of Arachnes work. As Ovid said, Athena couldnt find 'a fleck or flaw—even Envy can not censure perfect art'. But then, Arachne didnt portray the gods in a good light either. (Tbh, most myths are about the Gods being ******* to humans AND each other). Athena tore the loom, in jealous rage and we all know what happened, Arachne became a spider. There are in fact two alternate stories with the same ending. One is the one I grew up with, Athena cursed her to be a spider, but the other one is that Arachne ended her life as the Goddess destroyed her proudest work and she was turned into a spider out of pity. Either way, I was alluding to a spider with the last line. Ironically, while writing this, I saw two spiders in my living room and several baby spiders in my garden.
Which doesn't help my arachnophobia 😅😅😅
Anyway, thank you all for growing followers! 376 followers! I'm forever humbled and grateful for the support🙏🌹💜

One sunny afternoon
I set my tent in the jungle,
and broke every rule walking alone to find a sip of fresh water.
~
I studied everything I could about big creatures that live in the jungle. I was convinced that there are no lions and hyenas, ...
when all of a sadden I could not step on the ground.
~
Paralyzing pain was numbing my right leg.
~
I was bitten by a venomous creature.
~
I immediately knew that I’ll die
suffocating.
~
The fear helped me deepen my breath, with no hope for survival ...
~
Big creatures have been given power, while minuscule one have been gifted with venom and poison to protect themselves.

Never underestimate a minuscule creature, ...
Life teachings come to us in many ways.

There is more and more knowledge, but never more learning.

Learning comes through direct experience.

In the jungle, I learned a big deal about the so-called small creatures ... My experience taught me that there are no small creatures...

Lift the crumb-sized bit to your lips,
Hesitate until it's too late for hesitation,

Fold to tongue and absorb those tasty, harmless
Spider footprints and germatic warzones.
I thought I'd already posted this.

the creature has noticed me. it has thousands of broken legs on its face and keeps tabs, never wasting an hour without checking in, watching my home grow bigger in the corner. i am a long bodied cellar spider, suspended, inverted beneath the guitar case, just right of the bed frame. food is scarce, but i sense we share this hunger in the humid subterranean habitat. it takes on thinness, shakes at times, makes day into night, flips pages, tele-spells, turns night into day again.

micro-fibrous dust settles on my spinnerets, a twitchy sneeze draws attention, the cruelest of details. while unraveling undaunted one pseudo-day sort of night, a pulse was released comma intent to ****. it came like resolute qualia, something my eight eyes can’t see. the plastic cave, the broken allegory, all ghastly and converging. as soon as the web gets jostled, a switch will summon my stunning epileptic display. i am ready to give it a leg, but only from the calve. it has never come this close.

Next to our house there's a green fence,
And a pathway that runs there beside her.
It was there on that fence with a little suspense
That I first met Miss Molly, The Spider.

She weaved her first web from the fence to the door,
Not knowing that we have to pass there.
And I almost tripped and fell to the floor
Avoiding a wrecked-web disaster!

So me and Miss Molly, to avoid one more folly,
Had an eight eye to two eye mind meeting.
With arachnid compassion, in a fashion so crawly,
We shared mental pictures, quite fleeting.

Without word or sound, the result so profound,
As we both agreed to abide there.
Her webs to one side, and the door out of bound,
I made peace with Miss Molly, The Spider!

Based on an actual experience with a little green spider I named Miss Molly!

She was a wonder of Nature, a special
    thing,
Had this lovely aura about her
The way she held herself, the way she
moved.... way she spoke her words
A real classy Lady that's for sure... a proper woman
What the hell she was doing with me I don't know.

Anyway I invited her to my house one day for tea
She so wanted to see where I lived
She was only in the door when she playfully ran her little
   index finger
Along the surface of my little black table in the hall
And then holding it up for me to see, for my inspection
Revealed a big unsightly blob of dust, a most incriminating
   smudge
She smiled a cute little reproachful smile
"It's true Baby", I said," I've been neglecting things of late, been
   letting things slip
Ever since I met you, I've been so preoccupied
Been so preoccupied with thoughts of you
You're always in my head Girl, your... your great beauty, your...your
   incredible loveliness
You've been driving me to Distraction Baby
And Hey! I like the view from down there, it's great! "

I had her sit down in my front room, she hadn't been sitting
   long
When she pointed at the floor, at my carpet
"You know you've got a hole there in your carpet, a big hole"
And "Look!" she said pointing further down the room
"There's another one over there... and another!"
"What can I say Babe", I said, "you know you have me half
     demented
Every night you got me pacing up and down, back and forth
You're this beautiful obsession to me Darling
You got me walking the floor over you Baby
Been thinking about you so hard, and so often
Now I plum gone and worn out my bleedin' carpet
Worn it out with all my walking".
At this she smiled a lovely kind sympathetic smile.

When I came back in the room with the tea
She said to me, she said "You know over in your corner there
Did you know you got a big cobweb and a spider ?"
"Oh! I said.....Oh Her! So you met my Spider
She's not just any old Spider you know
She... she's my... my Love Spider" I said proudly.
"Your Love Spider", she said a bit skeptically,
"Yea! I never had the heart to take her down
Why! She reminds me so much of you Darling
Reminds me of how awesome your powers are
And how futile it is to resist,
Reminds me of how wonderfully caught up I am
In your lovely sweet sticky web
Of gooey gorgeousness and outrageous delights.
With this she looked at me long and hard
Until suddenly there broke upon her lips this lovely enchanting smile,
"You know", she said,"you're so adorable you are, how I love you so".

P.S. "Phew!" I thought to myself,"that was a close one".
Poem inspired by a lady friend of mine, she is very house proud, loves her house while mine is a bit run down. I wondered what'd happen if I ever invited her around LOL.

In the name of pearl of dew,
Sticked on spider web.

ok okay May 2020
There are spiders in the corners of my room
They hide in comfort from their impending doom
They have as much right as me
To stay here too
For I hide here when I cant see the moon
I don't think they will be here long
They seem to come and go
They leave their webs
They leave their homes
We are not that different
Maybe that they know
In time I will be gone too

Ah
to be your
spider
all webs
and legs
and tasty things
in the parlor
and then when
the eggs
hatch away
it's curtains for
you and me
