Odd Odyssey Poet Sep 2024
I reach for her- so lost
she waits for me to rise up to the occasion
but I am an escalator with a line so long,
She takes my hand- so warm
breathes on my neck, to the sting of its cuts
desperately sinning; these eyes being so cutthroat

I feel her in my mind- overthinking
wondering if my actions push her away when
she senses that my mind speaks out of another
She slips from my eyes- I’m crying
afterwards she kisses my eyelids, granting me
the ease to show my true face; it feels so strange

She is not like the rest- her sleep disrobes me
as I watch her pleasantly sleeping by my side;
I take care of her as my wife, love her as a sister
protect her as my child, respect her as my superior
hold her close as a piece of my heart, close away all
that tries to harm her as a barrier door-

I have no sense of fear when she’s around, but
I am so fearful of who will take care of her
when I’m finally gone

i’m sitting in my empty room
where dreams run dry

i’m tossing in my empty room
so desperate for shuteye

i sit here in my room so cold
with heat turned on
by the glowing moon

i’ve seen this moon too many now
i often think we’re friends, oh wow!
but musn’t i be dumb to think
or ponder what my new friend speaks

or does he speak
for he’s the moon
he speaks to me
a silent tune.
My Dear Poet Sep 2024
among all the fears there sleeps a bear
who’s paws are soft and hair is fair
afraid to wake and arouse a tear
there sleeps a mouse by claws so near
between the two there’s an open space
where chivalry and strength find a place
among hope and a dream it will lay
till mice find courage and get away

It’s hard to decipher
What’s real, and what’s fake,
When I spend my time sleeping,
Afraid of the wake.

It’s easy to tell
Of the future that waits,
When deep in my slumber,
My dreams show my fate.

Can’t seem to decide
If love can be felt,
When indifference consumes me,
And hatred just melts.

Can’t tell what I’m feeling.
In patience, I fall.
My logic can fail me
When in conscience, I call.

I feel my voice slipping
When my thoughts become evi,
My desires start dreaming,
And my eyes become heavy.
The world is screaming out.
Can you hear it?
It it's moment of crisis
The world is asking me
Who I am.
I suppose,
I suppose it's time I answer.

Sheep fill my thoughts
To the brim
When I find it hard to sleep.
I wake, I sow,
And even so,
I know not what I reap.
And in the day
My mind is clear
Of wooly creatures’ endless graze.
For in my wake
I lose my fear
Within a sea slug's haze.

Who needs sleep?
Not me.
When silence
Cuts deeper than
Any other knife.
My thoughts
Are pounding
Twisting and turning.
The weight I carry
Unseen ,untold
Grows heavy
In the midnight cold.
The restless fire in me
Too big to hold,
Keeps me awake
Till I shake.
Who needs sleep?
Not me.
Not now .
Tracing the lines
On my thighs
That no one shall
See.
To silence the pain
That I keep deep within .
Even in the dark
I know it's clear,
The path I walk is
Paved with fear.
Who needs sleep ?
"ME!"I scream ,
Gasping as I
Let my mind run
Free...

Gentle sleep tonight
Warm and comfortable
All through the night
Sleeping with your gentle touch and
You comfort me so much
Like a blanket of serenity gentle
Sleep you wrap me in tranquility.
Sleeping 😴😴😴

i used to cry when nights were long.
when insomnia creeps in, everything feels wrong;
but honey, now that you're mine to keep,
my dopamine's too high - i can't even sleep.

but no, i don't shed tears anymore.
instead, i savor your smile and the rizz that you pour.
in still nights, i count our blissful memories;
the peace you bring means a lot to me.

i used to cry when i couldn't sleep.
now, i have become too happy to weep.

I have dreams about my father.
From my point of view,
the dream picks up in the middle.
I never see him when he returns,
only after I’ve let him back in.
We’re laughing and hugging.
These are my nightmares.
And last night, I had a dream about you.
We were walking a trail barefoot,
clinging on to each other for balance.
I woke up with that sick pit in my stomach,
as I always do with the others.
There was a time when I feared losing you.
Now, my subconscious is left fearing you,
hoping to God you’ll never come back
and that I’ll never be weak enough to let you return.
