Love Aug 2014
My heart rips into two pieces
For both of you
One side of my heart stands
A boy full of love for me
And kindness
On the other side stands
A boy full of passion
And desire
As if he was a siren
Eager to lure in the weakest
Beautiful prey.
My heart has ripped in two
Holding on merely by placement
And one side is about to fall
Into darkness
To be covered by dirt
Burried and forgotten.
Who is on the side to fall?
Writen from the point of view of a friend who's going through some tough decision making.

She sings her sweet songs,
Calling all the sailors home;
*A homing beacon.
They're enchanted, unaware;
Their doom awaits them...

Poets are word canaries
prepared to die in dark, airless places.
Poets are sharp sirens
alert, alarmed and warning of the firestorm.

Poets can read
tree bark calligraphy of knots and scars.
Poets decipher codes
and shrewd puzzles, bold and enigmatic.

Poets ignore the talk of Angels
their prophecies and broken promises
Poets turn over Tarot cards
lay out rune stones, fearless of the future.

Poets steer clear
of treasure, jewels and golden ingots.
Poets climb ladders
and stairways cut in rock and stone.

Poets can see beyond
apple blossom, lilac blooms and dead lilies.
Poets find the past
in patterns of stars and the orbit of comets.

Poets lick salt
relishing the wounds and tears.
Poets throw life-belts
wreaths onto empty oceans.

Poets split existence
into life and death with nothing between.
Poets sift ashes
and sand for the rough edges of infinity.

My chest is so empty, it aches
You are my 3AM thoughts; my ramblings in the ungodly hours
You are my sanity tonight; my frantic scribbles
You are the glue that holds me together; the electricity that keeps my heart dancing in my chest
God, my chest.
Void of you, and mourning
Devastated
Lover.
Where are you?
Do you think of me often?
Am I the faceless siren in your dreams?
Or am I the very breath that fills your lungs?
Am I the rising and falling of your chest; of my favorite place to rest and forget the raging storm around us?
Or am I the wry smile playing about your lips?
I wish I could kiss you.

Dark, dangerous woods,
Phases of the flashing moon,
Turning heads of owl.

This siren that sings out my name
Calls me abroad to oceans untamed
Over waves and under cloud churned skies
Through rain and hell my vessel flies
Through turmoil and treachery, beyond it all
Still I hear her haunting call
Drawing me on, begging me to haste
Through starry darkness, past time and space

Adventure is the song she sings
Of life and stories, these incredible things
To compare her allure, all others have paled
The answering of her call I’ve never failed
Onward to her melody I will always run
Forever she sings, this chase never done.

the ebb and tide of diamond waves slosh in the most serene celerity.
it is then that i know i am safe.

i lie in the ocean's arms,
and become a grain of sand,
until your song is sent my way
and i crystallize.

oh i am a pearl, born from pain.

your timbre plays melodies on my heartstrings, siren.
your beauty shadowboxes with my soul, siren.
i am not yours to keep, siren.
i am the tidecaller and i have a place.

but oh siren, why must you sing when i want to sleep?
why must you sing when i want to weep?
oh, siren, take my soul to keep.

no longer my sea.
sea of sirens, sea of song.
your song always lets me know that i mustn't tag along.
I liked someone a lot when I was in a really safe place in life. Whenever I decide to like someone, I remind myself to give up.
