Nothing seems to be okay.
When I read the newspapers,
An imbecile killed gays.

Forty-nine flags furled,
Tears reflecting every hue,
On faces confusion swirled,
How could this loss be true?

Forty-nine families cry,
Looking for a reason in the pain,
Don't look where the bodies lie,
For how could they be slain?

Forty-nine sparks doused in water red,
With metal flying through the air,
Their last thoughts of dread,
But could the metal care?

Forty-nine lost to delusion,
Forty-nine lost to hate,
It still seems like an illusion,
Can we control our fate?

Forty-nine reasons not to become,
Like a homophobic man,
Who couldn't see the sum,
Of all the hearts that love and can,

Be better than that man.

So much sitting on my tongue.
So much impossible to believe.
Man targets gay club...
50 dead, 56 injured.
Blood donations, no gay blood.
Spouses can't even help one another.
Wanna know what I say?
**** the quote "freedom"
If this country were truly free gays could go to clubs without the fear of getting shot down.
People could donate blood and not have to be a certain sexuality.
Freedom doesn't excist in this country if you are gay.
Pray for freedom.
Pray for the victims
Never stop fighting for your rights.
A little rant on freedom

Hands brush against each other,
But dare not intertwine.
Their owners fear persecution,
So instead they choose to hide.

Eyes sparkle under sunlight,
Wide smiles sprawl across faces,
Lips quiver in loving desire,
But kissing is dangerous in these places.

A man bestows his husband with a present,
As they sit within a restaurant booth,
But all he can do is smile,
So onlookers won't know his heart's truth.

Under party lights, their arms intertwine,
Their eyes meet, their lips kiss.
They are surrounded by others,
Who only now can engage in this bliss.

They are free from judgement,
Free from danger, hearts soaring,
Lives molding together, passion flowing,
Love crying into the air, it is roaring.

Gunfire erupts, bodies are falling,
Safe places have become unsafe.
It seems we can not love freely,
No, not even in this place.
Rest in peace.

How dare the world keep turning.
Can't it see we're still mourning?
I am still stood still with shock,
Still shaking,
My heart still racing.
Still so soon, 50 other hearts stopped.
If this world keeps turning, revolving as normal
Then I fear that the sun may set and rise and bring us tomorrow.
A new day. How many hearts will stop?
How many hearts will be stopped?
The world keeps turning without a thought
Of the panicked, the broken, the shaking, the shot.

Who are you to say, who I choose to love?
Who are you to say, who I pray to?
Who are you to say, I must be this way?
Who are you? I haven’t got a clue.
You say, “Actions unite a society.
You must act accordingly, you must!
Be normal, be how we have always been
Then, in you we shall place our trust.
If you don’t agree to this, Go away
Away from here, you do not belong!
Leave us in peace, we don't need you.
We send you off, for without you, we’re strong.”

But I’ll ask you: do I deserve to die?
Am I so disgusting I can’t live?
How can you decide I must die this way?
What have I done that you can’t forgive?
A poem for those who died during the Orlando massacre of 12th June 2016.

the acts of one can **** another
one man and a gun killed someones brother,
someones sister, someones lover

one bullet leaves them dead
the blood they bled
left the ground stained red

they will be remembered for what another had done
by the actions of only one
with the power of a gun
The US need tighter gun laws so cowardly people can not **** people for being themselves. It's sad to see so many people be lost in such a tragic way. Two shootings and one attempted shooting in two days should not be acceptable.
It’s Saturday night
And you call me a fool
Because I’d rather stay home
I don’t live to play cool

It’s still Saturday night
And you drink as you dance
Your arms wrapped around a body
As if you ever stood a chance

It’s almost Sunday
And everything has changed
You went out to have fun
But a gun is pointed at your face

It’s almost Sunday
And blood has been shed
This was your safe place
Now all you see is red

It’s Sunday morning
And the world isn’t fair
The culprit was a weapon
That shouldn’t have been there

It’s Sunday morning
And I’m calling you instead
But you don’t pick up the phone
Because you’re dead
The US are not a safe place to be right now with these gun laws. If you defend them, I'm sorry, but you're not right. People hate on other people's sexualities in other countries as well but they don't walk into clubs and start shooting them, why? Because they don't have guns. Sure, it's the thought that kills and not the weapon, but it's much harder to ****** people without one. The day before this, some random guy shot a singer in the head 3 times after her concert. Today another guy was caught with weapons as he was driving or something to the LA Pride Festival. This is not right. These people should not be allowed to carry weapons. My condolences to the families of the victims from the mass shooting in Orlando. I once wanted to live in the US, I'm not sure about this anymore.
