You were one-in-a-thousand
my 2-ply friend

But as our time together
nears it's end

There are a few things
I need to say to you

Number one

You were so strong
to take all my crap

Number two

You always rolled
with the punches

And finally

Even though you were
slowly unraveling

You were never harsh or abrasive
but soft & gentle

Emptying yourself
as your time grew flush

How will I ever replace you?
May you now rest, end piece...

No matter how
high we fly,
at some point, it seems,
you and I
must return to the ground.
But weep not,
upon love's reentry
what didn't burn off
in the atmosphere
is ours to keep.

If it melts faster
than ice cream on
a summer afternoon
it isn't love

If it sticks to
the roof of your mouth
like peanut butter
it isn't infatuation

Interestingly enough

Pale skin women

Who go Brazilian

And love to suntan in the buff

Better not fall asleep

On their backs

Or they'll be called 'hot stuff'

For all the wrong reasons

They prefer the dark corners in a theatre
Places adjacent to a snack bar
But close enough to the exit
Because killers on strings
Always eat on the run

They're sown from a different cloth
Brains made of the same
Course material
As flailing arms and legs
To form one disturbing pattern

They make such good liquidators
For their eyes are dead
Their heart lifeless and unbeaten
Their long fingers perfect
For a bit of good-natured strangulation

Never mind though
We must first tip our hats
To those who truly pull the strings
Hosting kid puppet shows by day
Hiring out cute cuddly fiends after hours

A friend of the Man of Steel,
Lois Lane was full of questions
about identity and the way Niagara Falls,
which Clark Kent was poorly denying.

The life of this reporter
was then full of punch-ups
and helicopter rides gone awry;
strange musings in her head
and fancy flights in the sky;
vacations consumed climbing the Eiffel Tower
and making love in an odd
fluffy bean bag bed.

But she loved the smokes so much more,
she ****** those coffin nails
faster than a speeding bullet.
More powerful than a locomotive,
she puffed away, leaving
Superman’s love in the ashtray.

Our poor hero's heart might have ached
but he still could leap
tall buildings in a single bound.
Lois, on the other hand, was a chainsmoker
and her teeth always brown.

It doesn't take x-ray vision to see
this chimney sweep was
no prize or pageant beauty.
And dare it be said, in true hindsight,
she was even worse for him than Kryptonite.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a swimming companion when enjoying his pond.

Whether we toast to your pain, my pain, or no pain at all
What seems to matter most is drinking the pain away

My mirror
Is driving me up the wall

It's sick and tired
Of it always being about me

Get back in your cage, Dorothy
Let nature observe
Let sharks encircle
Let random impulses
Bring toe-curling raptures
Upon your dreamy imprisonment

Tin, this cage
In which you dwell
Straw, this sky
From which it fell
The only road out of your anxiety
Requires swallowing a pill
As big as the heart of a lion

You want so desperately to leave
Just click your heels
And repeat three times
"There's no place like home"
Then floor it
When the light turns yellow
