Listen closely to the sound , this seashell that has floated upon the shore  of white sand, as you place it's magic upon your ear, the rippling sound of the crashing waves is what you hear.
Oh how I wish I could fit inside, for the tide descending back into these Waters of blue, carrying me into the majestic ocean floor beyond the sands never touched by man, the beauty these Waters allow us to see, I am imagining how mysterious the rest could be, for we haven't a clue.    Laying beneath the so much unseen , lost city's, sunken vessels, treasures of a time long ago , the story of another time  all buried beneath a place we dare not go. Laying beneath the grounds of our feet another world  left undiscovered , only to imagine, the the secrets it keeps , the magestic land that remains unseen.
The ocean holds so much beauty and mystery of a time long ago. I would live to discover all the things we don't know

I remember bottling up the beach for you since you've never been.
To you it's just sand.
It was more than just sand to me

You,
the wave of a
calm ocean.
I,
the ground beneath
the surface.
Oh how you pull
the sand apart
in search of me.

i let your hand go, softly,

and

we parted our
separate ways.

the tracing in the sand
was washed away by
the foamy edges
of the gentle waves.

the driftwood
was swept out by
the misty tide
and off the shore

away from the
salty coast,
into the eternal,
pristine sea.

the violin solo was
carried by the breeze
and the tubas dove
deeper into their octave

the final breath of your name
touched my tongue,
and it was our
final goodbye.

Sea
What a happy place to see.
The white beach and the blue sea.
Where you can relax and sing with glee.
It’s a perfect place to be.

it scares me;
i am constantly terrified of how fast it comes and goes,
how slow it comes and goes,
how much power it holds.

i can think
of no better way to describe it but to call it sand
i try to focus on each grain, each second, and
it just slips right from my hand.

it makes me
want to do everything available to me,
want to do nothing but crumple and weep,
want to stop and go unseen.

i am scared.
i am so scared of what it will bring,
so scared, because time is the one thing
that i can never keep.
not my best, but i wanted to vent and try something new with how i write poetry, and thus, here we are :)

Someone once told me that I was in love with the sea

And I believed them

I was entranced by the steadiness of his current

He kept me afloat even when the storms would jostle me about

How his gentle saltwater kisses on my cheeks would leave me breathless by filling my lungs with water

How the consistency of his tide made me run to him daily

How complacent I was to be at his beckoned call

All because people told me that I was in love with the sea

But I am not in love with the sea

Because I am in love with the shore

How she sparkles when the sun shines on her

And how her sand tickles between my toes

Her warmth engulfs me like a blanket

How she pulls me back and keeps me grounded

She catches me and holds me close when the sea throws me in its rage

Oh how many times it took me to be hurled from the sea until I realized I belonged in the arms of the shore
This poem is based off of the word Metanoia which means “the journey of changing one's mind, heart, self, or way of life.”

I wish I was there again.
I wish everything that’s in my head got lost at sea,
that all I could taste was salty air.
I wish I was walking in the little shops
that all sold seashells and starfish.
I wish everywhere I was I could hear the crashing tide;
calling me back to the cold, fresh, water.
I wish my feet were buried in warm sand,
hiding from the chilling breeze.
I wish I was where time slowed to a stop,
where I had all the time in the world.
I wish I was staring into a never ending horizon,
where I wasn’t always running to catch up.
Where all I had to do was breathe in and breathe out.
I can't stop dreaming of the Oregon Coast.
