I didn't care what it cost.
To be right there in your arms.

Now I know the price I've paid,
Left alone on the bed we've made.

'Cause you don't love the person right infront of you,
I'll starve myself to be kept in your view.

Complete my tithe,
Replete my sacrifice.

Because this prison is warm
I must suffice.
This poem stemmed from an early journal entry that I decided to rewrite as a poem, so this poem is very personal to me. I didn't battle with any eating disorders but I was a witness to many people that suffered from them. It's titled June becasue that's the month I had written the entry.
Such was the persevering love
That even to your wrath
I was a credulous sacrifice.

We live in silence for two moments,
for those who fell silent long ago.

For there sacrifice is  every breath
Where now  gifted with today.

Every name is woven in the fabric
Of our lives, never to forget the past.

When red petals fell, and so many
Did, there was silence for moments.

The past is a tribute and a lesson of
what must be learnt and not repeated.

In a land of silent birdsong
Where happiness dies
And the living share the dead
With a community of flies
Where the explosions deafen the silence
And whispers of forgotten hope
Watch as fire welcomes the dawn
And float away like bubbles of soap
Too young to vote, but grown enough to die
Stand strong, stand true, their sergeant sings
So proud and brave they face the flurry
Of killing hornet stings
And as they charge across the killing field
They can’t know at that dark time
How their sacrifice would change
All the lives, ever after. That’s yours and mine

Blessed are they who are conscripted, when they are dragged into wars not of their choosing
- for they will be remembered.

Blessed are they who are convinced by politicians' rhetoric, when they are shamed into service by posters and speeches
- for they will be remembered.

Blessed are you when leaders lie to you and lead you to your slaughter, sing and be brave,
- for you will be remembered.

Blessed are you when men shell you and seek to **** you, sing and be brave, my brothers
- for you will be remembered.

You are the salt of the earth, thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world, placed in darkness and buried.
But truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappears, not the least drop of your blood will by any means disappear from this soil.

Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these and encourages others to forget, will be called least in this kingdom.

But you,
you
will be
remembered.
I have mixed feelings about war. Just wars are few and far between. Men's egos and power plays are more common.  But the soldier fights for those on their left and their right, not for ideologies. Soldiers deserve our respect.

I cannot stand who I've become
Cannot stand my own reflection
This person I view in the mirror
With no grasp of time or direction

Expectation destroying tender brain
Watching it chase thoughts around
Want to corrall the wayward beasts
To some corner to never be found

Time keeps doing *****
Throwing me place to place
I attempt to assert dominance
It responds by quickening pace

Fearing not the days passing
But my use of how many given
Not for lack of trying you see
I work hard but most days aren't worth living

My arms too weak to carry this load
My dreams too disobedient
Walls are whispering to eachother
Starting to question my sanity and sense

I cannot see my image clearly
Behold no beauty in my eyes
Pacing through flaws as I please
Every night escape with highs

Struggling to remember who I was before
Lost important parts of my soul
Wish I had done things differently
I'd sacrifice all I own to again be whole
I look at myself in the mirror and can't help but think I'm the worst version of myself I could possibly be

Buzzes to death for his queen
Somehow…not enough

I need peace more than I need my next breath
For if I leave this world better than I found it
Then I have done my duty
Giving up my life for freedom and liberty
Freeing those in captivity
This is the cry of a soldier
Whose heart is bolder
Sacrificing everything
Feasting on pain while starving for world peace
