Floating on a still river
I begin to break and shiver
For I am all withered and broken
And for being alive, I appreciate this token
I remember my green past
Yet it faded by quite fast
Is this how long I will actually last?
I had let go of my branch
Now I’m drowning in this watery avalanche
Nothing to hold onto any more
I break the closer I am to shore

Flowers decorated the riverbed.
We sat together taking in the view before us.
Each stroke of grass hand painted
by the gods themselves.

The monsters that always came after us
never felt so far away.
The rocks that decorated the river shined
like shimmering diamonds.

I still think of that day
It felt like an eternity.
if I could stay I would but now
Living without you everyday feels like an eternity too.

And my world will always eternally be incomplete for as long as I live without you by my side.

The wind's fingers reached into his collar,
pinching him with the cold
With another stroke of the paintbrush
The blue mixed with the gold

The walkers who ventured o’re the shore
Stared at the mumbling man
Whose teeth were stained with yellow
And drank to calm shaking hands

The burning lights blurred in the water
Pooling refractions and ripples
He captured the heavenly bodies
As the canvas he covered in stipples

Azure he blended with the indigo,
canary and honey and flax
The cool and the warm melded in one
candle and moon, wane and wax

Soft falls the light in the harbor
The stillness of night overcast
In the river he cleans off his brushes
And turns round for home at the last.

Within a moment I understand the universe— and then it is gone.

under the riverbed
the moon scatters silver
you carefully gather

whatever you can hold blue
shadows hang heavy
as your waterlogged pants
you still scoop, smiling

full pieces of our dreams
lodged between your fingers
water streams down your face
both sweat and tears ever sweet

i ready the basket
poised like a midnight crane
barely stirring in wane

several moments of pause,
and you look for me and
gaze with bottomless eyes
searching, for me asking
any reason, any sense, why
why won't I swim in the moonlight?

a sudden wave appears
and it slaps you on the face
your smile insults your heart
the peace mocks your mind

maybe because they're sham
maybe because they're fleeting
you don't know for sure
it seems like you're dreaming

but the shower turns on
the river keeps gushing
you drain it with your hand
but the water keeps flowing

the next thing you know
your chest is convulsing
you're lying right there
having a hard time breathing

you stood on your shaking feet
wobbly walked towards the door
you took a hopeful step outside
but it rained woe some more

between morning and night
the whole world sleeps still
but the warm wind is listening
whirling leaves are waving

there's a wide gap in the sky
you scared the stars away
but a tower is looking over you
a red light reaches your face

it turned the shower off
and it closed the river down
it wondered if he'll ever see you
without the rain around

Sometimes,
Love is like diving into the raging river,
It keeps throwing you
into the cold and turbulent current
and you find yourself
being ****** into a whirlpool,
swirling down to the river bed

It scours out
the traits and traces of you
It tests your grit
everyday
and Everyday you find the courage
to dive again,
tread the waters
and just keep learning
to stay afloat...

And I will go in the way of the river,
Till I find my place of rest.
To the place that was made for me,
That which for me is the best.
I know not where the river will carry me,
Which twists and turns will surprise.
I only know of this moving water,
To the place I have yet to arrive.
